Gary Cook of the GMB at Ferguson Marine, and others like him, needs to get their stories straight and adopt a consistent narrative.
So with a workers Union and a media supporting a Political party (Labour) targeting , as in making political attacks, upon this company, as in their shipyard, that then prompts a lack of confidence in the company’s shipyard, but then their , Labour’s, real target (the SNP) must somehow be in the thick of this story , as they were the ones who nationalised it so this must end up, like all things Scottish, being a #SNPBAD tale.
There can then be no winners, as Labour , the Union who supports them and their media have all damaged the reputation of this company’s shipyard, the consequences are that all of these ‘Pot shots’ as a constant in the headlines ‘where we are and elsewhere in the UK too’ , with negative quotes sourced from both Labour and also Union reps, have now destabilised what should have been something that so called ‘Scottish’ Labour, so called “Scottish’ Union Reps and so called ‘Scottish’ media were all promoting and supporting to sustain this industry in Scotland.
Their combined hatred of the SNP has seen them take their eye of the ball or rather it seems their eyes are always only focused on all things UK related and upon those things that benefits the UK only,
So the consequential that is linked to their combined constant #BAD news upon Scotland is then filed under collateral damage , as in needs must , especially when their combined goal is to try to destroy the SNP and also keep Scotland within their UK.
Words have consequences and they are all too blind with their rage against the SNP and also their hatred of the SNP and too their staunch opposition to Scottish independence to then either care or notice the resulting damage that they have inflicted upon our Scottish industries and Scottish economy.
Most (not all) of the UK Workers Unions, the majority of the UK media and all of the UK establishment (Political, Royalty, Religious leaders etc) are all onside with pro UK political parties .
So why then would they try to protect our Scottish industries when they need to protect their UK from splitting up……
Currently Labour are assumed as the best political option in Scotland to ‘Save their UK’ and so all of the UK establishment will reiterate and support what they say no matter who is then a victim of their slander and defamation.
(Of course Labour are now no longer their, teh UK establishment’s, actual best bet in Scotland politically, as most people here now hate them more than they hate the Tories , as they, Labour, have now categorically proven to be far far far far far far far worse as a UK government than even the Tories were(which BTW most of us knew already how bad Labour were politically) , so their Labour branch office are very much now on a political shoogly peg in 2026 , as are their recently elected in Scotland, 37 labour MP’s too).
Vote SNP in 2026 to show them that Scotland’s democracy can no longer, from 2026, be bought in any elections, where major political donors to pro UK parties think that , as donors, that they get to decide who wins in all elections. Let’s show those political donors, that in Scotland, our votes cannot be bought or sold and so their money does not talk here in Scotland (via their very large political donations to pro UK parties like Labour)

How many EX-union leaders are now Labour MPs at Westminster voting to retain the Two-Child Benefit Cap , denying pensioners their WFP , shafting the WASPI women , f*cking the Disabled , enriching Defence contractors …. all in the name of CHANGE ?
Don’t be surprised when GMB or UNISON or UNITE leaders turn out to be less than supportive of those who pay their salaries . They have higher priorities than the interests of the members !

We also have ex Trade Union leaders, nominated by Labour leaders, who now sit in the HOL as Labour peers, now that’s a contradiction is not.
Someone who was formerly in an organisation that was supposed to fight for, defend and ensure the best deal for the ‘working man and woman’ against their Employers , who themselves as former leaders of various Trade Unions are then elevated to the HOL’s as a peer.
The HOL’s is full of those Peers who are over privileged, unelected and also where those who sit within the HOL’s are those who are over paid as the elites that they truly are , and for ex Trade Union leaders who now are Labour Peers that is then the antithesis of everything their former employer, the Trade Unions, represented as organisations.
It is also what makes their UK such a bloody joke.
Vote SNP in 2026 as surely now the reasons to do so are both very evident and also are mounting….

How many ex-union leaders have gone to the Lords over the years? Such a useful place for the Labour party when they want to reward someone for services rendered to Labour party.

Indeed Kelticgirl he was.
His wife, Karen Leonard, is one who is often ‘invited’ by the BBC in Scotland to put her occasional tuppence worth of cheap politicking against the SNP.
Do the public know or make the connection that she is the wife of the former Labour leader in Scotland and he is now still a Labour MSP, because the BBC do not clarify that pertinent point when she is invited onto their various news programmes , but she is instead presented as the GMB leader in Scotland.
We all know how much the GMB in Scotland hate the SNP and they have many a time, together with the new Labour leader, Anas Sarwar, performed various anti SNP political stunts in Scotland to try and undermine the SNP, especially the SNP council in Glasgow as well as the SNP Scottish government.
Of course we all know the disaster of the former Labour Glasgow council where they, Labour and the GMB, fought against equal pay for the women in the council which if nothing else tells you all you need to know about both the LABOUR PARTY and the GMB in Scotland (not forgetting Gary Smith of the GMB who was very vocal and active on the side of Better together in their NO campaign in 2014).

