Which scottish voters (with a small ‘s’)?
Is it not really, in reality , just actually some scottish (with a small ‘s’) voters ?
Some who may live in Scotland and so then get to vote in various elections.
However their allegiance is not with Scotland but instead it is elsewhere.
So of course they , some scottish (with a small ‘s’) voters, vote for the party that they think will ensure Scotland stays within their UK ….as a part of England.
So for Ms Garivelli to write the above as if there is now a major shift in opinion within Scotland about Farage is basically ludicrous.
However it does play into this combined narrative that the UK media are so desperate to communicate , which is that there is no Scottish exceptionalism that exists on anything , compared that is to what is happening within England, including support and votes for Farage’s different political pretend parties.
Of course we know, as does she, that this is not true.
Just as we as a nation , via a majority, did not vote Tory then neither will we vote, as a majority, for these new Tories , who are TBH Tories in all but party name.
I think we all know who within Scotland will both support and so vote for these new Tories in Scotland and so does Ms Garivelli.
New Tories who seem to have more former actual Tories in their pretend party than the actual real Tory party.
The majority of political defections are , after all , mostly from the Tory party to Reform UK , so why then would voters in Scotland think that this latest Farage pretend party was somehow different from and so better than the actual Tory party ?
Reform UK obviously appeals to Tory politicians , hence their defection, so then there has to be some connection and similar position that they, these former Tories, have identified with their former party and Reform UK, as in the same former Tory party that the majority of voters in Scotland rejected at different political levels in various elections.
We have never had a Tory Scottish government and we will not have a Reform UK Scottish government, indeed any votes they, Reform UK, will gain will be via the over promotion of Farage’s party by the media, both here in Scotland and elsewhere within the UK State. However votes gained for them next year will also be at the expense of the Tory party and perhaps Labour as well.
As to Tory Peer Malcolm Offord defecting to Tory, well that’s not a shock is it . He’s just the latest to see the writing on the wall for what is now his former party, as in the one who awarded him a peerage and so now the one that he has abandoned. Another Rat abandoning the sinking Tory party ship, if, that is, the polls are to be believed.
I am sure that we will now see Offord appear yet again on BBC Debate Night and also BBC QT (when on a infrequent visit to Scotland) speaking the same old S**** that he spoke when formerly he was a Tory panellist on these programmes.
I wonder though if the Tories had won the UK GE last year whether we would then have seen the likes of Offord and other Tories defect to Reform UK. I think not.
Of course Offord was another Tory who was rejected by voters in Scotland when he once stood as a candidate for the Scottish parliament………….and then lost !
Perhaps instead of papers like the Guardian writing this S****. They could instead communicate to voters in Scotland Farage’s real opinion of Scotland .
When on the day after the Scottish Referendum on Independence on the 19 September 2014, Farage stated this:
“We’ve had a lot from Scotland but the tail cannot go on wagging the dog any longer” and then he also said “English taxpayers should not be bound by promises made by the three main party leaders during the referendum campaign”.
I wonder then with such a low and dismissive opinion of Scotland why then he, Farage, now wants to stand any candidates in our Scottish elections next year for his latest pretend party, Reform UK ?
Also does Baron Offord agree with what Farage formerly said about Scotland or will he just pretend it was never said at all and so try to convince us that an English Nationalist party like Reform UK really cares about Scotland ?
Farage wants to constrain Scotland.
He wants to take away Scotland’s devolved powers and also all of our (own) money .
Perhaps even ending devolution, which will be easy for him to do as he seems to be keen to adopt the same playbook as Trump, in him seeking to create a similar future dictatorship within the UK to that now happening within America.
However if he did win power within the UK in 2029 he will also want , just like other UK parties, to still profit from our Scottish resources and also our world renowned food and drink products. (and also our Scottish Tax revenues).
However for the people of Scotland then Farage is determined that under a new Reform UK government we will again be totally under the thumb of , as in over controlled by, a UK government at WM again.
In the meantime he seems to want to try to infiltrate our Scottish parliament with former Tory politicians and former Tory supporters who now represent his pretend party, Reform UK , in order to create a lot of disruption and animosity. (more than even the current UK parties create there).
