Here’s the March 2026, response which still stands today
Craig Hoy mounting pressure on home workers
The Herald today has:
The Scottish Government faces a new transparency row over civil servants working from home as statistics are set to be withheld until after the Holyrood election. Pressure is mounting on SNP ministers to crack down on officials who refuse to work from the office as part of the Scottish Government’s hybrid working policy.
Where is this ‘mounting pressure’ coming from?
Anyone else? Nope, that’s it. Pathetic.
Is there any evidence that any half-decent journalist might easily access and use in her writing?
From a UK Government study of 25 290 civil servants with a 98% response rate across 34 departments, published in October 2020, under the Conservative Government:
The report finds that home working generally supports productivity and employee experience, especially with dedicated spaces, but social connection and collaboration suffer without physical proximity.
“The Herald today rehashing a story they got from the Scottish Cons in March”
Rehash being the preferred method we in Scotland must tolerate from the media, for the news that they state is the news where we are , but mostly only in respect to the news that they can link to #SNPBAD.
The BBC also are supporters of that above method as well.
Talking of the BBC , I note an article on their website where they are obviously seeking to generate apathy in the Scottish elections , mainly I suspect, because the SNP are polling so well and Labour are not.
On the main Scottish page and their Scottish politics page they have this article:
“I’ve voted since I was 18, and I’m 64 now, and I’m not doing it this year. I’m done“
“That’s my protest – none of them are worth bothering about.”
“Those were the words of Ottilie Fraser, who spoke to BBC Scotland in Perth”
“They reflect a broader feeling about politics at the moment – a disenchantment commonly referred to as “the scunner factor”.
“With pollsters detecting a lukewarm reception for every party and forecasting a decline in voter turnout, how could this apathy affect the result”?
“They reflect a broader feeling” ? (“lukewarm reception” for “every party“, well certainly for Labour and the Tories whose polling is not great is it).
Really , but I wonder is that broader feeling of “disenchantment” only with Scottish politics and the Scottish election, or is it mainly with the UK’s WM politics and the UK parties who have governed the UK in the past and also now.
Bad policies , cruel policies , broken pledges, austerity, no end to the cost of living crisis, scandals , constant U-Turns, reneging on promised support for Waspi women, targeting of the poor and vulnerable, protection of the wealthy few, divisive rhetoric to try to match Reform UK’s hate filled message and a UK media that only seeks to serve and so then only promote the political interests of those who own that specific media. (and who are all part of the wealthy “few”).
The BBC would certainly not be producing such an article as this had Labour in Scotland been in the same polling position as the SNP currently are.
I think we all know that if any voter apathy or disenchantment exists with politics then it has largely stemmed from Labour HQ , Tory HQ and also Reform UK.
However it is also very much the BBC themselves who have to take a lot of responsibility for trying to trigger so much despondency, to the extent where some voters then become totally scunnered , not just with all UK political parties, but in Scotland some of these voters mainly become scunnered with the SNP.
The fact that the BBC are trying to sabotage this election for the SNP, where a succession of polls have shown the SNP to be in the lead, is one of the main reasons why we never ever trust the BBC as an honest and reliable source of information or news, political or otherwise.
Fortunately for many people there is also a “broader feeling” of “apathy” when it comes to people not wanting to either watch or listen to most BBC TV and Radio news programmes or indeed any BBC debate programmes , and that is solely down to the BBC themselves.
Most viewers and listeners give a “lukewarm reception” to these BBC TV and Radio programmes that could be referred to as “the scunner factor”. Where we are seeing a “decline” in viewers and listeners for these various BBC programmes.
Perhaps the BBC should worry more about the “disenchantment” people have for their output and so then get their own house on order , that is before they try to sway (con) people into not voting in May in what is a crucial election , just so that they can then falsely equate this to being the fault of the SNP or rather those that they (too) often promote as being #SNPBAD.
The fabby pro Indy ‘X’ account Johnny Dundee posted this today:
“A record number of Scots have registered to vote in May’s Scottish election” declares BBC Reporting Scotland presenter. That’ll be that total apathy in the election we keep hearing about from the BBC and the rest of the pro-UK Government MSM in Scotland”.
Hmm, BBC Reporting Scotland presenter refutes the supposed news on the BBC website, or rather they prove that the apathy article on the BBC website was nowt more than a heap of S****, produced by the BBC to try to generate apathy in Scotland for May’s Scottish election.
