Scotland’s media continue to utterly ignore the murder rate in Scotland falling to the lowest level ever in recorded history and 20% lower than in England and Wales.
How does this compare with other European countries?
Denmark’s population is 5.97 million, 9.7% greater than Scotland’s 5.44 million.
In 2024/2025, there were 44 murders in Scotland and 48 in Denmark1, 9.07% more than in Scotland.
The murder rate in Denmark, 0.0804 cases per 100K, is lower than in Scotland, 0.0808 cases per 100K, but not statistically significantly different.

Nope! Fiona Bruce, Anglo-Brit Nat would have it somewhat different. “Scotland? Murder capital of Europe! No, the Wurld!”
BBC fact-checker? Kept up her jukes.

BBC at it again….as some habits just cannot be broken by them for very obvious reasons…..
BBC Website – had a article that was on the Scottish main page but has now been bumped onto a Scottish regional page Glasgow & West.
Headline – “Former Lord Provost bombarded ex-partner with messages”
What party ?
Indeed.
Not the SNP that’s for sure as then the party name would have been quoted in their headline.
Scroll down the article and see which party he represented.
At the bottom of the article, fourth sentence from the bottom , all is revealed where it states:
“(Philip) Braat has represented the Anderston/City/Yorkhill ward since 2007 and is subject to an investigation by Scottish Labour“.
It would have been too suspicious for the BBC to not declare which party this person represented in their article , but they tried to do a good job of hiding it at the bottom of the article , which is a courtesy they never also reserve for any former or current SNP politician at any level, as in anyone from the SNP who is embroiled in what is promoted by the media as being a scandal (political or personal).
Some people would see this as being way way too petty to mention on here, but really, just think about it.
Why make an exception for the SNP in the BBC always only noting their party name in a headline on their website via any specific scandal that they, as a media, promote as being linked to a former or current SNP politician.
It’s as if they, the BBC, are trying to enforce the (non) fact that somehow all of these scandals (political and personal) are isolated only to individuals connected to the SNP as a political party.
Surely this , as a constant behaviour by the BBC , should be adopted for other parties as well on their BBC news website. As opposed to one rule for some (SNP) and another rule for others (pro UK parties) via some biased editorial decision by the BBC.
No doubt this above story on Philip Braat will soon disappear off their website pages (originally put on 2 days ago on the 27 June) as opposed to it sitting on any of the Scottish pages for what seems like an indefinite period , as that too is only something that the BBC reserve only for all and any of their #SNPBAD articles.
That’s a form of propaganda and so not really that petty is it.

Just to prove my above comment regrading the BBC website.
BBC Website main Scottish page article on 30 June:
“Councillor suspended by SNP after cannabis farm charge”
Party named in the headline…….well the SNP named in the headline.
Every single time.
Also it is the top story on the Scottish ‘South’ page but how long for ?
The Labour story in my above previous comment was not the top story on the regional Glasgow & West page and also it was not on the main Scottish page at all.
In fact I checked today and that story on the former Labour Lord provost is no longer on that regional page…..it’s gone and they hope forgotten….but if you failed to read all the way down to the bottom of that story you would, via the headline, be unaware it was a former Labour Councillor.
That Labour story was put onto their website on the 27 June , I saw it two days later , way way down the Glasgow & west page as an article on the BBC website and now it is gone.
How long will the SNP story on the ‘South’ regional page be up and why is it on both the main Scottish page and also the regional ‘South’ of Scotland page , why indeed.
BBC still at it and they will never stop or change.
They are working very very hard to try to get the SNP out and Labour in at Holyrood.
