  1. I had a look at Sarwar’s Manifesto for Change.

There’s a cracker lined up for NHS Scotland

I think it says Money follows the patient was a Tony Blair New Labour Reform introduced in the 2000s it introduced an NHS England internal market. The idea was that instead of block grants to hospitals, funding would be attached to individual patients, who could choose where to be treated – including, in England, independent sector providers (private hospitals). Those private providers would then bill NHS England.

Look at the direction is going in England under Wes Streeting.

The article is only 4 months old.

Has any of today’s coverage of the Labour manifesto launch mentioned money following the patient? Not that I can see.

Angus Cochrane on BBC Scotland’s website, in his list of Labour’s key manifesto pledges has this –

“Use NHS capacity across Scotland and the UK to end long waits”

It reads like a NHS UK in the making.
