Yesterday Keir Starmer posted this on ‘X’
“The test of any Prime Minister is: do you leave your country in a better place than you found it? I’m proud that the answer is yes”.
Still delusional I see.
I mean if it were really the case that he has made the country better via his premiership, then why, after only two years as the Labour UK PM , is he now being replaced ?
Obviously his deluded observation is not supported by either his own MP’s nor indeed the public.
I wonder if as a reward for being yet another failed UK PM we will see him , Starmer, eventually being given a life peerage.
As we all know how certain UK political parties do so love to reward their own people for being political failures.
Since Brexit we have had six PM’s yet somehow Brexit is not being seen as the main cause of all of this political failure, instability and chaos.
Labour pledged in their manifesto that they would “Make Brexit work” yet we are still seeing the damaging economic impact of Brexit , so surely it is obvious that it cannot be made to work as a policy if we are still out of the SM and the CU ?
So then how long will this new and latest Labour UK PM last ?
The Sunday Mail had a front page headline yesterday:
“Burnham: I’ll deliver for Scotland”
Didn’t they headline a similar front page with Starmer ?
Yep the huge problem for Scotland is that it is what was delivered (via Starmer) and now also what will be “delivered” (via Burnham) that is the worrying factor.
As in what has been delivered before by the various UK PM’s and what will be delivered by yet another new UK PM is not what Scotland needs nor wants, but instead it will be, yet again , what they, UK PM’s, want to impose upon us as something that only benefits and suits them and most certainly will not benefit nor suit us the people of Scotland.
It seems that since the first Independence Ref in 2014 there has always been “time” for a constant change of new UK PM’s, yet somehow we , Scotland, are always being told that “Now is not the time” (as in ‘Never’) for another justified Independence Referendum.
Now that is UK PM’s dictating to Scotland what it can and cannot do, as in what we are allowed and not allowed to do in this, checks notes, ‘Union’.
While simultaneously they themselves are always allowed , time and time again, to deliver constant changes and reversals to their policies and also to the (latest new) direction that they want to take for their UK State (including what they want to do to Scotland not for Scotland).
The same UK Policies and new directions that mostly end up causing more problems that results in constant instability and chaos.
Seems to me that the real problem for Scotland is us still being a part of their UK State , us still being overruled by WM and so then us always still being dictated to and so then overruled by their various (ever changing) UK PM’s (that as a situation will, I am sure, not change with Andy Burnham as the latest Labour UK PM).

It might as well be Larry the Cat in my opinion. Why we have to be subjected to all this is obviously on account of the referendum in 2014 which has delivered chaos and decline instead of all the promises.
So much for hopey changey Westminster.

John Healey has been appointed the new Chancellor by Andy Burnham.
The same John Healey who had resigned as Defence Secretary under Starmer and who said “defence spending needed to rise to 3% of GDP by 2030”.
Burnham today pledged that as the new PM that “ending rough sleeping in the country his first policy pledge as the new prime minister” so what will the war monger John Healey do in his first budget as the new Chancellor, given that his priority is defence and the increase of money towards funding it ?
Labour joke party and also a Joke UK government.

Oh dear this new boss, Burnham, is really ducking up is he not….
Pat McFadden remains work and pensions secretary !
Remember this below ( as clearly Andy does not or rather he is in denial).
“Private WhatsApp exchanges between Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden and Lord Mandelson were released in documents related to Mandelson’s former role as US ambassador”
“In May 2025, McFadden complained to Mandelson about the focus of government meetings, stating: “Every meeting I have is ‘who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others’. They’re asking the wrong questions“
“Mandelson described Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his cabinet as lacking “verve”. In another exchange following a welfare rebellion, McFadden noted that Starmer had “destroyed” his own authority by watering down proposed benefit reforms”
Oh , so with Burnham pledging “to end rough sleeping in ‘his country'” then how will the same Works and Pension Secretary (McFadden) square that with his opinion being that the paying of more and increased welfare benefits should be denied , but the rich aka the non rough sleepers should be not made to pay more tax.
This is becoming a farce……also known as no change…yet again.

