Patient satisfaction surveys rate NHS Scotland improving and far more highly than NHS England to cast doubt on 4th Health Secretary media witch-hunt

PA MEDIA – Health Secretary Neil Gray has been branded “out of touch” by his “thick as mince” political opponents

By Professor John Robertson OBA:

In the Guardian today:

A quarter of people in England experienced poor NHS care over the last year but fewer than one in 10 of them complained about it, a report by the patient watchdog has revealed. 1

From the Health and Care Experience Survey 2023/24: National Results published on 28th May 2024, only 12% of the 104 000 Scots responding, rated their experience as poor or very poor, down from 15% in the previous year.2

The patients are not wrong. NHS Scotland is doing far better than other NHS areas. See:

Once more we witness a gormless witch-hunt aimed at SNP Health Secretaries. See these earlier cases:

  1. Never mind the fact that he is doing a good job with the Scottish Health Service , helping it perform better than those of the rest of the UK and, thereby , saving lives – he took a government car to a football match !

Get your priorities right – Sack the man !!!

    1. What has your comment re ‘government car’ have to do with ANY of this blog whatsoever, in this ‘health’ context or any. Akin to what we see on the daily front pages of the far right BritEngNat rags every damn day, including the dreadful headline of the so called ‘National;’ today…appalling. NO THANKS!

  2. In the face of sometimes long NHS waiting lists we all know that the Private Health Care sector is gleefully promoting itself across the UK. I am protecting patient confidentiality here but a close family member has this private health care package via his work and recently suffered severe back pain. Certainly the initially consultation was completed and the cause identified quite quickly which needed possible surgery but alas this is where it all falls apart. He was told to seek out his own surgeon to undertake the work so imagine if that was an SNHS patient Baillie would be the first to air this at FMQ’s.

So the message is Private Health care may sound appealing if you are in severe pain but be careful what you wish for as it is not always the better option even if you can afford it.

    1. Just have to look at the US for what ‘private health care means’…it’s why that CEO was killed, people are paying a fortune in ‘insurance’ then being denied treatment by those insurance comapnies…I mean it’s actually robbery when you think about it. Unregulated companies that are just thieves, there is NO ‘healthcare’ in the US, simple really.

  3. Just watching this..it’s horrific what’s hapening to the English NHS, everyone in Scotland needs to watch this because it’s what the EngUK will do to Scotlamd if they get their dirty hands on power at Holyrood in 2026…doesn’t even bear thinking about in fact.
