The dominant English press whose publications stick a ‘Scottish’ label upon their various editions that they distribute within Scotland will always tell us that there is no “Scottish exceptionalism” in respect to anything….or anyone.
It is these ‘Scottish’ editions that are the ‘favourite’ newspapers that the BBC in Scotland always refer to and so discuss on BBC GMS Radio programmes as being the ‘News where we are’……as examples of how #ScotlandIsS**** and why it is always only the #SNP who are #BAD.
Like for example………as ‘newspapers’……….
The Times (supposed ‘Scottish edition) …..**below** are some of it’s various headline articles ….in it’s, so called ‘Scottish’ edition………as examples of how we , Scots, need to adopt self loathing as opposed to having any national pride………..
Read all about it………that is in the news ‘not where you are’ but as dictated from elsewhere…..that tells us Scots that we are not “exceptional” or indeed that we are no better than some English people who protest (badly), riot (badly) and who always vote for parties led by Nigel Farage and who also, as people, voted for Brexit……

May 2018 – “Exceptionalism shows it’s Ugly side” – “Scottish exceptionalism is the worst kind of hubris and on its heels has come a nemesis in the shape of the racism that has flourished unchecked”
June 2025 – “Perhaps Scotland isn’t as exceptional as we would like to think” – “This is what is sometimes called Scottish exceptionalism, the notion that Scots are inherently progressive (unlike the racism-prone English)”
July 2025 – “Myth of Scottish exceptionalism is why mediocrity reigns” – “The dull truth is that Scotland is largely an average place in which mediocrity is treated as either monumental triumph or crippling calamity”.
5 Days ago – “Nigel Farage has shattered the myth of a ‘progressive’ Scotland” – “For nearly half a century, progressive Scotland has celebrated the supposedly left-wing character of the Scottish voter”.
Yes the above are just some of the articles to demonstrate what ?
That ‘The Times’ newspaper publishes a Pro or an anti ‘Scottish’ edition.
That , as a supposed ‘Scottish’ edition, just loves to promote their skewed version of propaganda ‘news’ to keep us Jocks in our place………as dictated by them….
Where they , as an obvious anti Scottish newspaper, seem to be motivated in talking down Scotland in them telling us Scots that we are no better, indeed invariably we are just as bad, as some of the worse people who live within England .
So why do we , wrongly, according to The Times, think then that in many instances we are far better than some within England ?
As………. who is it in Scotland that they, The Times, are referring to within Scotland who they promote as behaving in ways that are non progressive and so are indeed racist ?
Those who wave the saltire or those who wave the Union Flag….????
Well let’s be honest here we are not a nation of Saints……but which Nation within the world is………. but why should we in Scotland have to contend with a print media, whose HQ’s are all based in another country, who as a media , take a hostile and a negative position in respect to our country , upon us as a people and also upon our Scottish politics as well….
Then they, as a media , still expect us to keep buying their newspapers so that we can read about how terrible we are as a people , how S**** our country is and so then we have nothing to be proud about…..that would then make us masochistic as a people surely….for us to then keep wanting to buy and read this kind of obvious S****.
UK Newspaper sales in decline….really ?………one wonders why ?
After all the UK rule is always that if it happens within England (riots etc), then it is defined as a UK occurrence …….and so it is never ever just promoted as being just confined to happening only within England….but if something negative happens in Scotland then we need to own it as it being a “Scottish” incident or event….as it is never ever defined as being a ‘UK’ wide occurrence…..
So then we Scots must never see ourselves as being ‘exceptional’ compared to some #BAD people in England……..as we , as part of their UK, must always be dragged into their #BAD and #Negative events/situations/occurences…..so then the rest of the world’s media publishes articles that declare ‘UK Riots’……when not one riot had happened in Scotland !
Perhaps The Times assumes that they themselves are somehow exceptional in being allowed to continue to write so many negative articles about Scotland and Scots under a supposed, but not really, ‘Scottish’ edition of their newspaper……
Is it “progressive” of them to continually berate us as a Nation while in doing this they still want us to keep buying their newspaper ……I would say that is regressive and also surely an act of self harm for them financially…….but that is what happens when you have a foreign media who have infiltrated your country in order to try to keep your country under the control of their country…………(England).
If you really want to read truth…..keep away from all UK State (English) media (and all of the House Jocks media too).
As their , media’s, versions of the ‘news where we are’ is one that is likely to make you , as a Scot, feel worthless, useless, #BAD as a people………. and so then as a people always apparently (but not really) needing the so called ‘broad shoulders’ of their UK State…….when we all know those UK State ‘shoulder’s have slumped…. way way way down………and so they are not able to support anyone within their UK State……especially us in Scotland…….as we can support ourselves….and so we will do far far better without all of the bad press distributed by their #BAD UK media………..

