Earlier today, BBC Scotland were delighted to tell us:

A man in Scotland has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to import £600,000 of cannabis from Thailand through Stansted Airport.

Jay Aston Emmanuel-Thomas (33) born in London and an England U17 and U19 international, has played for 14 different teams in only 16 years, from Aberdeen to Thailand! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Emmanuel-Thomas

    1. Dunno, but the county lines crims come in from England and are operating in Scotland and causing untold (ie nil the media) suffering in Scottish towns and villages. The fact they are being allowed to or at least not being stopped is very sinister indeed, but not surprising.

  1. So he’s born in England, clearly English, but BBC call him “ a man in Scotland”? They are getting ridiculous in their anti-Scots attitude. Makes you wonder if a racism prosecution would succeed?

    1. “So he’s born in England, clearly English, but BBC call him “ a man in Scotland”?

      Indeed.

It seems that for the BBC when it, looks like a (proverbial) duck as in is a actual Duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a Duck then as far the BBC are concerned it still is not a Duck Ha Ha.

The Scottish (bad) connection no matter how tenuous (or rather non existent as far as this story is concerned ,as in his actual nationality, is for the BBC totally irrelevant) as the opposite is what the BBC will promote or focus upon.

Meanwhile on matters down South what’s the Jackanory by the BBC ?

    1. Indeed you are correct Kelticgirl.

However is that actually what the BBC are merely implying ,with their reference ” a man in Scotland”.

I doubt it ( as they do have form on this as often they infer something, in this case probably hoping that some readers assume that ‘the man’ they refer to is indeed Scottish as , after all , he is they said “in Scotland” so apparently there is no need for them to be more specific in also stating that he was born elsewhere . I mean who needs additional and more precise information from a (alleged) news provider- of sorts).

God forbid that any news story would ever and should ever be meticulously covered by the BBC news teams in Scotland.

As the BBC is where facts (and truth) go to die.

  2. Keir Starmer was asked by a reporter on ‘How can Labour make a cut to the Pensioners winter fuel allowance for all Pensioners (bar those on additional benefits) yet he was wearing a pair of glasses costing £2000 as per the financial donation from a Labour party Peer (and donor to Labour party) so how does that square up as being fair ?

    His (non) response :

Blah Blah Blah and some waffle about “Labour were elected by the public to see “Change” .

(So not an actual direct answer to a direct Q – actually it was really an allegation– by the reporter -one of many to Mr Starmer – who we learn is also not averse to taking Freebies- and he apparently sees nothing wrong in doing that).

So , yes indeed , some of the more gullible members of the public, and also those desperate to be rid of the last Tory UK government, did vote for Labour in the recent UK GE and expected, as promised by Labour, to see “Change”.

Whether that was to experience a small “Change” with Labour compared to the Tories.

Or to see a distinct “Change” with Labour compared to the Tories

Or perhaps to see a complete “change” of political attitude , political direction, and a “Change” of policies .

Also , just for a “Change”, seeing more decisions being made by a new Labour UK government that would start to ease the financial burden many of them, as the public , had suffered under the Tories.

So then , how is it all going with the supposed “Change” as promised by Labour via the incessant amount of times “Change” was stated, as in promised/pledged, by them during their GE campaign ?

Well it seems that bubble has well and truly burst and we the public, are not seeing any real “Change” at all coming from the Labour party in power in the UK.

So he, Mr Starmer, may now see more clearly with his expensive new Glasses but unfortunately for him we , the public, also now see even clearer in knowing that those who voted FOR Labour in the recent GE were , in doing so, voting FOR a ‘Pig in a Poke’ and now many of them are experiencing ‘Buyers remorse’.

  3. Perspective is sometimes helpful in looking at the fairness or otherwise of some issues, an MP gets a breakfast allowance of £56 per day, that’s £280 a week. An MP gets more on a weekly basis to stuff their faces at breakfast time than a pensioner gets as a one off payment to help with their heating bill.

  4. The cut in the heating payment for pensioners will finish Labour off. Pensioners vote. Fooled once. Filled twice. Not fooled again.

Murray crowing. Nae chance. They will never win in Scotland, Nor will the Tories. Mass betrayal.

    Freebie Starmer can clear off.

