Where Labour will control all of the so called British governments

Anonymous

SKY News had a Edinburgh student , pre the GE, state that he was going to vote for the Labour party in the GE as he wanted to get on the property market as a home owner.

Perhaps that said student was being somewhat ungracious and unappreciative of the SNP, as the Scottish government, in them giving him free tuition fees thus more opportunity to gain a better paid job in order to be able to afford a mortgage.

As this Scottish student’s debt, post leaving University, would be far less than others within the UK as any student loan that he (perhaps got if applicable) would not have needed to also have to cover high tuition fees.

Plus I bet he did not expect all of these austerity announcements to be made so soon by Labour after they, Labour , won the GE and so were elected as the new UK government.

I assume he , the Scottish student, was over influenced by Labour promising “Change” and a “Fresh start” so he assumed (wrongly) that this would personally benefit him and his ambition after leaving University in owning a house.

I imagine the Welsh student in this article with so much student debt will also not be thinking that she will try and get a mortgage if she finds a job as she will, if she earns a specific amount, have to instead focus on paying back her student loan.

Will she be looking to saddle herself with even more debt via a mortgage on top of the existing debt she has accumulated as a student , much of which was , I assume, to cover her high tuition fees that the above Scottish student was exempt from paying in Scotland?

In February this year it was reported that tuition fees in Wales would rise from £9000 to £9250 from September. Will the new Labour government change that ? I doubt it based on the extensive other cuts to funding that they are making.

More and more I think that for some voters in Scotland their choice of voting for a party supportive of the UK in elections is solely based upon many false notions they have of the UK and for some a misplaced loyalty that somehow they think the UK and it’s government will benefit them more than an independent Scotland and it’s government.

Yet the facts and truth that they are constantly confronted with as still being a part of the UK expose the reality is the exact opposite of what they believe.

I know that the media here has to assume a lot of responsibility for that misunderstanding and too the false notions being held by some in Scotland in them, as a media, reinforcing much of the lies and spin in what and whom they choose to promote and also in what and whom they choose to attack.

In that the media fail to highlight Scotland’s true wealth and potential. the past and current positive initiatives implemented by the SNP as the Scottish devolved government that benefit us as a people living in Scotland.

While simultanously they, as a media , are also obscuring how very reliant the UK and it’s respective governments have been on resources sourced from Scotland that benefit their whole UK.

It’s not just students who have suffered but all of us who have suffered too under the Tories and it seems that , as a situation, that will not “Change” under Labour at WM as the new UK government.

Just think if Labour do win in 2026 in Scotland then potentially they as a party will be the UK government, the Welsh government and also the Scottish one in their Britain.

Now that will truly then be Britain , with Labour as all three governments, witnessing us all as a people in Britain being under (controlled by) a one party state will it not?

Where Labour will control all of the so called British governments.

Very very scary thought .

  1. Hi Prof. This is why I didn’t resign my membership yesterday over the Robertson meeting with the deputy Israeli ambassador. I have written to our branch secretary saying that I want urgent action on this from the leadership. I expect Robertson’s resignation and John Mason losing the whip and his membership suspended. I will work for a SNP victory for Holyrood 26, as the alternative is scary for us all, especially the vulnerable, and our SNHS. That doesn’t mean that the party’s leaders can take the activists hard work for granted. You do an enormous amount of good work showing the benefits of a SNP government. Your branch would have benefited from your “critical friend” input to keep the party focused on the key aim of independence.
    Yours for Scotland

    1. Thanks Maureen but it’s kind of too late for me.

I zipped it when Nicola went straight to the US in 2015 to sign up to the American Project, told us the dread Hilary Clinton was her hero, told us to read the war criminal Henry Kissinger’s book, when the medieval values of Kate Forbes became popular with members and now this horror.

I will keep reporting when they do good and keep my sights trained on the opposition.

  2. They do have to speak with unmentionables. To try and get a view across that their behaviour is outrageous. That policies have to change to not bring death and destruction. The smile are just an illusion to try to stop more devastating behaviour.

Politicians have to talk with many unsavories. To point out the behaviours have to change. To try and bring peace out of terrible destruction. That is the point of dialogue.

People who support Independence need to go out and vote and stop voting unionist.

Some ignorant students need to educate themselves. They are more likely to afford a property or affordable rent under SNP legislation. To have a better job. An education going to waste.

Same old, same old Labour. No change there then.

