The Guardian regardless of its claims of ‘quality’ joins in the campaign to smear the whole of the SNP with one man’s crimes against it.
Murrell was not a politician, not a thinker, not a leader of political initiatives. He was the senior administrator, responsible for staffing, buildings, accounts but the Guardian portray him as simply ‘the chief’.
How do they square that with Nicola Sturgeon or other real chiefs of the party after her?
As for ‘the man with the money’ claim, how on earth did this guy come to the attention of BBC reporters?

No harm to him, but he does not sound as if he is all there and so may not remember that well. Indeed, it’s more likely, like most of us, the tale has been made up in that process which even the sharpest of us have been shown to participate in.
Rae said Murrell browsed through their stock and bought a pendant called the Mirrie Dancer Drongs.
It shows the sea stacks off the coast of Hillswick, with the “mirrie dancer” Northern Lights illuminating the sky above.
“We were happy he wanted to buy something… as far as I can remember it was about £850,” he added.
It was listed in court documents next to a figure of £425. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cg5pp2pee7go
So a well-paid chief exec buys something at that price and his wife wears it because both know he can afford it without needing to have committed a crime to buy it? That’s it. Why haven’t they spoken to, for example, the garage owners?

The media appear to want to blame the victim ( SNP ) for the criminality of the person who deceived and stole from them . There is zero sympathy for the victim in this case .
The unionist media at their most hypocritical !

Remember Malcolm Macaskill? Scottish Tory treasurer and VAT fraudster.
He tries to scam a million pounds (more than twice what Murrell stole from SNP funds) of PUBLIC moneys, some of it through Tory party branches. Remember the furor, the headlines, the itemising of the things he spent his loot on ? How could the Tory party not know what he was doing?
The misogynistic headlines, and caricatures of his female “helpers” in the Oldham Daily Roger?
No I don’t remember them at all, because our colonial/imperial media covered it up and shut it down, as quickly as they could.
In fact they made it seem as though Macaskill was some kind of victim because he was medically unfit to stand trial.

Interesting re memory and how it functions, or doesn’t! The pretendy lefty Graun and their ilk are going to pick at the details of the Murrell case for weeks now, my do they despise the SNP.
My family anf friends in NE England who also hate the SNP (I know, as if it’s their business or concern!) will no doubt be smarting at this but won’t stop to think about the £billions stolen by the rich during Covid19, and all from the public purse!
I feel damn angry at what’s happened and what Murrell has done, what an idiot, but honestly the Brit state have made sure to bring down one person in order to delegitimise and demonise the SNP as a whole. They couldn’t do a Willie McRae job on Nicola or Salmond, so they have used a fine tooth comb to get a conviction etc.
Sigh.
