The suffocating, intense domination of Scotland’s communities by British Army forces after Culloden is often understated by historians but it’s hard to see the above as other than a brutal and thorough suppression of any surviving independence movement.
Further, the myth developed after 1746 and perpetuated for the purposes of indoctrination as late as my own historical education in the 1960s, that the ‘Jacobite’ rebellions were entirely Monarchist and Catholic rebellions rather than a wider pro-independence struggle has been fully debunked by, for example, Murray Pittock of Glasgow University:
The Myth of the Jacobite Clans was first published in 1995: a revolutionary book, it argued that British history had long sought to caricature Jacobitism rather than to understand it, and that the Jacobite Risings drew on extensive Lowland support and had a national quality within Scotland. The Times Higher Education Supplement hailed its author’s ‘formidable talents’ and the book and its ideas fuelled discussions in The Economist and Scotland on Sunday, on Radio Scotland and elsewhere. The argument of the book has been widely accepted, although it is still ignored by media and heritage representations which seek to depoliticise the Rising of 1745. Angry Pict @SymbolStones has been tweeting about the early success of the Jacobites in liberating Scotland and Charles Stuart declaring the union dissolved. Time for a reappraisal of the movement which could be described as a liberation movement – next time for a republic. Will check out Murray Pittock’s new book.
I read that Banff was under military occupation for 50 years after Culloden. May have been in J.T. Findlay’s “Wolf in Scotland” which has a chapter on Banff, perhaps because of its shipping link to the continent.

l am looking for clarification on this. The Contract of the Equivalent was signed by 173 male Lords to decide the future of Scotland become an annex England. There was no democratic vote given to the public and therfore less than 0.1 % of the population had what seems to be they’re god gi en right to dictate our nations outcome.

“Suffocation” you say ………well we are all about to be “suffocated and sickened by something that has just happened”……as in 24/7… here it comes.
England’s women have won…….forget the UK or Britain as this is 100% England First, England alone and England only.
So …..let’s wait on that tweet on ‘X’ from the English PM who masquerades as the UK PM.
Earlier today he tweeted this:
“The @Lionesses have changed the game — breaking barriers, making history and inspiring the next generation. Tonight, the whole nation will be behind them. Come on England”!
Then he, Starmer, included a picture of himself when he was at the English women’s football training ground before the tournament began, where he was holding up a England football shirt that had “Starmer and number 10” written on the back of the shirt. There was also a caption on the photograph that stated “The Lionesses have lived up to their name – let’s bring it home again”.
(BTW technically Starmer is wrong as the last time they won the Euro’s it was at Wembley….so technically they were already at home so this time, if they do win, it’s not really a case of “Let’s bring it home again” is it, as this would be their first win of this competition on foreign soil #JustSayin)
Of course now since winning today then this time ‘ in Switzerland then technically they are “bringing it home” but for the first time only from abroad.
This ‘tweet’ from Starmer was one of many tweets of encouragement and praise he has sent to them, the women of England’s football team , both prior and during this competition….however the Welsh women’s National football side also qualified for this competition but the, checks notes, UK PM, Keir Starmer, chose to ignore that fact, indeed on the day they , the women’s Welsh team, played the English women’s team the UK PM, Keir Starmer , chose to ignore it. So no encouragement for the two UK nations before the game or indeed on the following day there was also no congratulations and commiserations for both sides.
A supposed UK PM confirms his lack of neutrality (again) as one who leads an English Nationalist party who currently are an English Nationalist government in a English parliament based in the English capital of London.
He does this by only consistently recognising one nation’s ‘National sporting side’ within the UK at international sporting events.
BTW the Prince of , checks bloody notes, ‘Wales’ was also in attendance today at his ‘Country’s’ (England) football game . The same Prince that is no longer the President of the English FA as he resigned last year, so there was FA reason for him to be there in a professional capacity, but obviously there was every reason for him to be there as a member of the English royal family who masquerade around as the supposed ‘British’ royal family, so then his lack of neutrality too in sporting competitions is also so very obvious , as for him , like Starmer, it is always English First.
So now they, England’s women have won on Penalties then where the H is Starmer’s latest tweet on ‘X’…………
Breaking: here it is at 7.47pm today:
“Champions! Congratulations @Lionesses— what a team. What a game. What drama. You dug deep when it mattered most and you’ve made the nation proud. History makers”
(Will there just be one tweet from him on ‘X’ re this…doubtful I think).
Wills and Charles, part of the English Royal family, both wished their team (national side , as in England) luck for this game today , but as yet neither of them have tweeted their congratulations, as the Lackey’s who work for them , have as yet, not decided what to write on this….so really how many Dames can you make from the same football team ?…..asking on behalf of the English PM.
1966 all over again…….mind you it’s just another confirmation of who really matters as a nation within their UK……..we on here do not need to be convinced on that , but it seems that some of our fellow citizens do need to know what’s what on that !

