Level of TB in England TWICE as high as that in Scotland

Announced minutes ago (10am), Public Health Scotland data indicated that there were 283 cases of Tuberculosis in Scotland in 2023.1

All things being equal, we might expect the figure for England would be 2 830 but it was 4 8502 approaching twice as many.

This reminds of the far higher measles outbreak rates in England and the far higher violent crime rates.

Yes, I know, ferries and drug deaths.

  1. The heading can be read ambiguously. Determined “Scotland bad” might get temporarily excited thing Scotland’s level was twice that which applied in England.

    1. Might be a good way to get “Scotland Bad” lovers to read an article refuting it.

You know, the same technique reflected back. They start an article thinking it’s another SGBad and only get to the bit halfway down that says they’re not. By which time the info’s in their mind…
