Guess who signed off the 53 redactions to conceal what Angus Robertson really said to the Israeli Depute Ambassador?

Remember all that above a few minutes ago, here?

@TomlinJeanne just asked me:

Redacted by whom?

Good question, I thought. Here’s the first part of the answer:

The External Affairs Directorate, eh? Sounds very professional.

Who are they?

I really want the SNP to win in 2026.

There’s still time.

He needs to go.

It’s not the first time. In November 2023:

An SNP MP has said he is “dismayed” at a Scottish government minister’s trip to China. External Affairs Secretary Angus Robertson is visiting several Chinese cities this week. A press release announcing the trip made no mention of human rights or security issues related to China.

But MP Stewart McDonald, who previously sat alongside Angus Robertson on the SNP benches at Westminster, warned that the “character and tone” of the visit was “out of step with international opinion.”

The trip was also criticised by the head of Westminster’s foreign affairs committee and an international cross-party group of politicians.

      1. I was having the same problem but I found that once I started writing I just had to scroll down and it gives you the options for signing in. I have to do that every time I want to leave a comment.

  1. Chinese students. Whisky and salmon. A 1.2Billion market.

The Chinese Premier came to Scotland first. ‘Scotland the land of discovery and invention’. The Chinese have got better off. The economy has improved. British Opium wars. Invade by the Japanese. The one child policy. Now two.

Netanyahu is a warmonger. Causing war to try to keep in power. He is charged with fraud and receiving illegal donations. The Israeli economy is tanking. 3 inconclusive elections in two years. Many of the population do not support Netanyahu.

  2. “I suspect this is under ‘ instruction ‘ from the UK gov. “

All gov Ministers are subject to the official secrets act, this absolutely involves the UK gov and they control any information releases, why do you think they get away with GERS.

    Golfnut.

    1. HMG have full control via the FO on what is published over diplomatic meetings, although with the form of words usually agreed with the other party before doing so, it can cause additional delay – Ultimately it was a deliberate set up to embarrass SG over it’s stance on Gaza, including the OTT media response…

      1. I don’t disagree, however redaction doesn’t mean that there was agreement with Israel, infact it would well be the opposite and both Humza and John have been vocal in the cease fire request and have never supported Israel….we shouldn’t be involved in these illegal genocides, but that’s WM for you…..keep up the great work
