Reddit now bigger than x so important for Independence debate

According to the Guardian today:

Reddit, the American online discussion platform, has overtaken X to become the fifth most popular social media platform in the UK, according to the communications watchdog. Ofcom said Reddit, where users post on discussion threads within topic-based communities, was visited by 22.9 million UK adults in May this year, compared with 22.1 million on X. Readers may remember that I was banned from rScotland, in 2023, for repeatedly posting fake news, or satire as I felt it was. I’m still banned, so, in the light of the news above, I thought I’d try r/ukpolitics.

  1. X is 12th in the world.

    1Billion people on social media (US companies not paying tax). 7 Billion people are not.

    US companies breaking competition Laws under US Law. Not paying taxes. Politicians want to break them up for more competition. Lower prices. US funds research and development. Companies create a monopoly and charge what they like. Copywrit Law.

    Massive companies built up. They take smaller companies to Court. So larger companies can hold a monopoly. Then charge what they like. No competition. Make massive profits from advertising etc, hits and clicks. Pay no tax. US & EU Gov are challenging them. Congress committees. EU making them pay appropriate tax. EU and US are far harsher enforcing tax laws, than UK.

    China limits social media for young people. Some countries ban it, restrict it or fine the companies. To try to make them toe the line. Obey the Law or get banned.
