People attracted to Scotland after 18 years but repulsed by England after just one year of Sir Keir and in fear of Nazty Nigel

Professor John Robertson OBA

The Telegraph, still loyal to the Cons, suggests 257 000 Brits fled the threat of higher Labour taxes , in 2024. Unionist politicians and media commentators have argue the same will happen to Scotland after SNP taxation changes.

Has it so far? From the National Records of Scotland in August 2025:

Main Points

  • Net migration into Scotland in the year to mid-2024 remained high (+56,400 people); however, it was lower than the previous year (+77,500 people).
  • Total migration into Scotland is a combination of international migration and migration from other parts of the UK.
  • International net migration has decreased from +63,500 people in the year to mid-2023 to +42,600 people in the year to mid-2024 (the same level as in the year to mid-2022). While net international migration has fallen in the latest year, it still remains historically high.
  • Average net migration from other parts of the UK has been fairly stable over the last decade, averaging around +10,000 people. It was higher in the year to mid-2023, at +13,900 people, and the year to mid-2024 at 13,800 people.
  • Estimates for mid-2023 have been revised to take into account the latest long-term international migration figures. Provisionally published figures estimated net international migration for the year to mid-2023 as +47,700 people; this has now been revised to +63,500 people.

So net migration into Scotland was 56 000 and net migration out of the UK was 257 000?

What might be the reasons for this difference?

  • Running from Nigel’s Nazi UK
  • Lower unemployment
  • Better education
  • Better NHS
  • Lower crime, against women, minorities
  • More GPs, nurses, midwives, health visitors, police officers, teachers
  • Better, cheaper and safer, housing
  • Lower council tax
  • Better refuse collection
  • Cleaner water, drinking and swimming
  • Better ferries
  • Lower road accidents
  • Better views
  • A team in the World Cup!!!
  • etc etc

  1. Should we demand that these ”migrants” from England wait 20 years to become Scottish citizens and frisk them for valuables ?

Or is that too Labour ?

  2. People go to Dubai and then they have to work. Many perks but they have to work extra hours.

Scotland’s population stayed the same from 1900 and before. 5million. The population changed after Devolution 2000. 5.4million. Brexit has lost Scotland £Billions. Scotland did not vote for it. Scotland is one of the least densely populated countries in the world.

Scotland needs its own migration policy. The Clearances. Higher unemployment. People emigrated and left. A 40million disaporia. Australia, Canada, US etc.
