Only from Yahoo! News today:
A 20-year-old man [above] has been jailed for over a year after ferrying class-A drugs between Aylesbury and Scotland and ‘cuckooing’ a vulnerable woman at her home. Tyrees Kuba-Ngoma, of Friarscroft Way in Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin at Aylesbury Crown Court last Tuesday, October 1.

Police Scotland estimate more than 300 homes in Scotland have vulnerable adults being cuckooed by English County Lines gangs. BBC Scotland have twice, in 2021 and 2024, referred to this practice but on neither occasion did they indicate the English city from where the gang originated.
What can cuckooing mean?
Cuckooing is a form of action, termed by the police, in which the home of a vulnerable person is taken over by a criminal in order to use it to deal, store or take drugs, facilitate sex work, as a place for them to live, or to financially abuse the tenant. The practice is associated with county lines drug trafficking. It is also known to occur as part of mate crime, the act of befriending a person with the intent of exploiting them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c978z09ez1ro
More on the media silence in Scotland:
in February 2020, The Times reported:
Organised crime gangs from England have seized control of the drug trade in Dundee, forcing police to launch a series of operations to counter them.
Cartels from Manchester have used violence and intimidation to establish and consolidate their presence in Scotland’s fourth city.
They use vulnerable young people to act as drug mules and couriers, flooding peripheral housing estates with crack cocaine. The gangs operate a “county lines” system to distribute drugs outside their own cities.
They are grooming teenagers into trafficking drugs with promises of money, friendship and status. The youngsters, many of whom are in care or have turbulent home lives, are then controlled using threats, violence and sexual abuse.
The gangs are also exploiting vulnerable adults with mental health problems or addiction issues by seizing control of their homes and using them as a base to sell and make drugs, a practice known as cuckooing.
Police Scotland confirmed that it had brought in its organised crime and counterterrorism unit to combat the groups targeting Dundee.
BBC Scotland did not cover this.
In June 2021, Dundee’s Community Safety and Public Protection Committee had:
Work has been ongoing to raise awareness of County Line and Cuckooing activities to a number of front-line services in Dundee, through the Health and Social Care Partnership and NHS. County Lines activity is the practice of English based Organised Crime Groups, travelling to Scotland to sell class A drugs, using young or vulnerable people to deliver to customers. Closely related is Cuckooing, a term indicating the act of taking over a person’s home by intimidation/coercion, exploitation or violence, to use as a safe house or accommodation for a drugs courier.
BBC Scotland did not cover this.
in October 2021 Police Scotland reported to Dundee City Council:
Two English males previously known for drugs and cuckooing offences were identified by Operation Argonite as being linked to these addresses. One of these males was arrested in relation to road traffic offences. He was subject to bail conditions not to 42 OFFICIAL OFFICIAL enter Scotland and after appearing at Court, returned to England.
BBC Scotland did not cover this.
In July 2023, the Courier reported:

BBC Scotland did not cover this.
And just one month ago, in the Daily Record:
Dad who brought £400k drugs into Scotland as county lines courier is jailed. Lukas Losinski was caught after police raided his home in Dundee last year. Lukas Losinski was responsible for bringing drugs worth nearly £400,000 north of the border during a series of runs from Blackburn in England.
BBC Scotland did not cover this.
Everybody else knows these are English gangs terrorising Scotland. Everybody else can say it but the British Broadcasting Corporation’s Scotland branch dare not say ‘English’ or even name the cities, in England.
Terror Together?

You would think, given the amount of air and column space given to Scottish drug deaths, that this was at least worth a mention. I never see yahoo news and this hasn’t been prominent anywhere else to my knowledge, since it’s the first I’ve heard of it.
Even on X, where every misdemeanor in Scotland is gloated over, and drugs deaths thrown in our faces by fellow Scots who seem not to care about sullying their own country, they have been extremely quiet about county lines gangs. They must know because I’ve shared all your posts.

