Scotland is already energy secure but obviously England is not…. hence why these

Ed Milliband decided Zonal pricing was a big ……no go………as apparently it would have benefitted Scotland……..as this would have meant our energy prices in Scotland would have been lower than places in England……. and that, for Labour HQ, was a big no no.

(However it was a big fat YES YES to Scotland supplying England with electricity via large sub sea cables…..which was promoted as “”electricity superhighways” to transport renewable energy from Scotland to England, (which was promoted as ) “increasing the UK’s energy security and helping to meet net-zero targets”…..)

“UK’s energy security” ?………really ?

(Scotland is already energy secure but obviously England is not…. hence why these “two multi-billion-pound projects” happened via EGL1 & EGL2).

Also Ed Milliband is only interested in telling people in his UK that the Labour UK government will bring down their energy prices……..but where within Labour’s UK?

Well in September 2025 this below was part of a press release online via the UK Government website…….

“Great British Energy is already delivering savings to the British public at a local level, following its investment of around £200 million in solar and renewable energy projects on schools, hospitals and public buildings across the country, with solar panels already starting to cut bills for vital public services”  

The above press release statement is in reference to England….as he, Milliband, had previously tweeted on ‘X’ specifically where these investments were happening as part of Labour’s UK government projects ……..so not actually for the “British public”…….

Meanwhile last night BBC Reporting Scotland broadcast the extremely ‘serious news’ (in their supposed ‘news where we are’ programme) to us the people of Scotland in respect to news from the Labour party Conference………..which was that…..

“Sir Keir Starmer had said “The flags of the four nations belong to us all”.

Really ?

That’s not true though is it ?

(Also it is so very obvious that this is only being said by Starmer now …….because of the ‘local’ elections happening next year in both Scotland & Wales….where it is currently showing that Labour are flagging in the polls in both places.…..FGS must we be subjected to Keir Starmer obviously patronising us……just to try and get our votes next year for his political party……..that is in the colonies of his actual Nation/country, which is England).

If we are talking “Flags” then I am old enough to remember when Ian Murray once berated the flag of Scotland being used in a way that demonstrated our pride in our Scottish Nation…..as he said “You can’t eat flags”……(though the Union Flag seems to be quite ‘edible’ to Ian Murray…..and also to his boss Keir Starmer as well)

If we are talking flags and Nations then here below are some very recent tweets on ‘X’ written by Keir Starmer…………

First a post by Starmer to the (Women’s Rugby) ‘Red Roses’ team which included a picture with two St George’s flags (as we know one flag is never enough for Starmer)…..and the flags were placed either side of a letter that had been written by Starmer with a salutation that stated “To our brilliant Red Roses”

(“Our” now who would that be….the “four nations”…..nope as some of those other Nations, within that four, have their own National Rugby Women’s teams)………….

So the 27 September post on ‘X’ states:

“On behalf of the whole nation, wishing @RedRosesRugby the very best of luck in today’s World Cup Final. Already you have smashed records – the biggest women’s Rugby World Cup in history, hosted here on home soil. We are all rooting for you”!

Also another tweets on ‘X’ by him …….also in September 2025. (to the England Women’s football team)………there is a pattern here by the (non) neutral UK PM.

“Very proud to have a @Lionesses shirt up in 10 Downing Street”.

“History makers — inspiring the next generation. One team. One flag. One nation”

Sorry what ?

“One team. One flag. One nation“…………..yet in the Labour party conference Starmer said it was the “flags of the four nations”……..that ” belong to us all“…………

Nope he . Starmer , wants Scotland, Wales & NI to bow down to the British Flag …………while his own Nation, England, is the only one that is allowed to step out of having total allegiance to British Patriotism ……….that is , as a ‘patriotism, one that is being force fed to the other Nations within his UK…………. and so England alone are allowed to also promote their English Nationalism via all of the dominant English political parties masquerading as UK political parties within their UK State.

Simples…….but not really is it ?

