Labour councillor to stand trial on grooming charges is not big news if your task is to protect Labour

BBC Fife, above have no time for this, below:

The local press, The Courier, does but is keeping things low-key. You have to read on for this:

A former Labour councillor in Fife has pled not guilty to allegations he groomed a teenage girl over a period of a year. David Graham, of Grieve Street in Methilhill, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and denied the trio of charges he faces. The 42-year-old is alleged to have communicated indecently with the teenager and coerced her to view sexual images, to have engaged in unlawful sexual activity with her and to have intentionally met her to have unlawful sexual activity.

There’s no mug shot of Graham though there are of the accused in other cases being reported.

Is this kind of thing rare? In the Labour Party?

There are six cases of Labour politicians accused of child abuse in this: https://votewatch.co.uk/over-two-hundred-labour-politicians-arrested-suspended-or-embroiled-in-serious-scandal-since-general-election/

  1. No room on any of the BBC’s Scottish pages for this story.

This is a very very very bad time for the Labour party at a national level so the BBC have to try to tone down, or better still , omit any bad news connected to them at a local level.

If anyone thinks that they , the BBC, would not publish, promote and include a similar story that involved a former SNP Councillor then they, as a person, have obviously not been paying attention to how things work, media wise, in Scotland.

This is a significant story involving a former Labour Councillor and it is the kind of story the BBC have covered before for former Councillors of different parties, so you do have to wonder why is this , as a significant story, now being ignored by the BBC ?

There is a often a wheesht for #BAD Labour in some of the media in Scotland, some stories must however be told as they are unavoidable and so if ignored they become too conspicuous by their absence but the media can then present an alternate angle , a spin and so can promote an excuse on Labour’s behalf…..or like today many of them in Scotland have chosen to just avoid Reeves mini budget yesterday as a main Front page headline. (not even on some of their front pages at all as a political story that will impact Scotland).

Today the same BBC Scotland page showed what was going to be on the front pages of newspapers published for reading within Scotland for March 27th …..

The ‘Scottish’ Sun, The Daily Record , The Glasgow Times , The Evening Telegraph, The Edinburgh Evening News and the Evening Express all ignored yesterday’s Reeves mini Budget as they decided to include other news on their front pages with nothing about Reeves…..

However just wait until these “Cuts” impact the Scottish government and then they, as a Scottish government , are perhaps forced to make some cuts as the Scottish budget will plunge due to what Reeves did yesterday….. then that is when we will definitely read all about it in many of these above newspapers , and it is where we will see it , as news, splashed all over their front pages. (and they will also include an Editorial #SNPBAD inside the newspaper as well).

That’s how partisan much of the media is that Scotland is subjected to…..

Vote SNP in 2026 as a first step to showing that same media they cannot continue to con us with their fake news on behalf of those political parties they support.

Spotted this too – remarkable given the coverage in the UK/English media.

The prize for the most egregious bias by omission must surely be awarded to the Daily Record, aka the house journal of the British Labour Party in Scotland!

    2. While we’re on the subject of egregious omissions in the wake of Labour’s ‘Spring Statement’ …

From Birmingham Live on March 12, 2025 this headline: ‘Former PM Gordon Brown in Birmingham backs child poverty urgent action call’.

We’re told the sage of British Labour in Scotland and saviour of solidarity in the precious Union attended an event at which: ‘He took the opportunity to press fellow guest, Government employment minister Alison McGovern, to do more to fix child poverty. She is one of three ministers leading the Child Poverty Taskforce set up by Sir Keir Starmer and due to report its findings this Spring.

‘He told her the review ‘must address’ welfare issues created by the previous Government – including the use of sanctions, housing benefit limits, the five-week wait imposed on new claimants, and the two child benefit cap that’s especially blighting lives in areas with more large families like Birmingham.’

And more: ‘Mr Brown said: “We’ve now got to have a comprehensive programme to deal with the results of what have been 15 years or so of austerity. The 104,000 or so children in Birmingham in poverty, and the 4.3 million children in the country, they are ‘austerity children’ because they’re the product of that freezing of benefits, the cutting of child benefit, the introduction of the two child rule and everything else. So that is what the Child Poverty Review must address.’

