So, what do you think the data for Scotland might reveal? The stereotypes are still with us, but:

In every English university town you are significantly more likely to be a victim of violent crime than in any Scottish one.
I haven’t see this reported anywhere.

Interesting findings. Would be worth looking at what the explanation might be. My guess would be lower social tensions from inequality.

slightly o/t but on a recent visit to London I was flabbergasted at the number of warnings about child abduction / apparently it’s in the news almost daily – we don’t hear about it up here but another example of a dysfunctional society
