Wonderful [I should know] local hospital staff in Clydebank, quick to correct their ungrateful, petty, ill-informed, neighbouring Dumbarton MSP and local rag

From the Herald’s notoriously thick/mendacious health correspondent, early on the 19th December 2024, the above and this:

The number of operations being carried out at Scotland’s largest dedicated elective hub has fallen in recent months despite Scottish Government targets to drive down waiting list backlogs.

Analysis by the Herald of publicly available data shows that 6,240 surgeries were completed at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank in the three months from August to October this year, compared to 7,229 in the same period in 2023 – a decline of 14%.

Within seconds, Labour MSP for neighbouring and dependent Dumbarton, Jackie Baillie, had gleefully tweeted the same stuff she’d just fed to McCurdle, to attack the SNP, caring FA for her local people. https://x.com/jackiebmsp/status/1869683668526236103

It’s a wee relief not to have to do this myself and to remind McCurdle that a one-year variation is not a meaningful trend.

That very same day:

That’s her well-telt, I wish.

How do I know they are wonderful? Three weeks ago, I spoke to my GP about pain under my ribs after eating. By last Tuesday, I was in the Golden Jubilee for a scan. By yesterday, I had a call from my GP. Howzat!

They found nothing to worry about. Maybe it’s writing this blog?

  1. Great news Prof – how would we manage without your informative blog and hold the (mainly) wretched Scottish MSM to account?

Merry Xmas when it comes! 🙂

  2. It’s a great pity that Ms Baillie wasn’t more efficient on her watch when Labour were running the Scottish parliament and her local hospital Vale of Leven ceased to have an A&E department resulting in our having to travel to RAH in Paisley for emergencies. Luckily for me, the latter is an excellent hospital where I was admitted on a Sunday morning and had an emergency laparotomy that very evening with superb after care.

  3. If ever there was a “politician ” that was perfectly suited to opposition it’s Baillie.

She’s opposed to everything and anything.

Her partner must be awfully accommodating!

  4. Obesity the next challenge for the NHS. Some people need counselling to eat less. Could save £Billions for the NHS.

Trident dumped in Scotland by Kennedy and MacMillan. A danger to Scotland. Scotland needs Independence to get rid.
