In every English university town your child is far more likely to be a victim of violent crime than in any Scottish one but the Daily Record has a different story

In the Record today, SURGE IN CAMPUS SEX ATTACKS with the above positively weird choice of image in the middle of it.

Here are the facts, they won’t tell you.

From How safe is your city? in the Complete University Guide for 2025:

Above, the safest University cities in England and Wales in terms of incidents per 1 000 population.

and the most dangerous, above.

So, what do you think the data for Scotland might reveal? The stereotypes are still with us, but:

In every English university town your child is far more likely to be a victim of violent crime than in any Scottish one.

I haven’t seen this reported anywhere.

  1. If any data which indicates reductions in exclusions from schools is published, immediately there are statements from performatively angry members of the teacher unions saying how bealin their members are about this. Then there will be the cliches – tsunami of misbehavior, teachers living in fear, blackboard jungle, pure bad etc.
