    1. I had one at my door today, desperate to unseat the current SNP MSP. His anti-independence arguments were the same old same old:

      Scotland’s too poor; Scotland would have sunk into penury following the banking collapse but for the actions of the UK of England Govt (Gordy Broon); a newly independent Scotland would suffer years of austerity; Scotland spends more per head on public services than England thanks to England’s generosity (nothing to do with SNP policy); and on and on and on. He did manage to avoid the arrival of aliens. But our roads are breaking apart, our NHS is collapsing and Scotland in general is a mess. He will fix it. My breath is bated.

      Nothing has changed with these people since 2014. The needle has stuck on the record. His endless glossy leaflets and newsletters are printed in England.

      I can’t help wondering what he does for a living that he has so much time on his hands.

      1. Should make clear, he said our roads are breaking apart, our NHS is collapsing etc – and it’s all the SNP’s fault. He will fix it …