Then we have this today – see https://www.jrf.org.uk/news/cuts-to-push-250000-into-poverty-as-living-standards-for-the-poorest-under-continuing-assault

‘Responding to the Chancellor’s Spring Statement and the publication of the government’s impact assessment for their planned cuts to disability benefits, Paul Kissack, Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation said:

“The Chancellor said today that she would not do anything to put household finances in danger, yet the government’s own assessment shows that their cuts to health related benefits risk pushing 250,000 people into poverty, including 50,000 children. This will harm people, deepening the hardship they already face.’

Anyone heard from Mr Brown yet?

      1. “Anyone heard from Mr Brown yet”?

Brown was also on the front page of the Daily Record prior to the GE in 2024, actually it was on their edition printed just before the GE, as in the edition of their paper on June 29th 2024…..

Front page of the Daily Record declared three things on that day :

        “Gordon Brown exclusive interview”

        “Vote for Ending Child Poverty”

“Former PM backs Labour leader’s Starmer’s ‘moral mission’.

Brown is like the Ghost of Politics past appearing , or rather being (they think) tactically platformed via the media, when it is (wrongly) assumed that his opinion and his (wrongly) assumed gravitas is sufficient to persuade (con) voters in Scotland that Labour are good and the SNP are bad.

I mean have we not, as voters in Scotland, lost count of how many times Brown has said this, that and the next thing will most certainly happen in Scotland and for Scotland but only if we, in Scotland, do this, that and the next thing as per his direction.

Then the opposite happens and what does Brown then say to Scotland ?

Well he says nowt as he disappears back from whence he came….some crypt for past their sell by date politicians , who all (wrongly) assume that they are still relevant and well regarded , when they are not, especially if they just keep lying to the Voters. (on behalf of their old party).

The media gives Brown (undeserved) recognition and (undeserved) respect that is an insult to Scotland, as he too, like others in Labour, has betrayed Scotland time and time again.

Gordon Brown’s betrayal of Scotland is just as bad as Anas Sarwar’s betrayal of Scotland and it appears to also be the case for all of the 37 Labour MP’s that were elected in Scotland in last years GE , as they too have betrayed Scotland . (putting party before Constituents).

(Do not be fooled by Alloa & Grangemouth Labour MP Brian Leishman, as if he is as angry as he says he is and also if he feels as let down by his party, Labour, as he says he does, then why is he still a Labour MP ) ?

Brown said he was backing Keir Starmer’s ‘moral mission’ which as yet has not been instigated or revealed and we are now being told that many of Starmer’s former “missions” that he pledged prior to the 2024 GE are now being filed under ‘Mission(s) impossible’.

There is no room or place for “Morals” in Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour party, that is now very much blatantly obvious.

Brown is the epitome of what Labour represent……all talk and no action just to get undeserved votes in the bag…..then once the votes are gained it then becomes another ‘Job Done’ , so no need to fulfil all that they (falsely) promised.

Time Gordon Brown was put out to pasture as he has is a complete and utter embarrassment , a total con man, and he is certainly not a political asset (take away the ‘et’ from that word then yes he is).

The media know this , but they just keep playing along to try and help any UK political party gain an (undeserved) political advantage over the SNP, in the hope that ultimately all ‘interventions’, even the Gordon Brown ones, will, they hope, have a negative consequence for the SNP in elections.

Who the H really believes Gordon Brown anyway ?

(Since when does any former politicians and former PM’s have the power and influence to promise us , the Scottish public, anything ? Do they , and their client media , really think us all to be such Cretins? ).

Vote SNP in 2026 as a first step to never having Gordon Brown interfere in our politics ever again , when we finally become independent.

    3. I cannot bring myself to vote for a party who believe that men can become women, put male criminals in womens’ prisons and who are currently in the Supreme Court arguing the definition of “woman”. Not a chance.
