Breaking news: “Scottish Labour MP Joani Reid has said ‘she is not part of her husband’s business activities’ after he was arrested on suspicion of spying for China”
The BBC have reported that:
“Earlier, the Metropolitan Police said men, aged 39, 43 and 68, had been arrested in London and Wales as part of a counter-terrorism policing investigation under the National Security Act”
“Reid, who represents East Kilbride and Strathaven, said:
“She is “not part of” her husband David Taylor’s business activities”
She added: “Neither I nor my children are part of this investigation, and we should not be treated by media organisations as though we are. Above all I expect media organisations to respect my children’s privacy.”
(Well yes I agree make the children exempt from scrutiny , but not Joanie Reid who is currently a UK Labour MP,)
Also if you look on the website for the UK parliament , under Joanie Reid, and look at her registered interests, then the last one states this:
“10. Family members engaged in third-party lobbying”
“Name of lobbyist – David Taylor
Relationship – Spouse
Role – Director
Name of Employer – Earthcott Ltd and
Date registered – 2 August 2024″
So sorry , but it is not for her to decide who and what should be investigated in this situation but it is for others to decide that, unless she thinks rules applicable for other politicians need not be applied to her.
The BBC article continues in stating that:
“The men have been accused of assisting a foreign intelligence service under section three of the National Security Act, which was introduced in 2023 to target suspects accused of working against UK interests”.
Also “As part of the investigation, searches were carried out in London, East Kilbride and Cardiff” .
“A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, 4 March, we carried out a search of an address in East Kilbride on behalf of an investigation being led by Counter Terrorism Policing London”.
“Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch posted a video on X, saying: “The spouse of a sitting Labour MP has reportedly been arrested for spying, alongside the partner of a former Labour MP”
(Then of course we also had Peter Mandelson recently arrested for allegedly releasing UK Government information to his pal Jeffrey Epstein , this happened when Mandelson was the UK Business Secretary and when Gordon Brown was the UK PM).
Ms Reid’s former prominent profile on various UK MSM and rogue media outlets like GB News, where she ranted on about the SNP failing to address what she declared was a huge problem in Scotland with Grooming gangs (prior to any actual official inquiry or investigation verifying this) .
So we may now see that her former prominent media profile suddenly becomes one that is non existent , as it appears she is using the Fawlty Towers Manuel excuse of………I know nothing…….as well as also using the Greta Garbo one of seeking solitude in saying “I want to be left alone”.
The run of bad luck for Labour , much of which is self inflicted, just keeps going on and on, to the point where, it seems it will never stop or indeed “Change” as a constant situation with Labour.

Joani elected in July 2024 ;
Hubby’s ”Lobbying” firm established August 2024 .

Anas Sarwar still clueless upon self awareness for both himself and his party.
He has posted this:
“Broken promises. Betrayals. Heartbreak. Some fiction has it all”
Together with a video , with naff background music (very apt in this case), where he declares:
“It’s world book day”
“I don’t really do fiction but let’s look at a classic”
“The SNP Manifesto”.
“A thrilling take of big promises and even more plot twists”.
“Shall we read a few Chapters” ?
“Chapter one , fix the NHS…..spoiler……..Scots are waiting longer for treatment. More people are forced to go private and our NHS feels broken”.
“Chapter two, we’ll close the attainment gap, sounds good, but in reality Scotland’s schools are falling down the international league tables and every day kids are being let down”.
“Chapter three, deliver a National Care service, instead millions wasted, social care packages cut and too many not getting the support they need”.
“Chapter four, replace every play park, instead council budgets cut and councils say they don’t have the money to deliver it”.
“Chapter five, they promised to deliver value for money but instead public sector bodies costing more than £6 billion , hundred of millions of pounds wasted on Ferries that never sail and a new prison costing a billion”
“Every few years there’s a new cover but the same storyline, big promises, lots of footnotes”
“On world book day we celebrate great stories, but the story the SNP have been selling Scots is not the same story that Scots are living. It’s fiction, that’s why it’s time for a new Scottish government that’ll turn the page on 20 years of the SNP and deliver change”.
Where do you start with the above !
Well firstly Sarwar loves to write and speak , not just fiction but pure fantasy also.
So then all of his promises in his manifesto in 2024 and also HQ’s manifesto , bears no relation to the reality of what we are now having to live under with a Labour UK government .
Also what about Labour in Wales , how are they performing compared to Scotland , as it seems via the news that both in the UK and also in Wales, it is a case of so many promises and pledges were made by Labour , that then failed to deliver.
So this video by Sarwar would win the first prize in pulp fiction as one who obviously had a huge lack of self awareness in reality.
Honestly if this Sarwar’s best effort in campaigning for his party in Scotland then really there is no hope for him, he seems to expect the public to think that Labour are a party who have implemented actual change for the better while the opposite is the case……….
