In April 2024, NHS Scotland’s full, consultant-led Emergency Departments saw 67.4% within 4 hours.
The equivalent figure for NHS England, if they’re not fiddling the figures again, was 60.4%
NHS Scotland is thus 11.58% (7% of 60.4%) faster.
So, of its 129 000 attendees, more than 15 000 would have had to wait more than 4 hours in England.

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-work-areas/ae-waiting-times-and-activity/

“Scotland’s full emergency departments (ED) 12% faster to save 15 000 from waiting much longer than they would have in NHS England”
Well that’s bound to get ‘Lost in translation’ via the BBC…..they only speak fluent #SNPBAD……I say “‘Lost in translation’ of course, while I am in an optimistic mood….. when reality it, as news, it will be ‘Not translated at all’ via the BBC here ….as it will be ignored like all other #GoodNews via Scotland…..
Meanwhile we in Scotland also have to tolerate the Jackie Baillie version of our Scottish NHS service…….full of doom and gloom yet looking at Labour’s poor performance with the NHS in Wales she, Jackie Baillie, would do better to stay schtum……….to avoid more people seeing her for what she is….a complete Buffoon…..and then there’s her Labour HQ who want more privatisation in the NHS so I think she, Jackie Baillie, needs to turn down the Volume……as her party ain’t all that…… in fact one could even say that both she and her party exist very much in a desolate political moral vacuum…..of their own creating…..

On these latest NHS Scotland A&E waiting times, the press statement issued (4 June) by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) is telling. Firstly it has this (with my emphasis):
‘The Royal College of Emergency Medicine is urging whoever forms the next Westminster Government to ensure the Scottish executive has sufficient funding for Emergency Medicine as the country’s A&E crisis continues.’
It then states: ‘Dr John-Paul Loughrey, Royal College of Emergency Medicine Vice President for Scotland, said: “Extreme waits in A&Es are degrading and dehumanising and critically they are dangerous.’
Once again there is zero acknowledgement by the RCEM of the substantially better performance of NHS Scotland. relative to its peers in England, Wales and NI. And as I have written about here before, there is evidence again of more extreme language being used by the RCEM in its critical comments about Scotland, despite it having the best performing service of the four nations of the UK.
The RCEM’s VP for Scotland adds this: ‘.. whoever forms the next Westminster Government must be pragmatic, proactive and provide adequate resources so the devolved governments including here in Scotland can really address this issue.‘
So the key paths do indeed lead back to Westminster: the implication here is clear, Westminster has been culpable by providing inadequate resources for the NHS in Scotland, Wales and NI. We look forward to BBC Scotland – so often the amplifier of the RCEM’s views – picking up on this!

O/T apologies…..
Currently TOP story on BBC website under ‘Scottish politics’ page is the ITV debate last night between Sunak & Starmer……”Scottish politics” ?….BBC taking the proverbial P again…….as this is………….
Where the SNP as the Scottish government and who have the highest amount of MP’s elected to sit at WM as elected by Scottish (and others who live here) people in Scotland….and who were not asked or rather not “allowed” to be in attendance as the third party at WM in this ITV leaders debate in a UK wide GE……and Keir Starmer apparently demanded that be the case as in NO SNP…..I assume that was because EVEL was what he wanted to concentrate upon for this ‘live’ English audience who attended this debate ,and he assumed that Sunak would also want to debate/focus upon it as well, to sway the only voters who matter in this UK wide GE….as in the actual king makers for WM …..i.e. English voters…………. as the majority of seats within the HOC are those from English constituencies………..yet according to Keir Starmer ‘Scotland holds the key to Labour’s success in this UK GE’……but in a debate with Rishi Sunak we do not hear Keir Starmer mention that same Scotland …..once....and he also demanded that our Scottish FM not be allowed to attend this leaders debate (held n England)……..so from that go figure why we, Scotland, do not merit a mention or consideration in a UK leaders debate in a UK wide GE from Keir Starmer Labour leader….and neither did the UK PM mention us either…..or the UK host of this debate…..
And so as the top story in their “Scottish politics” page the BBC obviously ignore the part where both (supposed) UK leaders were asked about England in the Euros competition…..while as current Tory UK PM and also the wannabee Labour UK PM they both , Sunak & Starmer, and too ITV also ignored the fact that Scotland also qualified and so are also in the Euros …..or rather what is sometimes referred to as us being one of the nations in their so called ‘Union’ (fabricated one)………….
I did not watch this debate but I have read today that it was indeed a fact that “Scotland”, as a country, was not even mentioned in this debate…..
Now that is no surprise to me……par for the course via UK leaders…..and also via a UK media.
BTW the same ITV who ignored our FM in their leaders debate then had the audacity to ask Stephen Flynn if he would support England in the Euros (in the event Scotland got knocked out)……same ITV whose host in this ‘leaders’ debate was more than happy that both Sunak & Starmer should be asked only about England in the Euros but not asked about Scotland’s football team in this same competition…..
Of course the only reason Stephen Flynn was asked this was because ITV, like all other UK media, love to promote the non fact aka falsehood that the only reason the SNP support Scottish independence is because they ‘Hate the English’…….while ITV like other media just ignore Scotland and constantly treat it with contempt……and only mention Scotland when tis an #SNPBAD article they want to (over) promote…….other than that we are not worth noting….or even worth including in their UK leaders political debate in a UK wide GE…..where voters in Scotland do have the choice to vote for SNP candidates as their MP’s in a UK wide GE……no big deal for ITV though…their SNP omission………..in fact they hope that may increase Labour’s chances to gain seats in Scotland from the SNP…..win win for ITV a UK channel….allegedly.
Plus………….I see “No further police action over new Matheson iPad bill complaint”…..
“Complaint”…..as in “following a second complaint“……
An initial complaint was dealt with by Police Scotland in November last year, and officers were assessing another made last month.…….so who made both of these complaints to the Police…….was it via a politician(s) or a member(s) of the public…….and what was the nature/basis of these complaints…….and one wonders were these complaints made only to keep this story alive and also to reinforce #SNPBAD……reality is this was yet another waste of the police’s time, energy and resources….and too expense (via tax payers)………….but hey nothing matters more to BritNats than making sure the SNP are always in the firing line via the media…..and that Scotland will always be under WM’s thumb !
Sunak & Starmer….not my leaders……both as bad as each other…..and both bad for Scotland.