It occurred to me when the Herald ran yet another story about the ferries, as they have done over the past few days, that what they are basically complaining about is that the ferries are being maintained/repaired. Furthermore the maintenance/repairs are being carried out in a Scottish yard.
Imagine if they were not maintained/repaired as they regularly have to be given they sail in some of the most dangerous waters. What would be the result of that? Sinking ferries and loss of life which would be a real cause for complaint rather than the manufactured ones we get now from the media and politicians.
Imagine too if there was not a Scottish yard able to maintain/repair the ferries and they had to go to a foreign yard. Maintenance/repairs would take so much longer and be more expensive than they are now yet the media make a song and dance about a few days/weeks overdue return to service.
Bottom line: the ferries are well maintained/repaired in a Scottish yard. Sometimes the repair takes a wee bit longer because when they start the servicing/repair they find something else that needs fixed. That’s the story. Not the confection manufactured by the media.

Anas Sarwar is in America for the Tartan parade.
To celebrate Scotland ?
Not so much.
He is playing politics in his delusional role as Scottish FM in all but actuality.
He tweeted this yesterday (with a picture of him and members from British American Business):
“Great to talk about how we unlock Scotland’s potential in energy, digital, tourism and produce @BritAMBusiness. The Scottish Labour government I lead will work to drive investment, jobs and growth into Scotland”
Sarwar currently leads the third party at Holyrood.
So where does he, Sarwar, get off meeting with others in America to discuss his (fantasy) plans to what he states is to “drive investment, jobs and growth into Scotland” but where in reality, if Sarwar was ever to be the next Scottish FM, then he and his Labour HQ as the UK government would stunt future investment, decrease jobs and reduce growth in Scotland. (as they are attempting now).
In another video tweet in America Sarwar states:
“Scotland and the UK’s relationship with the USA really matters. At times of political volatility , yes we’ve got to strengthen personal ties , Business ties and cultural ties but actually diplomatic ties are really important too. And that’s why I’ve spent the day in DC meeting with our Ambassador ( Peter Mandelson) , meeting key figures in the capital. And I’ll be hosting “Scots in DC” tonight so we an strengthen those ties and do what’s best for Scotland.
Political volatility ?
Has he heard of Trump ?
Trump does not do ‘Relationships’ with other countries (apart from rogue countries like Israel, Hungary , Russia and North Korea) and he has proven that in not exempting the UK from Tariffs being imposed by him then obviously he does not see the UK and the USA as having a ‘Special relationship’ or him wanting his US to “Strengthen ties” with either Sarwar’s UK or our Scotland. (apart from his , Trump’s, Scottish Golf course).
Sarwar is hosting a ‘Scots in DC’ as the delusional FM wannabee whose only clout is that his HQ party (over) rule in the UK so what they say goes , especially in Scotland.
Sarwar just obeys Labour HQ who need an American Trade deal , as Tory Brexit , that they endorse, support and want to continue with as the new UK government, has ducked over their UK, including Scotland, who as a country did not vote for Brexit in any region within Scotland.
So…………
Firstly Sarwar could not even do what’s best for Scotland within his UK in him and his Labour UK government betraying and lying to the workers of Grangemouth Refinery.
Where a FOI request made by a newspaper confirmed that since the 2024 GE Anas Sarwar had “failed to engage with” the UK government about Grangemouth (or the WASPI women).
Secondly Sarwar had previously tweeted that he was in America for the Tartan parade, but clearly Sarwar can never stop campaigning for Labour , the UK or himself.
So it was more really him trying to gain an advantage politically than celebrating Scotland in the American tartan parade that prompted his visit to America !!!!!!
Thirdly it was reported that Sarwar had a ‘secret meeting’ with Trump’s son Eric when he, Eric Trump, visited Scotland recently, perhaps he, Sarwar, asked Eric Trump if he could tell others in America that Sarwar was actually the Scottish FM , prior to Sarwar going to America.
Finally how come Anas Sarwar who leads the THIRD party at Holyrood and so is not the Scottish FM or indeed a member of the Scottish government, thinks that he can go over to America and talk about Scotland’s future and potential with Americans , and he is allowed to do this, yet Scottish government ministers were previously not allowed to go to Europe or elsewhere in the world to discuss Scotland’s future and potential abroad without a Tory chaperone censoring them.
Vote SNP in 2026 to burst Anas Sarwar’s political bubble in his aspirations to be the next Scottish FM in order that he (as in he hopes he) may continue the work currently being done by Labour HQ as the new UK government, in making their UK a right wing country that looks after the rich at the expense of those who are the most vulnerable and the poorest within a not so great Britain. (who also via their politics and media have delusions of a past supposed grandeur of their now lost British Empire).

Missing from my above comment is the fact that Sarwar is in America on manoeuvres on behalf of his UK and so also to promote mostly his UK, as one his tweets regarding his visit to America gave the (real) game away when he stated “Scotland and the UK’s relationship with the USA really matters”.
Keir Starmers response to Trump imposed Tariffs upon the UK was for the UK “to stay calm” which translated means he is ‘too feart to do anything in case it jeopardises any UK/US future Trade deal that the UK is now so desperate to get and in need of due to the UK now being Brexit UK’.
Meanwhile the far more powerful (EU) and so those who are far less vulnerable than the UK and also less isolated than the UK, they, the EU, plan to retaliate with counter measures on these Trump imposed Tariffs upon them, which demonstrates that in today’s “politically volatile” world it is far better to be actually stronger as a real (European) Union than a pretend stronger non actual supposed Union in this Brexited non United Kingdom.
