In the Daily Record, 2 July 2010:
LABOUR has selected union official Matt McLaughlin as the party’s candidate to fight next year’s Scottish Parliament election. Mr McLaughlin was chosen as the party’s standard-bearer for the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley seat at a meeting of local Labour Party members on Monday night.
Mr McLaughlin said that people were disappointed with the SNP administration in Holyrood who had “failed to deliver on a host of election promises ranging from smaller class sizes to a fairer local tax system”.
“The recent cuts announced to NHS staff and local services show that only Labour are opposing cuts to our public services,” he said.

The irony of a Labour candidate promising smaller school classes and more NHS staff, will not escape you.
Today, Matt is on BBC Scotland, in Bosses on six figures at under-fire health boards to get 10% pay rises, with:
Unison’s head of health, Matt McLaughlin, said: “There are thousands of NHS workers across Scotland taking on extra work and responsibility for little thanks and no pay.
“This news will feel like a real slap in the face for hard working NHS staff and patients who are being let down daily by the very same people who have awarded themselves big bonuses.
“[Health Secretary] Neil Gray needs to step in now and end this unfairness.”

Neither Matt’s nor Unison’s affiliations with Scottish Labour are mentioned.
Finally, ‘under-fire’ health boards?
The correct term in Scotland is ‘Support and Intervention Framework (escalation levels)‘ and no Scottish board is at level 5 indicating any safety concerns for patients. There are six being monitored at lower levels for, eg, financial problems, but none for patient safety, including waiting times, issues.

In England four trust maternity units, alone, are subject to police investigations. 1, 2, 3, 4
Additionally, a broader national maternity and neonatal investigation (led by Baroness Amos) is examining 12 other trusts for similar failings (e.g., high perinatal mortality).5

“Neither Matt’s nor Unison’s affiliations with Scottish Labour are mentioned”
Of course not, as omissions are essential when the media want to hide truth and facts about an individual on either their past or current association with and their allegiance to a (pro UK) political party.
Also with him, Matt McLaughlin, now as a Labour candidate stating this in 2010 as reported by the Daily Record:
“Mr McLaughlin said that people were disappointed with the SNP administration in Holyrood who had “failed to deliver on a host of election promises“
(“SNP administration” not Scottish government then, that speaks volumes does it not as to the mindset of Matt McLaughlin, whose obvious allegiance is firmly with the so called Union that is supposed to exist within the UK as opposed to the actual Trade Union that he works for).
Breaking news for Matt and the Daily Record:
People in the whole UK , including Scotland, are currently extremely “disappointed” with Labour as the new UK government at WM who have “failed to deliver on a host of election promises” and many of these “election promises” were promoted by Anas Sarwar in the 2024 Labour GE campaign.
Also many of these “election promises” in the 2024 GE campaign were also promoted on the front page of the Daily Record.
One Daily Record front page example in the 2024 GE campaign being this:
“Vote for ending child poverty” (with a picture of Gordon Brown) then the Daily Record also added that “Former Labour PM backs Labour leader Starmer’s moral mission”.
“Starmer’s moral mission” ?
That did not exist and it still does not exist.
As to the many scandals within the English NHS that are , as scandals, attributed only to the respective English NHS Trusts and not the respective past or current political party, who either previously governed at WM or who now govern at WM, then that is par for the course with UK politics.
Of course the BBC are now more than willing to amplify anything negative upon the SNP as the Scottish government as they, the BBC, are a crucial part of Labour’s Scottish election campaign.
The fact that the BBC in Scotland constantly regurgitates and excessively promotes news that they want the public to consider as #SNPBAD news is probably the reason why someone on line stated that **”BBC Scotland now compromised” and so they are **”indistinguishable from a Labour spin machine”. (**these quotes from MSM Monitor posts on ‘X’).
Hopefully fair minded people who live in Scotland will see through this obvious favouritism that the BBC in Scotland are clearly adopting for Labour and so they will be able to easily reject it as fake news from a media source that is very unreliable and untrustworthy.