    1. ‘They do have to speak with unmentionables?’

We don’t have to speak to them at all. We have to keep pressing the UK Gov to work on them but we know they will not listen. They’re not even listening to the US.

It looks a bit like entrapment by the ever-active Israeli embassy and AR fell for it because he’s a bit too vain.

      1. I agree.

It is frustrating how, at times, the SNP fall into so many traps or own goals knowing full well the consequences that will likely result in a media frenzy .

Their , SNP’s, naivety at times must surely eventually be replaced by a more savvy awareness, in them knowing that they must, as a party, be far more careful as they are under far more intensive political scrutiny than other political parties in Scotland by that same frenzied media .

Also the same media that are always looking for any dirt to link to them, the SNP, as a party in order for them as a media to promote or rather spin in the various media outlets within Scotland and also in the rest of the UK.

If we as ordinary punters (voters) are fully aware of what’s what (as far as the media is concerned) then why are the SNP upon occasion sometimes walking into so many situations that they must surely know will be exploited by the media and presented as a negative.

Also perhaps time for the SNP to take off the kid gloves with the media after all they, as a party, are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

They should be more assertive with the media and not be so polite towards them as it is blatantly plain that the media are a huge stumbling block in the campaign for independence.

Let’s be honest the media have always been against the SNP and that will never change based on their support, as a media, for the UK and those political parties who support it.

So why pander to the media and allow them to always dictate terms.

Perhaps the public might respect the SNP more if they , in their dealings with the media, were, as a party, more forthright and far far more assertive and so were seen to be taking no Sh*t, especially from the BBC, but also not taking any Sh*t from all of the media that, as a media, were day in and day out promoting what we on here call #SNPBAD.

        Cannot hurt can it ?

As not as if the media were currently endorsing them, the SNP, as a party to vote for in Scotland is it ? (And they, the media, never will as long as the UK exists)

  3. The UK Gov have caused all the trouble in the Middle East. 1917 Balfour Declaration). Unelected Lord Balfour gave a secret agreement for the Jewish state in Palestinian territory. The Arabs were fighting for the Allies in the 1WW. Lawrence of Arabian. The British promising the Arabs the vote and democracy. Reneged.

UK/France carved up the Middle East. Any democratic movement was destroyed. US Sun Oil company took all the Oil. US involvement in taking Middle Eastern oil assets and leaving the Arabs in poverty. Illegally and secretly.

After WW2. The Arabs supported the Allies for support for democracy. Reneged upon again. 1948. Migrants flooded into Palestine/Israel state. Took over, fought the British and terrorised the Arabs. Leading to the displacement of millions of people. Forced off their land and their villages.

195O’s Church took all of Persia’s oil. The CIA and M15 created secret uprising. The elected PM wanted a share of the revenues. The CIA and M15 caused uprising to discredit the elected PM and he was put in jail. Persia now Iran. The papers are available in Boston. The Iraq/Iran War. The West supported Iraq and armed and supported Saddam Hussain.

The Suez crisis. Egypt took control of the Suez Canal. The British sent in troops. Antony Eden had to resign. It was considered he had mental health problems. The US did not support the action. 1970s Vietnam. 1990’s Glasnost and Perestroika. Eastern Balkan states got Independence and self governance. 2000 Scotland got Devolution. 20years after voting for it. The Tories – Thatcher prevented it.

The 1967 Arab war. The Seven days war. Israel was triumph. Another total disaster.
1960’s Polaris dumped in Scotland. McMillian demanded the system from the US. Kennedy was reluctant. They were supposed to be situated at Fort William. That did not suit Kennedy. Ended up at Faslane in the vicinity of Glasgow without permission. Greenham Common in the vicinity of London was shut down after protests in 1992.

The Iraq war. Libya destroyed for Oil. It would have been better to purchase it. Less hassle, less death and destruction. Less costly.

Starmer the war criminal supports Israel. Jewish family connection. Had to tone it down after protest. Tone deaf hardly likely to change policy. A waste of time. The majority of Jewish people do not support the Israeli Gov. Westminster is hardly likely to do anything about it.

The Scottish Gov makes its position quite clear. To stop the War the suffering, make peace and encourage a two State solution. Netanyahu is a crook up on criminal charges trying to get out of conviction. Creating this scene of death & destruction to try and divert attention from a prison sentence. Yousaf has spoke out against it many times. So have other members of the Scottish Gov.