Post the attacks on the synagogue yesterday…….
“Sir Keir Starmer has promised to do “everything” in his power to protect Jewish people as he said Britain must defeat antisemitic hate“……
However what is Starmer doing to “protect Muslim people within his Britain” as surely “Britain” must also “defeat Islamophobia hate” as well ?
He also said that “hatred against Jews is rising once again” but surely he also recognises the same is applicable “against Muslims”…..
Let’s be honest here…. much of that hatred against Muslims stems from the language being used by people like Starmer, also other politicians (including pretend ones like Farage) and also the British media…….against immigrants……….with new stringent rules to be enforced to only allow them, as Immigrants, to remain in Labour’s Britain or their UK if they, as Immigrants, fulfil and comply with these new hostile and strict measures adopted by this new Labour UK government…..(as it seems to be Farage who is still dictating the British Immigration policy for the future within their UK).
Then in an example of sheer hypocrisy some of the British media reported that “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the “barbaric terror attack””…….well he , Netanyahu, is an expert on “barbaric attacks” especially against innocent Palestinian men, women and Children in Gaza.
No one anywhere should be reviled , hated or indeed killed just because of their religion or their beliefs.
However it is not just anti Semitic hatred that some people have within this UK State that we sometimes call Britain and also refer to as the UK (if we include NI)…..
As there is also , with some ‘Brits’, a huge intolerance and hatred against Muslims, and also against some ‘British’ Christian religions……..where within some parts of the UK we see bigotry is rife , yet seemingly that is accepted and so then ignored by much of the media and politicians.
Let’s also not forget what this UK, via a previous Tory UK government, did to black people who came to the UK predominantly from the Caribbean, between 1948 to 1971, to try to help a post war Britain rebuild………. and then they were treated horrendously and very very very much badly wronged via the Tory Windrush scandal………….that is where some of these people, who had legal status to stay in the UK , were then detained, deported , and denied services.
The introduction of the Immigration Act 2014 and the Tory UK government’s “hostile environment” approach (now also being adopted, as an approach to all immigrants, poorer ones that is, by this new Labour UK government) , where many long-term residents of Caribbean origin faced immigration enforcement………..with them lacking formal papers to prove their lawful status, individuals were denied access to benefits, healthcare, and housing, lost jobs, and some were wrongly detained or deported……….
The Windrush scandal remains largely unresolved for many victims…..the compensation scheme has been criticized for it’s complexity, delays, low offers, and insufficient support, leaving many unable to apply for help.
As of October 2024, under a Labour UK government’s watch, only a portion of the £1.5 million in additional funding announced in 2024 had been distributed to the victims.
So Starmer may refer to his ‘Britain’ as being a “Britain of compassion, of decency, of love.”…..as quoted in an article on the BBC website under UK Politics.
However many people who are originally from elsewhere and so who are regraded by some ‘Brits’ as being ‘others’ ….all now, beg to differ……….as they have lived experience within Starmer’s Britain…….
Where as a Britain…..it has mostly shown them a hostile British State ………..that for them has lacked any compassion , lacked any empathy, lacked decency and has shown no love towards them……..and that’s only via a lot of the UK political parties…..and also not forgetting much of the ‘British’ media too…….whose front page headlines makes it clear that Britain is only for Brits………..
(Though when we need ‘others’ to do the jobs that Brits do not want to do…or cannot do….then we offer a temporary visa to ‘others’ to fill these gaps in the job market…….as if we were doing them a favour ……).
FGS…….please people of Scotland wake up……..to all of the UK State’s falsehoods promoted by UK PM’s and the UK media………..or else continue to suffer for what seems like an eternity………….

Britain feels very far from being a country of ‘compassion, decency and love’ to anyone in a minority group (including Scots, denied their human right to a government of their choosing), or who is poor, sick or disabled, does not have a white skin or whose first language is not English.
Claiming these attributes is a case of deliberate hypocrisy in our increasibgly unequal society!

We all know the English are very adept at promoting themselves even in times of abject despair and dismiss anything that departs from their ideology which makes them feel less inadequate. Anyone who has sat near an English person in a cafe or restaurant will know they love to talk (usually loudly) and invariably about nothing of any consequence. It is ingrained in them as children to believe arrogantly that England is best and get frustrated when the world is no longer listening which I guess is why their media lashes out at the SNP who they know have given Scotland a semblance of stability. Unlike the Devolved nations politically they of course swing from left to right searching for the holly grail that will restore their status and place in the world that has long passed. As such they find it difficult to adjust to their very mediocrity and jealous of other nations including Scotland that are succesfully looking to go a different route.

I do find it amusing that of the 4 Times articles cited, the first was by the pretentious McColl, the second and last by the even more pretentious MacWhitterer and the third by the utterly pretentious Massie-Flogitoff, all serving the same distraction to the exceptionalism of their benefactors… – As Danny Dorling observed only 5 weeks ago, London HATES what Scotland is doing to improve the lives of ordinary people.
To your first comment, hopefully the muppets who posted this “LBC” piece haven’t taken it down, probably the worst example I’ve seen of propaganda beyond Nick Robinson’s effort in 2014, in this case to distract from IDF’s kidnapping in the Med https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YV-LvEIatuA? – FFS “the Territorial Police” ? – It’s the Met, not a a riot unit in sight, the frame rate altered dramatically to imply mayhem at speeds which would snap a spine. What is Eylon Levy doing these days ?
