Glenn Campbell only wants the SNP to be seen as #Bad

In the above, Glenn Campbell:

“The SNP leader John Swinney has certainly acknowledged a third, red rosette wearing Horse in this race”.

My sense is that his comment came as something of a relief to Scottish Labour, who came second last time and expect to be regarded as the principal challenger to the SNP, who are defending the seat”.

Labour could certainly do with a win here“.

Glenn for Labour.

Why he, Campbell, then also had to add this into this article on the website:

“The arithmetic already takes into account a series of SNP controversies over independence strategy, gender self-identification, a police investigation into party finances, leadership changes and the collapse of a power-sharing deal with the Greens”.

The “controversies” that have been linked to the SNP are insignificant compared to those we have seen linked with and also by both the Tory party and the Labour party.

The lack of a wide spread “Police investigation” that identifies and then takes action upon more senior Tory government ministers who were directly involved in the ‘Controversial’ PPE Fast Lane VIP Tory government contracts scandal that happened during Covid , is also a disgraceful omission, as a situation. (also various Tory MP’s n previous Tory governments being involved in sexual misconduct scandals and so either resigning or losing the Tory whip).

Then the “Police investigations” into one Labour MP , as in the one who punched a constituent, who was then charged and convicted and so then he resigned as an MP.

Also there is an ongoing investigation into a Labour MP who was also formerly the ‘Economic Secretary to the Treasure’ for Keir Starmer’s UK government, one Tulip Siddiq. An arrest warrant has now been issued by Bangladesh for her as part of investigations into corruption during Sheikh Hasina’s Premiership. (see her Wikipedia entry on other ‘incidents’ relating to her that are ‘controversial’. (she is still noted in the UK parliament website as being a Labour MP so she has not had the whip removed by her party ??????).

Glenn Campbell only wants the SNP to be seen as #Bad however reality proves that is not the case.

Check out the UK Parliament – “Allegations currently under investigation by the Commissioner” that name former Labour MP’s Andrew Gwynne (now an independent MP), Hamish Falconer and also Rachel Reeves and also there is a Lib Dem MP Charlie Maynard under investigation too.

The BBC ….at it again.

    1. It’s all by design, the young folk for factory fodder and cannon fodder aplenty now that unemployment must be rising a ton, looking at the many shops closing down in our affluent part of Edinburgh.

  2. The ”baaaad” SNP were not responsible for allowing Fred ‘The Shred’ of RBS infamy to take over NatWest Bank ( which was many times the size of RBS ) and helped in its eventual demise during the Financial Crisis of 2007-8 .

That was a little known Labour man called Gordon Brown ! Whatever happened to him ? Hope no one is still accepting advice , of any kind , from this man with the reverse Midas touch !

  3. Apologies for yet another (too long) comment by me. (I will eventually burn out honestly, it’s a coming Ha Ha).

In the theme of #SNPBAD broadcasters and those who tend to often be seen and heard to side more with UK governments over our Scottish devolved government, we also have SKY News as well as the BBC News teams.

I saw online an interesting and also quite pertinent point that dismisses the current ‘Reform UK’ position that is being taken by Keir Starmer on those unfortunate people, whom Starmer has declared as being “illegal immigrants” and so who his Labour government say they will greatly reduce and stop the numbers of them arriving at English coasts. (they use the excuse of wanting to “smash the gangs who bring them here in small boats ” (“here” being the English coastline).

They also say it is to “protect and take control of ‘our’ borders” aka Brexit speak.

The point I saw online in respect to immigrants who arrive at English coastlines was made by a real Journalist, Andrew Fisher, who works for the ‘I’ newspaper, when a SKY News presenter also referred to these Immigrants as “arriving here illegally” and the SKY News presenter also said “everyone agreed that something has to be done” then Mr Fisher responded to him by saying this:

