So, 736 over 95s waited more than 12 hours in A&E in the period January to October 2025, 10 months. In an average 24 hour period, only one or two triaged as safe, over 95 year-olds, waited more than 12 hours in only one or two of Scotland’s 30 full Type 1 emergency departments

Why oh why, such dated data? Is there an improving trend from then he doesn’t want us to see?

95 is a fair age but they too can turn up with something not at all life threatening and based on the above, 736 makes a diminishingly small percentage of the 1.6 million who attend in a year, 0.046%.

Finally, ACH, why not tell us how many over 95’s turned up in A&E in that period so that we can do a wee percentage?
