Pandemic management in the 4 nations – only Scotland’s is weaponized by BBC

Thanks to Brenda Robb for alerting me to this.

In Scotland, where pandemic strategy was only devolved to the Scottish Government on 31 March 2020, two months after the WHO alert followed by weeks of neglect by Boris Johnson, BBC Scotland make it the headline story in an effort to harm their reputation with misinformation.

BBC England?

Not relevant it seems.

Wales?

Minor interest?

Northern Ireland?

The official report has much to say about the three devolved governments and the UK government but only BBC Scotland weaponize it.

Not in the report, this after more than a year of varying pandemic management in the 4 nations:

  1. The bile continues from the FOREIGN ENGLISH STATE MOUTHPIECE/ aka bbc!

    Their never-ending venomous lies/misreporting/misrepresenting/non-reporting

provides daily reasons why we SOVEREIGN SCOTS must

    RID OURSELVES FOREVER

of every vestige of the toxic, corrupt and vindictive

    FOREIGN ENGLISH COLONIALIST OCCUPYING OVERLORDS

The eventual ‘goodbye’ will not be long-drawn-out and they will NOT be missed.

Scotland’s people have awaiting us, a prosperous future of our own making and history that we will now make in freedom.

NOT a FALSE history imposed upon us by

    A FOREIGN ENGLISH COLONIALIST POWER

  2. BBC Scotland, the bastard child of Radio Caledonia, the German Propaganda Ministry’s “secret station” that broadcast defeatist propaganda to Scotland. The station was presented in 1940 from Germany by Scottish fascist Donald Grant from Alness aka Jock Palmer.

  3. In the recent SNP survey I reiterated the point as forcibly as I could that if the SNP and Scottish government are serious about countering the threats posed by SLabour and the next Holyrood elections they needed to be far more aggressive to this constant misinformation. Perhaps I am just naive or not politically savvy enough to understand the nuances at play here but I’m at a loss to understand why the SNP continues to acquiesce to all the criticism that is directed at them ad nauseam by the MS Media. especially the BBC.

Please can someone enlighten me please because I am becoming seriously dismayed by their reaction. Is it the Forbes/Swinney religious leanings that is dictating things ..if so I fear devine intervention is not going to help them very much if this continues.

  4. BBC Scotland is appalling.

Wait till they get going with David Davies speech on Alex Salmond v Scottish Government made under the cover of Parliamentary Privilege this afternoon.

I would guess that this is all the information that could not be said or published at the time.

It wI’ll make interesting reading in Hansard.

It appears that this has been brought into parliament with the cooperation of the new Labour Government.

There will be at least enough material for a couple of in depth investigations by the TV teams.

  5. Indeed, the Andrew Pickens article leans heavily on the individuals involved, eg by the 3rd paragraph ” It found Scottish ministers in Nicola Sturgeon’s administration adopted flawed UK government resilience plans without adapting them for Scotland’s needs “.

Whereas I understand Hallet’s hindsight criticisms, the context is lost in the BBC Scotland version – By the time the legislative power to act was granted to SG, the crisis was already upon them, and the ‘flawed UK’ plans were all they had to run with – Yet without the slightest hint of hypocrisy, here BBC Scotland dutifully reports it – I suspect most of us remember BBC Scotland’s reporting on any deviation to the UK strategy taken by SG, ever being criticised as ‘politically motivated’.