So Douglas Alexander keeps his role as the SOS against Scotland.
This is despite, in June 2026, the revelations that Alexander when formerly, in 2024 , as Trade Minister was said to have “broken the ministerial code by not declaring a meeting with Peter Mandelson’s lobbying agency“.
Unbelievably the BBC reported this on their website , but then they had to:
“The BBC revealed the meeting with an employee at Global Counsel in the summer of 2024 was not publicly declared until nearly a year and a half later”
“It was Alexander’s first external meeting as trade minister and occurred weeks after his appointment”.
“The Department for Business and Trade told the BBC this administrative error was corrected by officials in March “as soon as it became apparent”. ( that is a year and a half later) !
“It also confirmed the meeting was attended by civil servants and formally minuted”.
“UK law requires ministers to report meetings with lobbyists every three months”.
“Anti-corruption campaign group Transparency International UK shared evidence with the BBC suggesting the public record was only updated to include the meeting on 25 March of this year”.
“In messages just after the 2024 general election, Alexander appears to credit Lord Mandelson with his return to parliament as MP for Lothian East, referencing support over several years“.
(Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer – in yet another sweep sweep under the carpet- investigated the matter and concluded in June 2026 that Alexander faced no further action, deeming the omission of the meeting a “regrettable administrative oversight” rather than a breach of the ministerial code).
That’s also what the Tories often did too whenever any of their Ministers breached the Ministerial code – however Scottish Ministers are expected , as in the opposition demands that they , as Ministers must resign if they are accused of breaching the Ministerial code.
Coincidentally “administrative oversight” and “administrative errors” is exactly the same excuses Nigel Farage and others within Reform UK use whenever they have been exposed as having done something that is deemed wrong or corrupt –
But as stated above it is also, as an excuse, ‘not allowed’ to be used nor accepted as being valid or acceptable as an excuse when it is any SNP politician or Scottish government Minister who may state “oversight or errors” as being reasons for any oversights, errors or mistakes that they may have made.
(As within the UK State it is a case of there being far more relaxed and flexible rules for them – all UK party politicians and UK governments- while simultaneously there also exists other far more stricter and rigid rules that must always be applied to the SNP and the current SNP controlled Scottish government).
So what does Andy Burnham, the new and the supposed far better (than Starmer) Labour leader and PM say to all of this ?
Well nowt , as he has asked Alexander to still remain in his post as the SOS against Scotland.
The SOS against Scotland post was one of the last positions to be announced in Burnham’s cabinet (together with the SOS against Wales and NI posts) – indeed they always are last in any UK (English) Cabinet announcements/reshuffles.
All seen as minor roles whose main remit is to always comply with whatever the UK PM and UK government dictate that they want to happen in all of these English owned and controlled colonies.
Indeed on the 18 July 2026 The Times posted this :
“Douglas Alexander eyes bigger job in Andy Burnham’s cabinet”
So basically being the SOS against Scotland is not an important enough role or indeed a big enough role within the English government’s cabinet. (basically it’s just being a YES man to WM).
Kind of speaks volumes that both he , Alexander, and the English owned media both think that the SOS against Scotland is a minor and insignificant role within a UK (English) government , compared to the other bigger and more important roles within the cabinet (as in the ones that have control over English domestic policy).
A bit like how they see Scotland, Wales and NI as minor parts of their UK (English) State.
Oh but Burnham and his “breathing space” is supposedly to be seen as a breath of fresh air. If , that is , you ignore who he has appointed as Chancellor, Home Secretary and also the fact that his speech yesterday outside Number 10 Downing Street failed to mention Climate change or Brexit , which are hugely topical and significant issues and where one of them – Brexit- is damaging aka destroying his UK and also political parties like his Labour party !
A so called new era under Burnham may just be merely an extension of the previous era that we have all suffered under Keir Starmer……aka continuity disguised as yet another form of (absolutely no) “Change”.
