Funding a political blog to fight for Scottish independence while sitting down

  1. What you do is amazing but I am not convinced you are preaching to a significant enough audience from the figures you previously posted to make much of a difference to people’s opinions. Are you in direct and regular contact with the SNP rebuttal unit for instance? because that is the most direct route to SNP Ministers with your findings and they are the ones who need to have the information asap in order to minimise damage done on BBC breakfast and TV AM. Keep up the wonderful work that you do of course but make sure it reaches people who are in a position to REALLY make a difference.

    1. SNP rebuttal unit?

I give them money but see little activity by them. Certainly not rebutting anything much.

Have a look, two non-rebuttals, at the moment: https://www.snp.org/tag/research-and-rebuttal-unit/

I know a few MSPs follow me but the leadership cannot publicly endorse/use my posts because BBC Scotland will label anything I do as somehow partisan regardless of my always sourcing my claims.

My problem is aging and tiring but with little in the way of funds to pay for help. One research assistant would cost £40 k.

I’m finding it tough to understand how so many will not pay even £5 for a thousand well-researched posts every year.

I’m near to giving up and retiring again.

      1. Please don’t give up John I read and like all your blogs every day. I can set up a standing order for £10 per month as I have for several other worthy Independence good causes. I wish I could do more but I am 69 and still work 70hours and 7 days a week. You are up against the massively overwhelming Unionist Media so the real question here is how on earth do you get the message across however convincing the evidence?

  2. I donated a few quid recently but nowhere near what you need. I still think YouTube would be a better platform with many more viewers (Home and abroad) who’d pick up on “Scotland” in the title. Get the word out to the masses and ignore the ba’lochs written by unionists incapable of fact checking or critical thinking. We’ll never persuade those people, concentrate on the Indy-curious and hit them (as you do now) with well researched and substantiated facts. I saw you on The Scotland Channel, you are an amazing presenter. John Lawson.

  3. SNP have it right. The have abandoned the negative rebuttals that felt like passing on blame. Folk are fed up with that childish rubbish. The new posts I feel are better received and more informative than what was a very negative way of dealing with it. It also gives MSM less to pick up on. That said your posts are what we need to keep us sane against the lies of MSM.