  4. Here is some more Breaking news….on the BBC Website (and also noted in other media)………….but this one is linked to the Tory party…………

    “Firm linked to Baroness Michelle Mone must pay £122m after breaching Covid PPE contract, judge rules”.

    But wait is it just Baroness Mone at fault here in this scandalous Tory UK government affair…….

    Well not if you watched the recent documentary on ITV (broadcast late at night on a Sunday……..) which was called:

    “The Covid Contracts: Follow the Money”……….and this was advertised as:

    “A compelling documentary tells the untold story of how companies with little or no track record earned (Tory) UK Government contracts and made a killing from Covid”

    This was an exposé in a ITV documentary that “investigated how PPE contracts were given out and also the sheer scale of wasted equipment, and they spoke to a whistleblower who felt ‘disgusted’ by the money made by (some) suppliers”.

    As a ” high-priority ‘VIP lane’ was established by civil servants to deal with offers coming via Tory government ministers, MPs or senior officials”.

    And “The VIP lane led to the approval of contracts worth billions of pounds” but some of the companies given these contracts “had never made PPE or any kind of safety equipment“.

    “Meanwhile, (actual )experienced safety equipment suppliers (who said they already had vast amounts of this equipment ready to supply) and with decades of experience say they tried and tried again to contact the (Tory UK) government to offer their services, but were being ignored”

    (One person in this documentary , who owned such a company, said that eventually they, as a company, had to deal direct with NHS Trusts themselves and in some cases that meant they were not paid for supplying their Personal Protection safety equipment to hospitals).

    “A civil servant who worked in procurement at the Department of Health felt they were buying kits at ridiculous prices, not negotiating enough and not trying to get the best deal”………..

    “By the end of the pandemic, the government’s expenditure on PPE left it with enormous stockpiles, ten billion pounds’ worth of equipment, which was never used“. ( the Tories over ordered and result was billions wasted where some incinerated and others stored this PPE….at an additional cost to tax payers………..)

    The programmes also specified which Tories , current and ex Tories, referred these inexperienced companies for the fast track VIP lane for PPE contracts….names noted as referrals were “Dominic Cummings, Liam Fox, Lord Agnew , other Tory Lords and an ex Tory MP as those who all recommended sources for the VIP Fast track lane for PPE”.

    Also , although Michelle Mone was assumed to be regarded as responsible for what she herself did in this Tory scandal………..there were some who did think that she was indeed the ‘Tory sacrificial Lamb’ that they , the Tories, were offering her up as their nominated ‘Scapegoat’ in what was actually a far far far bigger Tory scandal involving more than just her, as in the Tory Peer Baroness Michelle Mone………

    Also all of the other companies inexperienced in PPE ,who were awarded these VIP fast lane contracts via a Tory referral……….are apparently , as yet, not being investigated by NCA ???

    Also the same “fast track VIP contract process” was applied to England’s Test & Trace (that is the one that was seen to be useless and was controlled by the Tory peer Baroness Dido Harding…..initially the Tory UK government denied that to be the case….but then they eventually they had to concede that Test and Trace was indeed also subject to their Tory VIP Fast track lane)

    In January 2024 Keir Starmer gave a New Year speech where he said:

    “We need to clean up politics. No more VIP fast lanes. No more kickbacks for colleagues. No more revolving doors between Government and the companies they regulate. I will restore standards in public life with a total crackdown on cronyism”.

    This documentary stated that, so far , Labour have not got rid of “VIP Fast Lanes”…..

    Also……….Labour peer George Foulkes on a SKY TV News programme…..on the 19 September this year…..

    He was asked about a new act of parliament to remove Lord Mandelson from the HOL ……………

    Foulkes response : “Well I’ve looked at it in the case of Michelle Mone who is being investigated by the National Crime Agency and eh it seems it’s going to , it would be very difficult to do that. And to suggest that Peter Mandelson doesn’t enhance the reputation of the HOL’s I wonder if someone like Michelle Mone , who is being investigated by the National Crime Agency, or Lebedev , the son of a Russian spy, actually enhance the reputation , so I think you have to be vary careful when you make these accusations”

    So being a Labour Peer in the HOL’s who was a close friend of a known paedophile enhances the reputation of the HOL’s……..what kind of Labour party ‘values’ does that represent then George ?

