A more than 3 000 extra violent crimes surge in Scotland’s once low crime areas is more in the public interest than going to a murder pub in Spain over 84 ‘offences’ in Scotland

BBC Scotland today, surprisingly, given the Widdicombe murder obsession of all the press, has headlined:

Gang feud ended with ‘resolution of differences’ between rivals – police – Ross McGill (centre), the former head of Rangers Football Club’s ultras fan group the Union Bears, was a key figure in the feud – Police have revealed that a violent gangland feud spanning six months came to an end through dozens of arrests and a “resolution of differences” between rival groups. The trouble began in Edinburgh last March and led to a series of fire-raisings and attempted murders across the central belt, totalling 84 separate incidents.

84 separate incidents including two murders but neither in Scotland, over the space of a year or so?

How does that compare with the changes in violent crime in formerly low crime parts of Scotland, like Highland Region or Western Isles where we know, if only from BBC Highland Cops and local media, in these areas, that County Lines gangs have brought, since around 2019/2020, increased supplies of cheap, powerful, deadly new drugs, backed up by extreme violence, cuckooing of the vulnerable, people trafficking and child prostitution?

Here are the data for the 9 lowest crime areas in Scotland, showing the change in the first four years of County Lines drugs presence in places like Inverness, Stornoway, Lerwick, Kirkwall and from Duns to Dingwall.

Violent crime has increased in Scotland, from 2020 to 2024 by around 15%, by less than that in high crime Glasgow City and in Scotland’s second most violent area, Dundee City, it has fallen.

In sharp contrast, in Scotland’s 9 least violent areas, violent crime has soared, often by more than 10 times the Scottish average.

We know, from direct comments by senior police officers in places like Inverness that this is the result of the activities of County Lines gangs based in London, Liverpool and the West Midlands.

BBC Scotland should be sending their Disclosure Team in to investigate this rather than sending them to Fuengirola (Spain) to excitedly film in a bar where a shooting took place.

    However on the BBC website headline today is this:

    “Investigation into Widdecombe’s death rekindles debate over how to protect politicians”

    Also today on the BBC website is this headline:

    “Sturgeon’s police statement on SNP finances won’t be released, says lawyer”

    This is a long article that also includes “How the Peter Murrell case unfolded” which includes a timeline and a breakdown of yet another regurgitated BBC report on this past case , that as a criminal case has now been concluded , as the culprit, Peter Murrell, has been jailed. So why are the BBC still after blood , why indeed ?

    (It also includes , as per, quotes from Jackie Baillie and Rachael Hamilton to further their , the BBC’s, vendetta against Ms Sturgeon).

    Let us not forget that in the past, when she was FM she, Ms Sturgeon, was subjected to numerous death threats, indeed someone was even jailed for it.

    Yet still she, as a now ex politician, is being subjected to a barrage of constant negative media publicity (a lot of which is being reported both on the BBC website and on BBC Scotland news programmes as sourced from the usual suspects in the gutter press, as well as also being sourced from the usual suspects in the opposition parties).

    So I would say that what is now being reported by the UK State media as being a time when politicians (and also very much certain ex politicians) are apparently more at risk , then this relentless and aggressive pursuit of Ms Sturgeon by the media (including very much the BBC) creates a serious threat to both her current and future safety.

    Of course the UK State media are not those who seem to care nor consider, nor indeed I suspect worry about the fact that their words both spoken and written, could then result in potential serious consequences when it comes to the safety of both current and former SNP politicians.

    Indeed what we have witnessed for far too long is that most of the UK State media, including the BBC, have pandered to the likes of Nigel Farage, as opposed to challenging him and also scrutinising him and his pretend parties, while simultaneously as a UK State media they have also mostly focused negatively upon (obsessed about) demonising others, like the SNP and also Ms Sturgeon in particular.

    So if the safety of politicians is indeed currently a real concern then perhaps the media, like the BBC and others, should consider both toning down their words and so then also winding down their constant articles in their relentless and vicious pursuit of Ms Sturgeon as someone that they seem to be presenting as being public enemy number 1. (Which is a spot that they, as a media , could easily fill themselves as they are obviously extremely partisan (biased) and so then are hugely compromised in them being those who are obviously the UK establishment’s chosen propaganda merchants – mostly all fighting against Scotland and also against Scottish independence).

      I noticed yesterday at YouTube via The Scotland channel, reporting that the SNP are going to be sued by some persons re the Murrell case. They won’t let this go, I still see folks via blogs comments etc, attempting to dine out on the long drawn out case of Murrell’s crime of £400k, saying it’s the worst ever £s crime in political history. Brilliant distraction from the dubious Farage £5million and others who are less than honest or squeaky clean at Westminster.
      BBC are a disgrace in their continuing demonisation of Nicola Sturgeon.

    1. I was ill so I had to have blood tests and I also had an Ultrasound scan and hopefully eventually all will be well.

      I mention this only to highlight the great service that I had via the Scottish NHS.

      First class service via the Scottish NHS, I saw my doctor on the same day that I called the surgery.

      I got the result of my blood test the next day from my doctor .

      I had scan within two weeks of doctor’s appointment and I now to have another blood test this Thursday. Hardly any wait to get results of scan either.

      So much for the Scottish NHS being destroyed by the SNP and being supposedly so so bad.

      Not for me . Also not for some of my friends ( or my husband) either !
