For more than a year now the ‘Scottish’ media have been obsessing over the risk of rape of women by biological males identifying as woman, especially but not exclusively in women’s prisons. They have made much, everything at times, of one case where a biological man, then identifying as a man, was convicted of rape and subsequently identified as a woman with a view to being placed in a women’s prison. They were unsuccessful in that.
Why has this case been so widely and repeatedly used?
Police Scotland records rape perpetrators by biological sex, confirming no biological males identifying as women have been recorded as female rapists.1
It’s pathetically all they have.
Surely the opposition parties and their media chums would never be so dishonest?
Who is really at risk?
Transgender women in male prisons face substantially higher sexual assault risks than cisgender inmates (up to 13x in some studies), nearly all by biological male perpetrators.2
In the last year, in Scotland, there were 2 897 reported cases of rape and attempted rape. All were by men identifying as men. 3
80% of trans respondents experienced transphobic hate crime in the past year; 25% experienced or were threatened with physical assault, twice as many as in the cis population.4
Surely the opposition parties and their media chums would never be so dishonest?

Crime is a gender issue. Mainly committed while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Abused women do not get legal aid. Cohabit have to put in a claim within a year (1/3). It can take years and cost £thousands.

O/T another long comment….apologies.
Nigel Farage made a speech where he said that:
“The BBC has been institutionally biased for decades”
Indeed I agree.
As tonight on BBC QT , the former Tory MP Danny Kruger who defected to Reform UK , is yet another invited panel member from Farage’s pretend party Reform UK on that BBC programme.
Also another Reform UK party member who is an unelected member yet a very prominent person within Reform UK ,is yet another one who is often invited to be a panel member on BBC QT , that is Zia Yusuf.
In fact Zia Yusuf has been a guest on various other BBC programmes as has Richard Tice and also even Nigel Farage himself has often been a guest on various BBC programmes, including BBC QT.
(Not forgetting also the supposed ‘Scottish‘ version of BBC QT , which is BBC Debate Night, has also welcomed a defected Tory, Thomas Kerr, onto their panel a few times , as a now -unelected-Reform UK Councillor)
Not sure why they, the BBC, have Farage or anyone from Reform UK on any of their TV and Radio programmes, as if Farage is ever challenged he immediately becomes defensive……..a tactic that a pretend politician like him will resort to using , just to try to avoid answering any awkward questions being asked……and also as questions or a challenges , they are ones that he, Farage, obviously has no answers to.
So if Nigel Farage believes that the “BBC has been institutionally biased for decades” then why does he and others in Reform UK agree to be on any BBC TV or Radio programmes ?
Also as Nigel Farage and others within Reform UK often criticise the BBC via the rogue TV channel, GB News, so then why does the BBC promote and platform Farage’s pretend party ?
Perhaps some people who intend to vote for Reform UK should be asking Farage why he and others from his party agree to appear on any BBC programmes when he , Farage, has declared the BBC to be “institutionally biased”……reality is that most of the BBC’s “institutional bias” has benefitted people like Nigel Farage more than others.
He knows that as does the BBC.
Of course for Farage to decide to boycott the BBC , whom he constantly criticises and so declares them as being biased , then he, Farage, would first need to acquire principles……..however that is what he clearly lacks , which is then why he and others within Reform UK are always willing guests on any BBC programme.
The BBC have produced some great programmes upon Nature and Drama however they are woefully lacking in the News department , more so in their branch office in Scotland, especially when covering Politics.
The mess the BBC is currently in has been of their own making and Scotland has been subject to many a poor edit when they, BBC Scotland news teams, have covered politics here.
MSM Monitor recently added a video online via his ‘X’ account to demonstrate how very biased BBC Scotland was (and still is) where he included these below examples.
“Four months before the 2014 Indyref BBC Scotland ran a fake story claiming David Trimble had warned of violence in Northern Ireland if Scotland voted yes. The story was a complete misrepresentation of what Trimble had said. The former NI FM angrily denounced the claim”.
“In 2013 BBC Scotland reporter Glenn Campbell claimed Luxembourg opposed Scottish independence. The Luxembourg embassy subsequently issued a letter of complaint about Campbell’s claim. The complaint was never reported by BBC Scotland. The BBC refused to confirm receipt of the letter”
“On the weekend before the 2014 Indyref the BBC broadcast a speech by Gordon Brown live across the UK. Brown used the platform to dupe Scottish voters into believing a No vote would lead to Scottish Home Rule. It was a lie. We have less power now than we had then”.
MSM Monitor also noted “BBC Scotland presenters reading out anti-Yes newspaper front pages exactly one week before the 2014 Indyref. The station was biased then and it’s even more biased now”…
The front pages they, BBC Scotland presenters, read out were headlines on “Lloyds announcing they will move HQ’s to London after a YES vote”, “The Union turns the heat on YES” , “Big businesses add to pressure on Alex Salmond as poll puts NO six points ahead”, “Shell & BP the industry would be best served by being in the UK”, “Mortgage risk if Scots vote YES, it says that mortgage lending could dry up if Scottish home buyers if Scotland votes for independence, major lenders are preparing to restrict lending in the event of a YES vote”, “Concerns rise over the currency that an independent Scotland would use and the outlook for house prices, so it follows on from Mark Carney the BOE governor who faced questions from MP’s about the currency implications for Scotland yesterday”, “The bosses of BP and Standard Life who voiced their concerns about the impact of a YES vote” and also “Economic fears they say puts stop to Salmond bandwagon” .
Yet Farage and most of the same UK media who are now currently lambasting the BBC for it’s bias were previously (and still are) willing accomplices and so complicit with the BBC in their obvious bias against Scotland becoming independent and also against the SNP.
Unfortunately we all know why it suits Farage to declare that the BBC is “institutionally biased” , while ignoring the other TV channel that he works for, GB News, and their obvious bias and propaganda that they pump out daily (including a lot of it on Farage’s own GB News programme , which is for him, a nice little (big) earner on top of his MP salary and also the too many other earnings he makes outwith his ‘job’ as a MP).
Honestly UK politics and UK media are a joke………not that we in Scotland are laughing , as we have to be subjected to both daily and so then must endure both of them………..while also being told that we, Scots, are the benefactors of a supposed (too) generous UK that subsidises us while seemingly no one promotes or links that same declaration in respect to England. (aka political English exceptionalism).
The only thing that really needs “Reform” within Scotland is the current status of Scotland still being a part of the UK……..we need to be independent and so then we can all genuinely laugh at the UK media and also at pretend UK parties like Reform UK from a (safe) distance and so then let them subject their political and media bias onto each other……instead of us …..as they all do now.

