The Herald – Beyond the headlines and into the swamp beyond belief or trust

The Herald is using the above in a tragic attempt to groom gullible adults out there.

They were using this in January this year:

When I saw the above being punted by the Herald, I didn’t know whether to laugh or…………laugh. It’s Trump-like in its mix of self-delusion and deep cynicism. They’ll be giving themselves some kind of Pulitzer prize, awarded at a ceremony hosted by Anas Sarwar.

I’ve long lost track of how untrustworthy they have proved to be these last twenty years of anti-SNP propaganda though, before that, they were long champions of corporate interests against those of their own readers.

I searched TuS for every post, these last 11 years, mentioning them and there are far too many to mention here. Here are some of the worst:

  1. January 25 2026 – They report supposedly high CalMac costs without mentioning that they are lower than in other ferry services.
  2. January 21 – They suggest a housing crisis ignoring Labour memos revealing that SNP has exceeded the latter’s targets.
  3. January 12 – They report suggesting ferry service ‘disrupting’ island life and ignore hard evidence that SNP policies have transformed it for the better.
  4. January 12 – The mislead on longer A&E waits, half as common in Scotland as in England.
  5. January 12 – They platform Labour to hide the truth that child poverty is and will be far lower in Scotland than in Labour-run England and Wales.
  6. January 12 – They platform Labour again to conceal fact that 95% of Scotland schools are in good condition up from only 62% under Labour.
  7. January 5 – They use dodgy research methods instead of Royal College of Emergency Medicine research revealing that corridor care is more than twice as common in NHS England.
  8. January 4 – Misrepresent ferry repair bills for CalMac though far lower than comparable services.
  9. December 29 2025 – Report firefighter industrial action but forget to mention far more per fire than under Labour.
  10. December 28 – Rely on dodgy Taxpayer’s Alliance report to argue for rail privatisation.
  11. December 27 – use selective statistics and ignore official data showing that rape offences are a staggering twice as common in England & Wales.
  12. Use on of their habitual tasteless and exploitative images of tragic children to hid Scotland’s achievements in tackling child poverty.

Actually, I hadn’t realised there’d be so many in only four weeks, so I think the point is made.
