Scottish airports have lower drop-off charges than most in England

Professor John Robertson OBA

Top story in Scotland, above, the sad ‘on list‘ claim for drop-off charges at airports.

In England:

Clearly less of a concern and yet:

Do Scotland, Glasgow or Edinburgh feature in the report? Only in the above table.

Sad, sad.

  1. ‘Sad’? – or perhaps just pathetic?

This headline ‘Busiest UK airports raise kiss-and-fly fees, says RAC‘, written by a BBC transport correspondent, appears in the main ‘Business’ section of the BBC News website and in the main UK section.

As far as I can see, this story does NOT feature in the sections of the website dedicated to England, Wales and NI.

The same article features in the Scotland section (indeed as the main blog post reports, it is THE most prominently displayed) but BBC Scotland altered the headline to ‘Scots airports on list of rising drop off fees, says RAC’.

However, despite being prominent in the UK business section and ‘meriting’ a headline change when it appears in the main Scotland section, it does NOT appear in the Scottish business section – very odd!

All in all, a clever little, opportunistic contrivance – a good days work at Pacific Quay?

    1. They shift stories and twist everything to suit their BritNat needs..of course.
Read ‘Deep Fried Hillman Imp, Scotland’s Transport’ by Chris Harvie, to learn about how transport was neglected in Scotland by the English when they had full control of Scotland. Roads and rail were only built to move around and remove Scotland’s vast resources, and for industry etc. Also for moving sheep from one hill to another for the rich land thieves, post the clearances!

  2. So HMS James Cook changed the original headline of

” Busiest UK airports raise kiss-and-fly fees, says RAC ” to read…

” Scots airports on list of rising drop-off fees, says RAC ” for Scottish viewers… Only to change it again to

” Scots airports criticised for rise in drop-off fees “…….

So ” airports ” and ” fees ” is the sum accuracy of James Cook et al reporting…

PS – It’s not visible on the Business Section for furrnrs, but is visible on the BBC Scotland page….

  3. Off topic to some degree but it was delightful to hear Richard Murphy on BBC Scotchland radio telling them what they didn’t want hear of their inherent bias in all things SNP and independence.

MSPs should do similar when asked on shows.