Farage may indeed gain seats in our parliament , as some voters (former Tory ones) in Scotland are either always within the categories of being “None so blind as those who cannot see” or are wilfully within the category of “None so blind as those who will not see”.
Some voters just do not understand what they are really doing if they intend to vote for Reform UK next year, while others know exactly what they are doing in voting for Reform UK and that is an obstacle that we have always faced in Scotland via a certain type of voter.
The media of course will love to promote that Scotland now “embraces” Farage and his pretend party, just as they once told us that Ruth Davidson won in Scotland when she was the former Tory branch office manager, that is when the Tories once gained what was only an extra few Tory MP’s in a former UK GE .
The £9 million pound donation to Reform UK via a former Tory donor who lives elsewhere in the world , should be enough to convince all voters that with this kind of huge donation then Reform UK are not going to do anything different or better than the Tories (or Labour).
In fact just like other UK parties Reform UK will pander to and so try to fulfil the needs of the wealthy and their financial interests.
As to the ordinary man and woman well they will be overlooked yet again and also denied all of those things that they should be entitled to as citizens from their government. However that is neither Reform UK’s nor Farage’s intentions should they gain power within the UK State.
So one can only hope that the Reform UK (rising) bubble will eventually burst and it will be most amusing to see then what all of those defected Tories do, including the unelected Bureaucrat Baron Malcom Offord , a former nominated Tory Peer and now a Reform UK Peer……….will other Tory Peers follow him, who cares, as most of them in the HOL’s are dinosaurs anyway.
If anyone in Scotland votes for Reform UK next year then they will eventually reap that which they have sown……unfortunately so will others who did not vote for them.
Trust Labour HQ to be so S**** as a UK government, just as we on here predicted they would be, and they too have helped pave the way for Reform UK’s support rising in some places , mostly within England, in Labour HQ allowing Farage to dictate UK policy on immigration , Brexit and many other UK policies.
So if you vote Labour you now get Reform UK (either actually or a Labour party version of Reform UK)…….and Labour are also a new version of the Tory party……….so I think most voters within Scotland should wise up before it’s too late and just stop voting for UK political parties…………including the latest pretend one.

Eh , that happened long before he , Offord, was a Tory Peer…..as in a long long long time ago………..also………he stated…..

Is he concerned that Scottish politics is not British enough and that what he really wants to happen is that Scotland will once again only be ruled by WM, via a UK government, aka an English dominant government.
(Actually an English Nationalist one if Reform UK win the next UK GE).

Firstly it’s really not the SNP who are “rotten” but we do know who is.
Secondly how can a Reform UK Tory traitor via a second attempt at being an MSP (with a different party this time) make Scotland prosperous, proud, heathy and happy when the Reform UK leader says things about Scotland like “We’ve had a lot from Scotland but the tail cannot go on wagging the dog any longer” and then focuses his concern on English taxpayers over Scottish ones in him also saying “English taxpayers should not be bound by promises made by the three main party leaders during the referendum campaign”.
Who is Malcolm Offord trying to kid (also It is not possible to renounce a life peerage, but peers can resign their membership of the House of Lords. Members of the House of Lords are disqualified from becoming members of the Scottish Parliament under legislation passed earlier this year)
So not a noble act by Offord but merely a way for Offord to try to gain an (undeserved) seat (yet again) in our Scottish parliament and then, if successful, no doubt , he will at a later stage, move on elsewhere to WM….his preferred parliament.
Farage said of Offord that “He will take Reform UK Scotland to a new level.”……..yes to a new level of Reform UK hypocrisy……also Reform UK Scotland is a contradiction as they are an English Nationalist party. (verified by Farage’s support for England over other nations in his UK State and too his previous dismissive and critical comments on Scotland as a Nation within the UK…..Dog…tail…wagging).
(We all know what Nation within the UK is considered and so treated as Top dog do we not, both politically and via media , Arts etc -not through merit just via dominance….as in that nationality that is the same nationality as Farage’s).
One of Offord’s former Tory colleagues (anonymous) called him a “treacherous snake” in a Edinburgh Evening News article.also in the Edinburgh Evening News one Tory said of Offord that “It seems all you need to get an endorsement is to have deep pockets” and also in that article it noted “Offord’s support of the Conservatives goes back at least 14 years, with the businessman donating £15,000 as recently as November 2019“.
