Part of my tribute to Alex Salmond’s ‘uncringing spirit’ in Scotland’s 98 year-old paper-based, to your door, non-aligned, pro-Independence newspaper

In today’s Scots Independent, first published in November 1926, non-party aligned and posted to your door for £3.75 a month, https://scotsindependent.scot/FWShop/product-category/subscriptions/

I have a media analysis column every month.

They present the Oliver Brown Award (whisky decanter (empty!), for advancing the cause of Scotland’s self respect.

The late Oliver Brown brought wit, scholarship, passion, ribaldry and the most uncringing spirit to the cause of Nationalism.https://scotsindependent.scot/?page_id=109

Sean Connery in 2012, Alex Salmond in 2014, me in 2022 (Imposter Syndrome attack) and Dr Philippa Whitford last year. More at: https://scotsindependent.scot/?page_id=116

Go on, go on, go on.

  1. Today the top story on BBC’s website Scotland page and Scottish Politics page is this article headlined as :

“Police receive new sex assault complaint against Alex Salmond”

The man is dead , but some seem to be determined to ensure that he will not be allowed to Rest in Peace or that his family will be given time to grieve in peace.

Also according to this article “It would not be possible to bring a prosecution in respect of Salmond himself as he is dead” also in the article it is stated that “It is unclear why the allegation has been made now

However also in this article is the following:

“However, the police may investigate whether there is a suggestion of any other criminal offences committed by anyone else“.

“The Herald newspaper also reported that up to six women approached the SNP two years ago to complain about Salmond”

“The newspaper said the complaints were understood to be of a sexual nature, and were taken to party executives who did not take them any further”

(Suddenly it becomes clear why this article by the BBC has been written now, and for what real purpose it is being given top story status in the Scottish pages of their website)

“Salmond quit the SNP in 2018 and the SNP told BBC Scotland News that its disciplinary processes could only be invoked against current party members”

Reading the above, and thinking why is this happening now , then one wonders if with so many people in Scotland highlighting their appreciation for all that Mr Salmond did for Scotland and independence, then perhaps we are now seeing a backlash via this by others who were not as appreciative of all that he did for Scotland and independence.

As in some are trying in regurgitate and renew allegations against him to besmirch his memory and too all of the things he did for Scotland and independence.

Of course I also suspect this may be the onset of yet another #SNPBAD situation where yet again the BBC are at the forefront of yet another the attack.
