BBC Scotland twice failing – warning when there is no risk (riots) and not warning when there is a very real one (drug gang violence)

With a little research anyone can establish the tiny or non-existent Scottish membership of the right-wing groups organising the riots in England. You’ll find the figures here: https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/2021/07/05/neil-troubles-mackays-big-nightmare-the-inside-story-of-scotlands-teeny-far-right/

They don’t have the critical mass to organise a tutorial.

What do the experts say, BBC Scotland?

Police Scotland wishes to reassure communities that there is no intelligence indicating similar incidents are likely in Scotland. We continue to liaise with a range of partners to maintain this level of reassurance.

Assistant Chief Constable Catriona Paton, Policing Together said: “We understand that these recent events may cause concern, that is why we have focused our efforts on increasing policing visibility and engagement across the country as our primary commitment remains the safety and wellbeing of all our communities and our officers and in building trust and confidence.

“We continue to closely monitor the  events in England. Police Scotland is dedicated to upholding human rights and will not tolerate violence or discrimination against any group.

So, BBC Scotland keen as mustard for a riot to report when the chances are poor in the extreme and to hopefully cause panic where there should be none, if they reported accurately.

They did the same to scare unnecessarily, Scotland’s Jewish population in February 2024, with this misuse of figures: https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/2024/02/15/reporting-anti-semitism-in-scotland-badly/

When there actually is a real risk of death, extreme violence and drug abuse from English drug gangs everywhere in Scotland and with measurable consequences in terms of surging violence in small town Scotland and where folk should be made aware for their own safety, not a word! 1. Just watching the supposed news on Distorting Jockland. Utterly DISGUSTING. ‘Accents from other towns’ as one thing to look out for regarding English county lines gangs operating on our country.

This story tonight on the BBC in our country is specifically foreign English immigrants causing crime in our country. FACT.

      1. My apologies, that was part of a much longer comment, that I had edited down, regarding BBC Scotland at least producing a report on cuckooing, well known as one of the criminal activities associated with county lines.

Now that BBC Scotland has looked into cuckooing in Dundee it might find that there is a wider connection with county lines worth investigating for future news bulletins.

  2. The disgraceful ” Refugees in Scotland ‘living in fear’ following riots ” piece is still being promoted in prime spot on BBC Scotland’s main and politics pages…

  3. The photograph heading the BBC Scotland misreporting is from rioting in Rotherham last week, but the photograph has no accompanying text to identify this.

Why is it part of the article at all???

    1. If photos like this are being used by BBC which are misleading then yet again that prompts another complaint to their corrections and clarifications section of their website.

No one is perfect but the BBC seem to always make errors that disadvantage both Scotland and the political party currently the Scottish government which seems suspiciously too coincidental as a constant to be mere ‘errors’ but instead seem tactical and deliberate.

Pictures like this will give tourists the impression that this is happening in Scotland so what say the Scottish Tourist Board ??

    2. Inference – ” other parts of the UK ” appears to be doing most of the heavy lifting – Typical of such propaganda pieces, there is no attributed author let alone a journalist of such well earned low status as James Cook…
