BBC Scotland still acting as if it is an opposition party to the SNP in Scotland

By 4pm he’s gone.

BBC Scotland website yesterday : Headline – “Labour drops election candidate after fraud charge”

At 14.57pm that article , which was only added yesterday onto their site, was the 4th article on the Scotland main page, by 4pm above, gone and the 2nd article on the Scottish politics page.

The top article yesterday on both the Scotland main page and politics page was this:

“SNP candidate ditched over handling of Linden complaints”

(Note that according to the BBC website headlines, the Labour candidate was “dropped” but the SNP candidate was “Ditched”).

This morning it is still the top article on the Scottish politics page and now the 7th article on the Scotland main page.

There was also a reported (alleged) scandal that had been published yesterday morning by some newspapers that was linked to Joani Reid, the former Labour MP, that was not on the BBC website until much much later in the afternoon.

“Navy investigated links between nuclear sub commander and MP”

(Note no former party name mentioned of this MP)

That Joani Reid story was added after the SNP story on the BBC website, yet today that article on Joani Reid article is now the 9th article on the main Scotland page and the 2nd article on the Scottish politics page.

(So why is the SNP candidate article still higher, as an article, on both of those Scottish pages ?)

Also the Labour “drops” candidate story was added after the SNP candidate story as an article , so why is that also now lower on both pages as an article ? (the original SNP candidate story was under a different headline but an update on that story changed the headline to state she was now “ditched” as a candidate).

(Yesterday the UK (English) politics page also had the SNP Candidate story as an article, today it is gone from that page and now the Joani Reid article is on there, but already it is the 7th article, though if you scroll down that page it, the SNP candidate article, is noted in “Latest updates” ).

When the BBC cannot avoid publishing a story that is negative towards a pro UK party , then they just add it and then it descends very quickly as an article on their website until it finally disappears.

The BBC , still acting as if an opposition party to the SNP in Scotland.

Apparently “that’s their job”.

  1. I read the “SNP ditched candidate” article but couldn’t work out what exactly her crime is.

Whereas Labour MP Joani Reid! Two Faslane nuclear sub Naval officers! Anas Sarwer said it was “news to me“.

It’s news to all of us now Anas, however far down the BBC priority list it sinks.

    1.  “Anas Sarwar said it was “news to me“”

Yes that about sums up Sarwar, as in when he is unsure on how to respond, then he just pleads ignorance, all in the hope that in doing that it will then allow him to escape real scrutiny (he need not worry as more likely the media in Scotland will drop this matter sooner rather than later especially now just before the elections………unless , of course, it gets far far worse or develops much further, so then it just cannot be ignored).

Of course that is something he, Sarwar, would not allow the SNP leader to do or say, as in plead ignorance if this was an SNP MP…..as Sarwar would declare it was an SNP ‘cover up’.

I do find it hard to believe that absolutely nothing got back to the Anas Sarwar , the branch officer manager, in respect to Reid’s alleged intoxication and alleged inappropriate behaviour , if that is, the alleged incident was as bad as some are now reporting .

Eyewitnesses at the event are providing details.

Time for some transparency from Sarwar.

When was he told and by whom ?

If , that is, the allegation on this incident is 100% accurate.

Though, if untrue, then it does seem strange that “a senior naval officer was investigated last year over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with Scottish MP Joani Reid”.

The BBC article omitted, in their article, much of the newspapers allegations such as:

“An MP who was present on the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme visit stated that Reid was “extremely drunk” and was “all over” a senior naval officer during a drinks reception in the officers’ mess”

Also “t was further alleged that Reid acted inappropriately and, when a female officer organising the trip asked her to go to bed, Reid allegedly swore at her”

The BBC article reads like an exercise in damage limitation for Ms Reid.

Hard to believe this type of allegation really, that is one from the self appointed vocal moral Crusader that is Joani Reid, who is often known to pass judgement upon the SNP in various attacks by her upon them as the Scottish government.

A hard lesson she must learn, is that when one puts oneself out there so conspicuously (as in being on most TV channels and various newspapers incessantly carping about the SNP as the Scottish government) then eventually the spotlight may shine on you, but not in a good way.

      Medicine-Taste of- your own…..springs to mind……says Yoda.