    Then every time you hear any Tory politician berate the SNP for being involved in scandals, wasting tax payers money as a government , #Bad Ferries etc etc then just remember what they, the Tory party, have done, and not just via the above scandalous affair of the VIP Fast lane for Covid contracts and also the English Test & Trace system ………..which were both very controversial and scandalous………but also remember too the Tories awarding some of their party donors (and also a PM’s brother- Jo Johnson as in now Baron Johnson) with lifetime Peerages in the HOL’s……..

    #Cronyism (Malcolm Offord was a former Tory donor and also a -failed- candidate for the Scottish parliament in 2021 where he came 5th……then he was (rewarded for failure) in being awarded a peerage- so then he became Baron Offord)…………..and he also became an unelected (by the public) member of the previous Tory UK government’s Scottish office …..

    Try looking at others……as in some UK parties and all of the #BAD scandals, controversial incidents, decisions etc they are connected/linked to as parties (and as individual politicians also) ……..including some via the Lib Dems too (David Steel/Cyril Smith, #FrenchGate Alistair Carmichael and alleged serious complaint(s) via Emma Walker)…………..

    1. Also is anyone (either a former or a current Tory MP/government Minister) , including Michelle Mone, to be charged for this very much exposed Tory scandal………….

      And does Baroness Mone get to remain a Peer within the HOL’s……..if so, how is that seen as being acceptable and appropriate ?

      Is anyone within the media asking these Q’s………….including the media within Scotland….as she, Mone, is meant to be ‘Scottish’ so it is very much relevant as ‘Scottish’ news…..”where we are”…..surely ?

      (As the BBC previously have done enough ‘puff pieces’ about Mone’s ‘road to success’ as a ‘Scot’ so let’s also have a news article and also a report on BBC Reporting Scotland about Mone’s deserved downfall and what should also be her rightly losing her title and so her place within the HOL’s……….as who is funding them within the gravy train that is the WM HOL’s) ?

      How was it again that we, Scotland, were meant to be Better Together, with the political system that exists within their UK ?

      Time surely that we, Scotland, came to be…..far……Better (being) Apart from their UK political system….and so no longer a part of their UK State.

  5. Had intended observing on Liz S’s comment earlier, but happy to see John promoted it to an article of it’s own, where the comment is more fitting.

    Millipede’s comments on zonal pricing are best summed up by the Grauniad article of 10th July “The government has abandoned plans for “zonal pricing” that would have charged electricity users in the south-east of England more than those in Scotland, saying that a single national price would help ensure the system was “fair, affordable, secure and efficient”. ” – They had NO plans for zonal pricing, they fully intended to continue ‘Anal pricing’ which benefited only the investor bubble in the south-east of England who are their principal donors.

    Now let’s roll back to the 1990 privatisation of UK energy, vaunting as it’s core principle ‘nearest the source pays less’ with that nebulous source being ‘THE NATIONAL GRID’ beginning bizarrely at the poster boy Battersea Power Station and ending at the Watford Gap.

    So now it’s an “Ah, but…” because some pictish folks in ‘thar be dragons’ territory are getting mightily pissed off after years of being ripped off despite increasing change in production but no “Change” to Tory or Labour energy policy as it might upset THEIR donors in, you guessed it, the south-east of England.

    Millipede was forced to back off on zonal pricing because it would threaten the profits of the investor class – 99.9% of investors rely on the steady stream of subsidy to curtail power output – That’s why they invest, and guess where the investors dominate, SEE… SEE no evil…

  8. Covid was funded £270Billion over two years by the UK Gov. How much was totally wasted.

    Brexit has lost £Billions. Scotland did not vote for it.

    Westminster cutting the welfare care budget. Increasing the Defence (attack) budget. Scotland paying too much for Defence. EU shared Defence costs. Now lost.