BBC still trying to influence the news as opposed to actually reflecting what is the real and accurate news.
While working in (what is now HR) for Highland Council I gave advice on ‘Working from Home’ some teens of years ago. The Council was ahead of Scottish or UK governments in having a formal policy on this. It worked. Get over yourself Craig.
Reported today in some media , the continued interference of the war criminal Tony Blair.
Sky News online wrote this below:
‘Outdated and unaffordable‘ triple lock should be scrapped, says Tony Blair Institute”.
“The pensions triple lock should be scrapped, Sir Tony Blair’s thinktank has said” as “in a new report, the Tony Blair Institute (TBI) calls for the triple lock to be scrapped to prevent the state pension rising faster than earnings growth”.
“It labels the current system “outdated, increasingly unaffordable, and too rigid for the way people live and work” because it concentrates state-supported income support at retirement”.
“The thinktank argues a “lifespan fund” should be established instead which would require some people to work an extra five years to receive the same pay out”.
Also there was this below on the BBC website 3 days ago:
‘”Emergency handbrake’ needed on sickness benefits, Blair think tank says”
“The government should introduce an “emergency handbrake” to cut the number of people who are receiving health and disability benefits, a think tank says”.
“The Tony Blair Institute argues that the government should immediately implement a series of changes to reduce the number of people claiming these benefits”.
So is it not shocking that Blair is still getting publicity and attention from the UK media , but why ?
Meanwhile in other (relevant) news under the category of “I’m alright Jack” it appears that Tony Blair’s estimated net worth is widely estimated to be around $60 million (£45 million – £60 million).
One wonders if perhaps this same Tony Blair and his same ‘thinktank’, who seem to be mainly targeting the poorest and most vulnerable , ever then considers and so then suggests any potential changes to how the very wealthy people within the UK State could contributemore of their money via taxes , to then benefit those people who are far less wealthy within the UK State.
Surely for the wealthy that would be “affordable” ?
That apparently is a no go, as in October 2025 it was reported that “As of late 2025 and early 2026, Sir Tony Blair has expressed opposition to increasing taxes on wealth and high earners, arguing instead for tax cuts to stimulate economic growth”.
Wealth inequality is not of any concern to Tony Blair, after all he himself is very wealthy (greedy) , so why would he shoot himself in the foot in ever suggesting targeting the wealthy within his corrupt and dysfunctional UK State.
Tony Blair’s ethos seems to be one where within his UK State all UK governments should only mainly work “For the few (wealthy) not the many (poorer)”.
I’m just waiting on someone mentioning bringing back workhouses.
As it seems to be that the elites, like Tony Blair , regard the less wealthy and the more vulnerable to then be so very unworthy of receiving any State help via welfare benefits, so surely Blair and his ‘thinktank’s’ solution could be their version of 21st century workhouses.
Let’s never ever forget that Tony Blair, war Criminal, left politics as a disgraced and discredited politician who blatantly lied to the HOC about supposed WMD that did not exist, just to yet again have his British State join in with (help) America in an illegal war prompted by that other war criminal George W Bush (both Snr & Junior).
Also Tony Blair is no longer an elected politician in the UK and so he and his s*** ‘thinktank’ and all of his and their s*** suggestions can sling their hook, as both Blair and his s*** thinktank’s s*** suggestions are neither wanted , needed nor appreciated by any decent person.
As decent people care more for those other less fortunate people than those elites, like Blair, ever do or ever will care about them.
As elites like Blair only seem to be obsessed with feeding their own greed, all to try to accumulate even more vast amounts of wealth for themselves , all at the expense of others who are far far less wealthy than them.
Bloody evil that’s what Blair is, and so then I guess that he is very much a perfect fit for his evil UK State.
Sick of yesterday’s men all assuming that somehow they are all still relevant , that they can still dictate to us and so then they try to still feed off their former privileged status.
Reality is that no one really thinks that they should still have any significant influence or power to then still dictate what should and should not happen within the UK State, either now or going forward.
Simples in a functioning country , but seemingly far more complex within a dysfunctional State like the UK.
I’m disappointed to have missed out on MSP Craig Hoy’s stellar career to date. Does he have an agent for bookings?

The Holyrood Civil Servants are part of the UK civil service, unlike in N. I Ireland. So who should be doing the enforcing?
