A morning of just prison addiction deaths, domestic abuse and job losses, chosen specially by the BBC Scotland editor, and the good news they won’t be telling you

Professor John Robertson OBA

Only a few minutes long but packed with disturbing news for BBC Scotland’s Breakfast insert, this morning, the had drug deaths in prison and supposedly a lack of support for that, issues around domestic abuse and job losses at Dundee University.

I’ve done research to prove that this is a constant agenda to emphasis the negative and anything that might be attributed to the Scottish Government. See these comparisons with STV and BBC Wales for detail:

Today, on prison addiction treatment, they won’t tell you this

On, domestic abuse, they certainly won’t tell you these stories:

Finally, they won’t be telling who is really responsible for the job losses at Dundee University – Wendy Alexander:

  1. Strangely , BBC Scotland not leading with the ‘news’ of BBC bias when reporting on Gaza , BBC knowingly harbouring bullying staff ( again ) , BBC affording extreme right-wing views airtime ( Douglas Murray ) ….

  2. It’s a wonder anyone wants to live in Scotland at all, it’s such a basket case say the BBC, yet so many are moving here from utopian England, hm weird.
Broadcasting Scotland reported on Dundee Uni recently, sounds like a case of (mis)management trying take down the uni? What’s with that?

  3. I received my “reminder” to buy a TV licence in the post this morning.

I wish they’d be more considerate and use softer paper.

Oh well , I’ll just have to use Andrex again…

The UK, under Labour UK government, bombed Yemen overnight on 29/30 April 2025.

Starmer once made a pledge to “promote peace and human rights”

When will he start to do that ?

    Saw this tweet today:

“In 2020 Starmer said blindly following the Americans was the wrong thing to do & he promised to pass legislation that said military action could be taken if you got the consent of the Commons”.

There was a video with this tweet of Andrew Marr interviewing the then opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer as a guest on his, Marr’s, then BBC Sunday morning programme in 2020 and Starmer told Marr this:

“Unquestionably blindly following the Americans is in my view the wrong thing to do”

Marr said: “Trying to sort of guage what kind of leader you would be. Can I ask you would you ver support military action if you were the Labour leader in the HOC” ?

Starmer replied : I would pass legislation that said Military action could be taken if first, the lawful case for it was made, secondly there was a viable objective and thirdly you got consent of the House”.

Four years later , in January 2024 , the BBC website had this article when Starmer was still the official opposition leader:

“Starmer denies backtracking on military action vote”

“Sir Keir Starmer has denied changing his position on whether the government has to give MPs a vote on any plans by the UK to take military action”.

“The Labour leader backed the US-UK air strikes in Yemen launched without a parliamentary vote”

“During his leadership campaign Sir Keir had pledged to create a law requiring “the consent of the Commons” for military action”.

The following statement was made today 30 April 2025 by the Labour UK government.

Note that when they refer to “ this action was in line with long-standing policy of the UK government” they mean the previous Tory UK government policy, so yet another Tory policy sustained by Labour. FFS

    The statement stated:

“On 29 April 2025, UK forces participated in a joint operation with US forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen.  This action was in line with long-standing policy of the UK government

There really has been nothing that this unfit Labour leader . Sir Keir Starmer, had said in his quest to be the new Labour leader back in 2020 that has now been sustained.

    #Fraud

Yet in 2024 some voters in Scotland elected 37 Labour MP’s in the GE who were MP’s under his leadership.

    So…

Either they knew , as voters, that he, Starmer, had lied and so backtracked on his pledges to become the new Labour leader and they , as voters, just did not care enough to revolt and so resist in voting for Labour especially with him as the Labour leader and potential new PM post the GE.

    Or…

They , as voters, were oblivious to this as the media in Scotland only ever makes a fuss over things concocted by either opposition parties or concocted by themselves , as a media , against the SNP, with the sole purpose being to harm the SNP and so as a result , they then hope that it will benefit other opposition parties in Scotland in future elections.

Both the former and the latter is bad , however what is even worse is him , Starmer, having the audacity and gall to think he can ever criticise the SNP or our FM when he is the worse of the worse, even worse than Boris Johnson and that is indeed the worse.

Starmer a professional politician and professional liar, telling different sections of the public what he thinks they want to hear but the reality is , he as PM, will do what he wants and never ever what he thinks the public really wants or needs.

(He, and his Ministers, will also find a way to keep their donors happy too).

These are my (supposed) principles says Starmer , if you do not like them I do have others etc etc etc

Vote SNP in 2026 as they will not try to drag Scotland into wars as Labour , the Tories and others will do , just to try and gain some public support from what is a situation that shows them, as a party, flagging in the polls and also them desperate for a UK/US Trade deal as they are also flagging economically with Brexit.
