In the Herald today, the leader of the police officer’s trade union, responding to the recent Skye murders, says there were 17 homicides by firearm in the last 10 years and that this is a consequence of ‘weak’ police leadership and ‘political cowardice.’ He also notes ‘precious few’ of those involved legally held guns. The Skye killer was licensed.
All things being equal, per head, England & Wales might be expected to have had around 190 such killings.
From the ONS, from 2013 to 2023, there were 273 homicides by firearm but only 41 involved licensed firearms.
So, the homicide by firearm rate in England is 44% higher, a bit like the overall crime rate, despite the flood of county lines violence from Dumfries to Thurso.
There is no media report in the rest of the UK suggesting ‘political cowardice.’

Just heard an anti SNP political broadcast on BBC supposed to be news regarding the budget they really hate Scotland and she is Scottish.

They hate the SNP they want rid of the SNP and they will do anything and everything to make that happen. The propaganda and lies and disinformation is going to be ramped up every damn day until they oust the SNP at the next election in 2026. These BritNats and Brit state have every tool at their disposal to do that, unless Scotland and the people of Scotland wake up, those who have not already, and make sure the real facts get out to as many as possible via this blog, and all independence blogs and Ytube channels, as well as handing out info that can be accessed via ‘Believe In Scotland’ and others creating material to counter the Brit states’ lies and propaganda being waged against Scotland.