I do hope now that we see Offord as a prominent spokesperson for Reform UK here in Scotland, as he comes over as an insufferable , arrogant and clueless elitist.
He is arrogant , disagreeable and also a huge sense of entitlement .
He seems to talk down to people (voters) rather than reaching out to them , as he thinks he knows best , so then he, as a typical UK politician, prefers to tell us what we says we in Scotland all want and need as opposed to ever listening to what we actually say we need and want.
Now he is another supposed disenchanted Tory Ha Ha
Yet he has tolerated being a Tory supporter, a Tory Donor and then a Tory Peer for a long long time. In 2007 he first donated to the Tory party , when in 2007 he was reported as having donated two amounts of £25,000 to the Tory party. (It has been reported that he has allegedly donated £150,000 to his former party the Tories).
Offord was also reappointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Scotland Office by Liz Truss……and yet even after that disastrous and very short reign with her as the Tory UK PM…..still Offord stayed with the Tory party.
It was also noted that he tried to become the new Rangers FC chairman but that bid failed…..of course he did…..
He was also part of the Vote No Borders Campaign that created an advert claiming that after independence Scots would struggle to get treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital , the hospital objected that they hadn’t been consulted, the claim wasn’t true and asked for the advert to be withdrawn.
Great Ormond Street Hospital is a leading UK/international centre for rare/complex cases and only complete Rats would try and exploit children in producing a fake advert for their campaign that used children as pawns in their (non) argument to try to win the vote for the No campaign in 2014.
So again Reform UK (old and new ones) sources attacking Kids , be it Glasgow children or children anywhere in Scotland, as it is children who would use that hospital in London , that’s Malcolm Offord in a nutshell.
The same Malcolm Offord who now says as a Reform UK candidate , that his (alleged) ” vision for Scotland inside the UK, is to restore Scotland to being a prosperous, proud, healthy and happy country.”….does that then include access to Great Ormond street Hospital for our Scottish children Malcolm ?
Honestly Scots people please wake up and do not let the elite donors buy the election next year for rogue English Nationalist parties like Reform UK and so do not vote for the likes of Malcolm Offord (an apparent future part time Baron)…………just think if the Reform UK bubble does burst then how loyal do you think the likes of Offord will be to them then ?
Meanwhile in other news the BBC are delighted with this defection , as now Offord can be platformed on all of their news and debate programmes within Scotland (on a loop)_ ……….another #SNPBAD Fest coming too soon …………courtesy of Baron Offord and his English Nationalist party and also the British Broadcasting Corporation……….
Reform UK indeed…………as in they will reform the UK to such an extent that Scotland will really become one of the poor nations of the world if, that is, we do see a Reform UK government ever happen before independence.(which we then will never get with them in charge).
The Tories and now Labour as UK governments have both tried to negatively impact our Scottish economy and our Scottish industry and Reform UK would finish the job post the 2029 UK GE.

This list of your top ten reasons why no-one should even contemplate entertaining a smidgen of diarrhoea dripping from his scaly pie hole should be written on an A4 and a photocopy given to every SNP or Green msp who happens to appear beside him (if he’s lucky ) on every TV opportunity 😉

Bella Caledonia has done a great article on Offord.
Where some within the media are seeing this as a ‘great catch’ for Reform UK, no doubt Offord will be at the top of the List with Reform UK and may be their leader in our parliament.
Alas as BC states others will have the receipts on Offord’s past as a Tory , which he cannot assume to just try to wipe the slate clean and start afresh………..his past is his Achilles heel as is his new chosen party.
I urge the SNP to read the 2014 BBC articles (more than one) where Farage is clearly dismissive of and opposed to Scotland in his remarks that he makes where it is obvious his only and true allegiance is with England.
Now that is something Offord will have to try to explain and perhaps pathetically try to brush off , but mud sticks and that mud exposes Farage as an English Nationalist.
I noted above the remarks Farage made in a BBC article on the 19 September but here are other remarks that he made on another BBC article dated 25 September 2014 under the header “UKIP leader Nigel Farage says England needs more powers”.
“The United Kingdom could break up if people in England are not given greater powers, UKIP leader Nigel Farage has warned.
