I’ll be quick, very quick, with this frankly awful piece on the Herald‘s front page today.

First, that’s ‘investigated‘. Remember everything has to be investigated. The above infantile adding up to get a big number neither tells us the direction of any trend nor does it tell us how many were actually convicted. My table above does. Revealing or whit?

The number of police officer convicted of a crime is falling to 0.03% of the total of 16 700 officers.

Sigh, I am taking a wee break, today!

  1. Aye, finally found this ‘joshpizpom’ piece of nonsense https://archive.ph/QEgpy, his cousin ‘pishedouttaisskull’ clearly hadn’t been available…

Take the first blatant lying EXCLUSIVE front page headline of “1,344 officers from Police Scotland investigated over criminal allegations” now scroll down to “The number of investigations have risen year on year, from 124 in 2021/22 to 136 in 2022/23, 151 in 2023/24, and 190 in 2024/25. 78 cases were investigated between April and July 2025” – Total to 2024/25 = 601 for 4 years is an average of 150 per year – Even if you take the 79 cases during 7,000 officers protecting the MAGA bigly visit from the ghost of Janey Godley, it’s still quite simply peanuts… The greater question is from whom did the “Statistics reviewed by The Herald” come from, the office of ACH-him-again, Flailing Findlay or the Anas-wi-teeth but “read my lips” ?

Josh Pizzuto-Pomaco should go far, very far away and reconsider his career in lousy contrived journalism.

  2. Off topic I know but.. The Telegraph has just listed the top 20 of Britain’s biggest rail operators from best to last with Scotrail coming second top just after Merseyrail.

Hands up those who think this will be in the Herald?

Nope, their latest moan is “Complaints soar over Scotland’s hot busses, trams and trains”

It shows you the depths the Herald has now reached when even the Telegraph promotes the efficiency of Scotrail.
