From the Ben Kinsella Trust, a charity that tackles knife crime through education and campaigning, yesterday:
New figures [England & Wales] show a 5% drop in knife-enabled offences, with 51,527 incidents recorded in the year ending June 2025… Down from 54,215 the previous year and 7% lower than pre-pandemic levels.

The comparable figure in Scotland, 5% up, on the previous year, was 1 958.
All things being equal, you’d expect the figure for England & Wales to be 11 times greater, 21 538 but was, in fact, 51 527, between two and three times higher!