    1. I wish I had your confidence. We were told , in no uncertain terms, on the doorstep in 2015 that, “Never again, they, the Labour Party, lied to us, so never again”. So what happened? We lost our hard working S.N.P M.P, and are now lumbered with a liar who, according to information, is ignoring constituents requests for assistance. Are they really that stupid? It would seem so.

  5. More cannabis is grown in the UK than imported or smuggled from abroad. High grade stunk that makes people psychotic. Induces mental illness in the young.

Crime is linked to alcohol and drug addiction. More people should be in rehab than prison. Total abstinence rehab. Proper facilities. 7000 males in prison 200 Females. Many neodiverse without support or diagnosis. Need rehabilitation. Higher MUP. To control crime.

The UK has the highest prison population in the EU. Police wasting £Billions on false prosecution political show trial. Instead of giving cautions for mild misdemeanours. 2 months+ on remand. Years of high profile investigations with no outcome.

  6. MSM Monitor Tweet yesterday:

“Keir Starmer claims GB Energy is already up and running so Paris Gourtsoyannis has to remind him that the legislation hasn’t even been passed yet. Starmer is Liz Truss in a suit. So keen were Labour to get rid of the left they never noticed he’s a political idiot

This was when Keir Starmer was being interviewed yesterday when he claimed that “GB Energy is already up and running and making decisions” , but when he was then corrected by Paris Gourtsoyannis that that was not the case in respect to GB Energy, he then responded (in what was in an obvious flustered manner):

“No but we’re already partnered with, um ,organisations already in relation to GB Energy”. (Yes he did say um and he also said “already” twice in a short sentence).

So he, Starmer, proved to be not that articulate ,indeed he seemed very similar in style to Boris Johnson , when challenged by a reporter. (seems that it’s hard to be fluent in your speech when having to lie).

Then I saw another tweet by Zach Polanski (Deputy leader of English Green party) where he tweeted on Labour:

“I posted this yesterday but repeating as it’s so awful. £4 million donation tied with arms sales, oil & gas and private healthcare. And the cynicism of labour accepting it in the one week where they wouldn’t have to declare it until after the election

That second tweet is in relation to both an Open Democracy article and also an article in The Canary which is entitled “Labour’s £4m offshore hedge fund donor invested $40m in… climate engineering”

Yes, I know , so where the actual duck is the actual “Change” we the Public were all promised ?

Which as a supposed “Change”, was presented by the Labour party, as in they promised, it was to be a “Change” from that which we all had witnessed (and endured) with the former UK government run by the Tory party.

I mean many of these things we are hearing about and reading about could easily be attributed to the same kind of things the Tories did when they were in power.

More than ever I am convinced now that the “Change” Labour actually meant was in this definition where “Change” means ‘ Replace with something else‘ ( so simply replacing the Tory party with the Labour party as the UK government) .

So not as Labour seemed to suggest (promote) that “Change” actually was the other definition of “Change” as in ‘Make something different, modify or alter ( so Labour promising to be different from the Tory party in their, Labour’s, GE campaign).

I think some voters must now be undergoing what must be ‘Mugs remorse’ as well as ‘Buyers remorse’ in lending their vote to Labour in the (wrong) assumption that they , Labour, would be the polar opposite of the Tory party as a UK government.

Reality is now proving and exposing the sad fact that Labour, as a political party and as the new UK government, are on course to be even worse than the Tories (are a a political party) and were (as the former UK government).

Perhaps (long past the) time when more Scots and others living in Scotland should start to wake up and listen to people like us before they are again in the voting booth and once again they decide to put another ‘X’ in the wrong place at the wrong time in an election coming up in 2026.

The signs really are all there now , so for them as voters to do this , as in to vote for Labour in 2026 in Scotland with so much evidence existing that this, for us in Scotland, will not end well for us or our families would then be yet another tragic act of self harm. (the first act of self harm being some voting NO in 2014).

So time some in Scotland proved that we, as a combined nation, are not as assumed by some others to all be “too stupid” in (some of) them, as voters in Scotland, willing to be fooled time and time again.

So those ,who have been fooled in the past , must now demonstrate that in the future they do indeed have a breaking point which will then see them all experience an epiphany which will be that:

‘Labour have not, and never will, really “Change”.

(So then time some others in Scotland finally decided to “Change” their votes – and vote against Labour- and then also “Change” their minds too and start to support and vote for Scottish independence).