So finally the Prince of, checks notes, ‘Wales’, has ensured that his lackeys have tweeted a congratulatory tweet…..at 11.47pm last night………someone works late (always on duty)….
“An incredible night for @Lionesses and @England in Basel. Congratulations to Sarina, the team and all the support staff. Champions”!
Yes indeed , do not forget to make the crucial point that this is specifically @England’s moment and so only their achievement , so not in the least capacity of them also being a British side, or them not winning as a nation who are a part of the UK (the supposed ‘United’ Kingdom) and so this is exclusive to them only having sole pride in England and not in any way to be seen to be proud to be British as well……..
It’s hands off this , as this is for us, England only and also for our English King , English Princes and Princesses and all the rest of the Royals as well (even Andy)…..
However it is also for our English PM who only ever wears the ‘British’ Hat when it suits his purpose (which is to con those other nations within the UK to think British First and so then for them to try to suppress their Scottishness, Welshness and Irishness….but we all know who is never ever expected to suppress their nationality as a nation within the UK…..indeed their PM and Royals encourage them to promote it with pride).
King Charles lackey was more prompt as his congratulatory tweet came at 8.23pm last night….together with a picture of his country’s national flag….with a message from him on the flag…..with phrases like “football’s coming home” and for winning this then the Lionesses ” have my whole family’s warmest appreciation and admiration” and apparently he thinks that “the next task is to bring home the world cup in 2027 if you possibly can“………….
So here you have it in black and white….that’s your supposed ‘British’ King who is only wanting England , his country, and no other UK nation to “bring home the world cup in 2027” (well at least he , Charles, has confirmed who he truly only supports, has he not, as in who he and his family all support in all sporting events on the international stage…..and it is seemingly only England and no other nation’s team within the UK) .
His tweet “Congratulations to our valiant @Lionesses A message from The King following the team’s victory at the Women’s Euros 2025” (“our” meaning both his country England and also his own family’s “valiant” National side).
Is the penny dropping on this for some of my fellow citizens in Scotland….see it’s not our PM, our UK government or indeed our Royal family….no it’s England’s , and we are only included as part of their ongoing con within their fake country that is Britain and also as part of the fake State that is the UK just to keep , not us as people, but keep our land and resources to help sustain their nation, England.
(Rupert Lowe the ex Reform UK MP tweeted a huge picture of the English flag with a message “Proud to be English”……yes we all know that Rupert , which is why many of us in Scotland were not conned by you or your former party, as we all knew that first and foremost you were and they too , Reform UK, still are an English Nationalist party , always….as you and your former party also only want our land and resources to exploit for your own true country, England).
This is just one aspect of English nationalism …….there is also the, checks bloody notes, so called UK media to now contend with…..how long can this story be stretched out for……as long as 1966 has ?…..oh definitely for sure.

Meanwhile the BBC (British Broadcasting to the Colonies) has dropped the word “Scotland” as Trumps place of visit. They are now using South Ayrshire (A-Sha !) instead.
