Police Scotland is urging the public to “remain alert” following a Hanukkah terror attack on Bondi Beach in Australia.
At least 12 people have died after a shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, which authorities have said was a terrorist attack against the Jewish community.
New South Wales Premier Chris Minns confirmed in a press conference that one of the gunmen was dead, and another was in custody.
Police said earlier on Sunday that the second shooter was in critical condition after being injured.
A total of 29 people have been taken to hospital, including two police officers, in the latest update from authorities.
New South Wales Police have said the number of casualties is expected to change as the operation continues.
Police added that they had found what they believe to be several improvised explosive devices in a car nearby, and bomb disposal units are working to make them safe.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.45pm local time, after reports of gunfire.
Police Scotland has confirmed that they are carrying out patrols near Synagogues and are in close contact with faith leaders.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Johnson stated that they have no intelligence regarding a threat in Scotland, however, any suspicious activity should be reported.
They take their time getting to that last point.
Why?
Contrary to media hysteria, there was not one anti-Semitic violent attack recorded in Scotland in 2024
The most recent report on anti-semitic attacks in the UK, in 2024, from the CST, published 12 February 2025, prompted some excited media coverage at the time but today the hoisting, in Edinburgh, of a Palestine flag in sympathy for the genocide in Gaza and in line with the UN position on Palestine as an independent state has enabled the above front page mince.
From Antisemitic Incidents 2024:
CST recorded 3,528 antisemitic incidents in the UK in 2024, the second-highest total ever reported to CST in a single calendar year.
Only one of the cases could be described by the researchers as ‘Extreme Violence include any antisemitic attack with the potential or intention of causing loss of life or grievous bodily harm (GBH).’ 126 cases were described as ‘violent.’ None of these took place in Scotland.
74 of these all cases reported took place in Scotland, with 8% of the UK population so, per head of population, that would be equivalent to just below 900, around a quarter of the rate.
Bizarrely the only case reported in Scotland and used in the report is this:
A series of antisemitic leaflets were seen in northern Scotland. They were produced by the Goyim Defence League and claimed that “Every Single Aspect Of Feminism Is Jewish”

This is an example of the guiding principle of the Daily Mail’s founder, Lord Rothermere, that the job of the media is to ‘provide the British public with its daily dose of fear.’
What happened in Australia was appalling, but, so are all shootings, such as the one at Brown University in Rhode Island. Such atrocities should not be reduced to ‘league table’ mentality that some are more worthy of our sympathy than others.
Disgracefully, the media are doing that to a fair extent.

Meanwhile this is how the Daily Mail reported this on the front page story of their English HQ edition:
“Thousands of innocent drivers have been clocked for speeding due to a fault with every speed camera on smart motorways in the UK , the Daily Mail can reveal.
See bad news in England = UK bad news.
While when any news determined as #Bad within Scotland well that #BadNews is then always confined to and so promoted as #ScotlandBadNews and never #UKBadNews.
So all the Daily is actually revealing here is their below standard supposed ‘journalism’ that seeks to, yet again, misinform readers that an English only problem was then , according to them, a UK wide problem.
Time and time again this always happens with them , so one can only deduce that this is then very much a deliberate action by them.
Hence why they are often ridiculed , vilified and so then rightly defined as #FakeNews merchants as part of the UK’s right wing media.
