Only yesterday, did Jane Meagher, City of Edinburgh Council Leader, manage to post a response to the news from the ONS, on 17 April 2025, showing that her city had overtaken London as the most productive city in the UK.

  1. SSSHHHH. For heavens sake don’t say anything.

    One of the things that knocked me off the fence and turned me to independence was the Glasgow Marathon. Remember it? Great event.

    After the last Glasgow Marathon the gentleman who’d organised it was interviewed. The Marathon had been a great success, so great in fact that he said “Next Year We’ll be bigger than London.”.

    Within 24Hrs the BBC pulled out of covering the Glasgow Marathon and no other TV channel would take it on. Without TV coverage, all the sponsors pulled their support.

    So ended the Glasgow Marathon.

    1. There is a case I think whereby we should pretend that Scotland is really poor and so the only solution for England to not have to subsidise Scotland having all the freebies they take, is to let Scotland go, saving England a ton of cash.
      Tell ’em Scotland’s doing well and rich…well the union must be doing something right and why would you want to leave that wonderful lucrative colonial ‘family of nations’…rock and hard place comes to mind…