Aye, any excuse to regurgitate the ‘Isla Bryson’ story, the ‘trans-man’ who never was – ” After initially being charged as Adam Graham, Bryson self-identified as a woman while awaiting trial ” – Who paid him to do this will probably never be known, but I can think of likely suspects, all of whom are politically motivated….

You know everywhere within the UK it was always, as an example, ‘Isla Bryson’ whose name that keeps coming up and so used in relation to a man identifying as a woman and so being placed in a woman’s prison in Scotland.
However there was a case of a man in England.
“A transgender prisoner who was once in a women’s jail was a person called Karen White, who sexually assaulted female inmates while on remand at HMP New Hall in Wakefield.”
“Karen White was born male (as Stephen Wood) and identified as a woman while awaiting trial. Prior to this, White had previous convictions for a range of offences, including indecent assault, indecent exposure involving children, and violence”.
Strange then that pretty much all of the UK aka English news programmes and newspapers focus only , as an example, and so refer only to, one Isla Bryson as an example of a man in a woman’s prison is it not ?
As if it is the solitary case of this happening .

It was the ‘self-identified as a woman while awaiting trial’ that stood out like a convenient sore thumb during SG’s deliberations over the amendment bill, even his ex-wife called it out as fakery…
There will always be a ‘wrong un’ who may somehow sneak through all the checks and balances, but Graham had neither applied nor could apply with such a case hanging over him… – All casually disregarded, not least by HMS James Cook…
The ‘Karen White’ case was altogether different, and from 5 years earlier…
