From Safer Communities and Justice Statistics Monthly Data Report: August 2025, published today:

Fall in emergency hospital admissions due to assault since 2014-15. In 2023-24, there were 1,691 emergency hospital admissions due to assault, including 438 due to assault with a sharp object. These were, respectively, 33% and 18% lower than in 2014-15.

  1. ‘No Knives, Better Lives’ -a well-designed programme delivered to young people in their local area. It helped young people understand the dangers of carrying knives & the long-lasting damaging effects to offenders & victims of knife crime. Not sure if programmes like this are delivered in rUK.

  2. I was watching a Youtube channel about the US killings of those two wee kids, 😦
    and someone in the comments from England said that in England and Wales there were almost 600 ‘homicides’ 2023/24, more than half were due to knife crime. No guns.

    I think that’s quite high whatever the means, it may be more now as well. Terrible.