“Well let’s be clear people aren’t arriving illegally , they are arriving to claim asylum which is legal under international law. If they don’t present themselves for asylum or if they are then rejected and try to stay, then they would be illegally here. But the vast majority of people who come via small boats are legitimate , are found to be by the Home Office legitimate asylum seekers , so we need to be a bit careful with our language . But yes there is a global migration crisis at the moment. If you look at countries in the middle east they are taking millions of people, Lebanon, Turkey and so on , we take a very small trickle that make it across Europe, and I think we only take 8% of the Refugees that come to Europe. So we are not actually taking a very large share of Refugees even proportionate to our wealth, certainly. But of course the way to stop this , I mean I think the problems with the crossings in the English Channel is that people are dying , I think 178 people died crossing the English Channel last year. It’s unsafe we need to be providing safe routes for people to get here. Not a single Ukrainian has come via a small boat or drowned in the Channel. There is a reason for that , we opened a scheme that said ‘look there is a legitimate crisis in your country , you can come here safely and legitimately , you don’t have to get into small boats’ , we need to provide that for others as well because there are comparable crisis in other parts of the world and we can’t be shutting the door and allowing people to drown in the Channel just trying to seek safety”.

The UK media has adopted the same language and the same arguments being made by Reform UK, the Tory party and also now by Labour UK as the new UK government on this matter.

Sir Keir Starmer was a Barrister primarily working on human rights matters and yet he has adopted the same language and arguments as Nigel Farage and also as the Tory party too, when he refers to these Refugees aka asylum seekers as being “illegal immigrants”, does he not know the International law that when people arrive here by any means they” aren’t arriving illegally , they are arriving to claim asylum which is legal under international law“. (and where they only become illegal if they either do not present themselves for asylum or are rejected for asylum and they try to stay in the UK).

This is why we need a more reliable and honest MSM , especially in Scotland, as there are those who , as Journalists within the UK , feel able to, as in are allowed to, freely articulate an honest appraisal of situations happening both within the UK and abroad, like say Andrew Fisher who works for the ‘I’ newspaper. They do not have to be measured in what they say and also guarded in what they say for fear of saying something , or writing something, that then disadvantages a particular political party or government. They just speak as they find but base their words on facts and reality.

That is what I want to see in the future with a media in an independent Scotland , who actually communicate factually all of the news and not relay propaganda that benefits the party that they support politically while disadvantaging others that they oppose politically. (which is what we have now In Scotland where most, as in the majority, of all media oppose the SNP and support one of the pro UK political parties).

Currently in Scotland it is mostly blogs such as TUS, Bella Caledonia, WGD and also Munguins Republic as well as various Indy supporting social media accounts who say it like it is, but apart from The National newspaper there is no other MSM that gives news from a Scottish perspective and that seeks to often defend both Scotland and our Scottish government within the UK (that is when they, the Scottish government, do often do things right and do them well).

That is shocking and needs changing, hence why best to vote for the SNP in all future elections or this dire and frankly intolerable situation will always stay the same.

  4. Yes indeed, the 3rd day in a row Scotland’s media has tried to breathe life into the corpse of the 14 months old ending of the Bute House Agreement, Philip Sim, Brian McKenna and now the Shitehawk with BBC Scotland’s greatest shits…

It’s almost embarrassing to read https://archive.ph/S6fgz but worth it to appreciate the contrivance, much as the Sim article 2 days previously – Since Holyrood by design is built on the principle of party partnering to get anything done, it was the BHA in 2021 where the SNP chose to partner with the Greens to get stuff over the line – Who would Glenn et al have preferred to Harvie and Slater ? – “Read my lips/what about Millie May” Sarwar, or perhaps the class bully DRoss, or the sheepishly challenged Willie Rennie ?

If I may recycle Kevin McKenna’s arrant nonsense quoted in an earlier article – ‘In Scotland, though, the BBC has become the focus for something else entirely. The public has sensed something new running beneath Scotland’s media politics, a distinctly earthy smell reminiscent of manure. That growing numbers of voters think that the extremists are not to be found lurking in disadvantaged communities or in conspiracy chat-rooms, but at Pacific Quay in a superannuated and bonus driven executive sector populated almost entirely by people who care nothing for working class people and who actively seek to dehumanise and invalidate them. That these voters had enough of being branded ‘separatists’ by groups and individuals who would like to believe they have damaged the cause of independence, by using it to pursue their own boutique agendas’