“You would think, given the amount of air and column space given to Scottish drug deaths, that this was at least worth a mention”.
100% this.
However that would then interfere with and so impact the agenda of both the media and also the opposition political parties who as a combined political force are all against the Scottish government (but only when , as a government, it is controlled by an independence party).
The impression given to the public by opponents of the SNP must be that, only since the SNP became the Scottish government , have drug deaths then become a far more serious problem in Scotland and also an increasing problem in Scotland.
Also apparently that there is no external factors involved in the drug trade in Scotland.
This is of course not the case at all but you would be forgiven for thinking, based on the media and political coverage, that the above was the reality on drug trade, drug usage and drug deaths in Scotland since the SNP took power in Scotland.
One wonders why they, the many opponents of the SNP, just do not come out and state that according to them ‘drugs are only a serious and increasing problem in Scotland only because of the divisive policy of the SNP, that is independence‘ .
(Though they have kind of indicated this in their promotion of the SNP being apparently more obsessed with independence that governing Scotland as a diligent and competent government-meanwhile their own obsession with the UK being sustained is, for Scotland, not to be seen as a problem or hindrance for Scotland- how convenient- for them that is- for us in Scotland not so much).
But then of course drug usage and also drug deaths elsewhere in the UK is , as news elsewhere in the UK, largely subdued and suppressed , as people in Scotland must believe that only Scotland has a real problem with drugs which , as a problem, apparently exacerbated as a problem only since the SNP gained power in Scotland as the Scottish government and also apparently made even worse by their lack of action on this.
Is that not how it works in the UK ? (with politics and media).

Drugs import has been a huge problem, to say the least, for a long time, it was terrible when under full English rule, it was deliberate and no doubt still is. There’s evidence out there that drugs are used by various factions on high to undermine and even oust governments in countries where their resources or land are much sought after by outside forces, etc. I heard a few years ago that drugs were able to be easily landed in Scotland because there was almost no marine policing around the vast coastline, (a reserved power to Westminster) now it looks like they just need to get on a bus from England to come into Scotland and terrorise the vulnerable population, marvellous.
Scotland was the drugs capital of the western world was it not while under English rule, and life expectancy was the lowest in Europe, meaning tragically very low! Brought up in NE England we were warned not to go to Glasgow, too violent and dangerous. Which is quite something given that as a female in England I never felt safe out alone.

How apposite ! We have plenty of experience of ”cuckooing ” in Scotland ; BBC Scotland was the pioneer pretending that it was ”Scottish” when , in fact , it is a Union plant endlessly distributing anti-Scotland propaganda into our homes .

”All the news worth reporting” but only if it advances the colonial process that BBC “Scotland” has been tasked with. Over the last two decades the BBC that operates in Scotland has been gutted of anything that resembles journalism, autonomy or independent thinking. When the SNP were riding high we were told repeatedly that “Scotland had two governments”. You will look in vain for any questions being advanced to Murray or Starmer on their manifesto promises, or that Scotland has only seen budget cuts from Labour, while money is being splashed in England/ Wales.

Yes its not just the BBC that are scared to say ” english” most of the sites that claim to support Scottish independence are scared to say “english ” , when criticising england its government and its people for their attitude towards Scotland they tend to say “british” or “unionist” they are afraid someone night call them racist , of course the english are not a race but i get what they mean.Me ? well my view is that its not in any way reasonable to blame westminster alone for the way england treats Scotland because the only way westminster can do what it does to Scotland is if english people vote in the MPs who make those decisions and clearly over a very very long time the english have been happy to do that.As ive said before to people you cant just blame Hitler for what germany did to europe in WWII he was enabled by the people of germany , many many of them not all but a majority and thats what happens when a majority allow bad things to happen everyone in the group gets the blame and so i blame england and english people, i know not all english people agree with what england does to Scotland but presumable a majority do or dont care otherwise it wouldnt have gone on for so long. Its time to cut the pretence that its a minority in england who are happy to fleece Scotland , the fact is most are because they actually believe we would not survive without them and that they actually support us financially.

Correct. I am now more than ok with saying English or England when it comes to talking about the political arena of their UK, GB or whatever they want to call it. I was born and raised in England. I have no qualms about sticking up for my adopted country of Scotland, I’ve lived here longer anyway 🙂
People shouldn’t feel they can’t mention England or the English when talking about any subject where it’s relevant. After all, it’s not like the media or those who control the media in Scotland and in England ever reports anything positive about Scotland or the Scottish people, and definitely not when it comes to the Scottish government and the SNP. Scotland is tarred with the same brush when it comes to world events involving terrible decisions being made by the ‘UK’ government. I have noticed more people switching from saying British, to saying English in some comments on YouTube videos however.