“Nigel Farage made the comments as UKIP activists prepare to gather for their annual conference in Doncaster”
“His remarks come after the Scottish referendum vote and as politicians continue to debate how devolution might change across the UK”
“He said it was imperative the wishes of people in England were addressed“
Also in the article Farage stated (on behalf of his country, England) “I’ll tell you something – if we don’t give the English a fair voice, there won’t be a union because England will break away. England will say ‘enough is enough is enough‘.”
(So I wonder would that just be an automatic action minus a referendum , as it is assumed by people like Farage that England need not asking any permission if they no longer want to stay within the UK).
“Questioned on whether he was arguing for a two-tier parliament the UKIP leader replied”:
“Yes that’s right. There is an alternative and that is we set up a separate English assembly, and have another complete layer of 500 extra politicians. I don’t believe there’s any demand for that” (well why say it then , other than to try to incite rage in people within England, as a fake injustice being promoted by Farage and we all know incitement is a speciality of Reform UK politicians).
(In 2014 there was already within the HOC 533 English constituency MP’s so Farage wanted another 500 on top of that, also the UK government retains control and funding for English public services as well having reserved powers for the whole UK. So it is a ridiculous notion that England has no voice when it dominates the WM parliament in having a majority representation compared to the minority of other nations within the UK).
BTW at WM in the HOC there is a weekly half hour session on Scottish Q’s (also known as #SNPBAD) where we often hear English MP’s asking Q’s to the SOS against Scotland, yet we had Farage also state in this 2014 BBC article that “he had written to Scottish MPs and asked them not to participate in debates in the House of Commons”……..”where Scottish MPs are allowed to discuss matters that relate only to England”.
(Is it really only always related to England or do some of these matters debated also effect Scotland and other Nations in the UK State too………that’s the nub of why this UK State is unworkable for all nations within it).
Farage then said in this BBC article:
“The Barnett formula itself has to go anyway, even Joel Barnett who invented it admits that,” he said”
“We have to look at this differently. Everything must be on the table – our constitutional arrangements, our funding arrangements must be on the table.”.
(Is Farage trying to suggest that somehow Scotland is at a financial and constitutional advantage over his England and that they , England, are the benefactors and so we in Scotland are the beneficiaries).
He then said “”This is not about breaking up the UK – it’s about actually saying, ‘it’s about time England got a fair deal from this’, because for the last 18 years, we’ve not had a voice.”
” We’ve not had a voice.”……..that’s Farage declaring who he supports (allegedly, after himself that is) within his UK.
(Of course the truth is that England has always had a dominant voice and presence within the UK , be it politics, media , the Arts , Sports and where their larger population is the kingmakers in all UK GE’s, hence why the likes of Farage pretends to pander to them only as a fellow Englishman) .
Now that is the baggage Malcolm Offord will have to carry around now , as a new (Tory) Reform UK candidate within Scotland….as well as his own past Tory baggage that he assumes he can just discard and so then it is to be forgotten about and so ignored going forward.
The SNP have the intel on Offord’s past and also on his choice of the new party he wants to stand as a candidate for.
(They could even cast up his assertions made on behalf of the Tory party and his assurances which now seem all like empty words now that he has defected to the new Tory party, Reform UK – but reform to whose advantage , not Scotland’s that’s for sure).
So they , the SNP, should use that intel to expose just how futile it would be for any voters within Scotland to vote for either Offord or any Reform UK candidates here next year……as they will do nothing for us if they gain any future UK power.(they will also likely always cause disruption, discord and try to prohibit any progressive bill from passing in Holyrood that will advantage Scottish people living in Scotland).
We have all of the proof via the Horse’s (Farage’s) mouth that he is no friend to Scotland but instead his public support and loyalty is with one nation only and that will be Offord’s obstacle to try to overcome in a convincing way, will he try to use the tactic that this was all said in the past by Farage……..well if that is the case then all past statements via the SNP must also not then be noted by Offord , surely ?
If that is they are past statements that he thinks reflect badly upon the SNP, fair’s fair is it not (though Reform UK do not play fairly).
England First. (tough sell for Offord, but he will try to sell us his BritNat lies while trying to obscure or gloss over his UK leader’s past remarks that greatly favour England over Scotland).
