Readers will remember the scale of the police investigation into £600 000 given to the SNP by its own members for a campaign, and which they then, according to one complaint from a member of Sperm of the Gall, spent on something else. A blue tent had to be put on Nicola’s lawn, on advice from intelligence, just in case there was a body too.
More recently a massive fraud case in Ayr required a big blue tent on the Low Green but, on advice from intelligence, local police decided not to proceed so the big tent is now available.
Luckily there’s new demand for it to accommodate a sizable contingent of local Lib Dems including their MP, Alistair Carmichael, above.
From the Shetland Times, a home of real journalism, today:
In his ‘Letter from Westminster’ for The Shetland Times (6th November), our Liberal Democrat MP Alistair Carmichael asked: “Why does the SNP always find it so difficult to get money into island communities?”
In the same week we learned that Shetland Islands Council, “led” by Emma Macdonald, Alistair’s favoured Liberal Democrat candidate to be our new MSP, had failed to find enough environmental improvement projects to benefit from a fund of some £850,000 from the SNP government.
Emma’s “wonderful team” diverted about 90 per cent of that earmarked money into routine council expenditure. Apparently, the auditors think this is acceptable. Not many other people do.
Perhaps Alistair’s next Letter from Westminster will ask what’s going on if a council leader can’t manage to spend money that SNP ministers provide. Perhaps not. For a very long time now, his letters have, in effect, told readers that the Scottish government is an organised conspiracy against Shetland.
This must be fully investigated and heads identified for rolling well before any court case. Hire some new staff. We’ll need to carry this every day until May 2026.

Read all about it……….
BBC North Brits?

Hootsmon?
Nope, you wont read it there, or anywhere else in Scotland’s colonial mejah!

Any ”letter ” from Alisdair Carmichael needs to be investigated for veracity , given his proclivity towards telling ‘porkies ‘ when the SNP is involved !

All perfectly acceptable, nothing to see here… UNLESS IT’S THE SNP!
Just the usual from British State politicians and the British State Press.
Both operating in plain sight here in Scotland. The enemy within.
Thank you John, and thank you Shetland Times.

Good for the Shetland Times in actually holding politicians to account. Real journalism indeed.