Edinburgh Festival bin strike warning over pay row…………
Remember Edinburgh now has a Labour minority council (via dirty deals made by Labour with both the Lib Dems & Tories support and where two Labour councillors were suspended because they would not vote with the Tories in that council)…………in 2022 local elections the SNP had 19 councillors elected, Labour had 13, Lib Dems 12, Greens 10 and the Tories 9.
David Harrold, Unison Edinburgh branch secretary, said: “If workers vote to strike, rubbish will pile up on the streets again at the Edinburgh Festival – one of Scotland’s truly global events.
“The last thing anyone wants to do is take strike action, but local government workers deserve a fair increase to stop their pay lagging behind inflation and other sectors in the economy.
“This is about more than just waste workers, we are standing together for fair pay for every council worker in the country.”
If this does come to a strike…..what’s the chances that the Scottish government will be dragged into this as the ones to blame and where the Labour minority council will either be totally excluded as being in charge of Edinburgh council via a minority…..or allowed to play the victims of a #SNPBAD Scottish government who have failed to deliver a fair settlement to councils funding in Scotland……..you know we could all write the script…..as it is the same one used time and time again….as in #SNPBAD………
We need to watch out for more industrial disputes prior to Holyrood election in 2026…..which the cynical part of me sees as perhaps being more for political reasons, as some Unions have form on this, as opposed to workers rights being enforced or supported……..and where Labour councils (and too other pro UK party councils) will be protected or promoted as victims of a Scottish government supposedly reducing their funding……but with no mention of the greatly reduced budget/funding allocated via the Tory UK government to our Scottish government …………..
Tell me……. how many English councils is it that have now gone bankrupt ? (that includes a Tory, Labour council and also a Lib Dem council)……….
Nottingham Tory council bankrupt…..Birmingham Labour council bankrupt and Woking Lib Dem controlled council bankrupt……….
Also Thurrock is a Labour controlled council and Thurrock invested hundreds of millions in commercial investments including a renewable energy scheme that had been overvalued…..in 2022 they went bankrupt and needed both government intervention and a bailout…………..
Also Croydon had poor governance and invested in a delayed housebuilding scheme………..it declared bankruptcy for the third time………it has been under both Labour and Tories in charge as the council……
I am sure that “local government workers” in these above bankrupted council areas will also not be getting a “fair increase to stop their pay lagging behind inflation and other sectors in the economy“………..and that Unison reps who ,like David Harrold, are in England will also be “standing together for fair pay for every council worker in the country.”….as in England being their country…..as if that is their, Unison’s, position in some Scottish cities and towns then tis only fair they should do the same in England’s cities and towns…….to include those bankrupt councils lead by Labour, Tory & Lib Dems whose mismanagement and incompetence and also their recklessness will not now improve the lives of “local government workers” in them seeing “a wage increase” to match soaring inflation resulting in high cost of living expenses…..
Oh what a to do……….but only when tis SNP apparently…………via the pro UK media, some pro UK Trade Unions and pro UK opposition parties….plus many a pro UK Think Tank….and also some infamous pro UK usual suspects……

Not surprised one bit. Bins are not emptied as they should be in Edinburgh, the city is a mess, it looks like a poor, downtrodden, literally rubbish strewn in the streets, recycling bins overflowing, graffiti galore including on heritage sites, cr*p city. I have been keeping a visual diary via my camera because of the mess and the road ‘works’ pavement ‘works’ etc are off the scale, causing traffic jams including via major raods to both major hospitals, a nightmare as reported by our shopping delivery driver, and with emergency services even stuck in traffic. This is resulting in terrible traffic pollution at times (and now they have the LEZ scheme where drivers could be fined for er polluting the air) Miles long pavements in streets that really did not it need it, have been completely replaced, but we have recently witnessed two people who tripped and could have really injured themselves due to loose pavements on the city’s main shopping street, Princes st.
This has all been taking place in the city since the LabConsLibs took control of CEC what two years ago, and it’s horrendous, the capital of Edinburgh is being wrecked.
At local recycling bins other day I talked to a a guy trying to fit in his recycling into an overloaded bin, he said ‘are they on strike?’ He was new to Edinburgh and had no clue as to who controls the council. Lastly near us there is a very very dangerous gap in the path with sheer drop into the river, if a small child or dog fell through it, they would simply not be able to be rescued easily, they would likely not survive, the council refuse to fix it and have been told about it, sent pics etc. This is what we are dealing with, why would a BritNat council maintain infrastructure and not waste council money in the capital of Scotland, when the government is not under their control in Scotland. It’s not really down to lack of money either. It needs investigating. I don’t trust British/Eng run CEC one single bit.

Reflecting on last night’s ITV ‘debate’ between Starmer and Sunak:
The two candidates to be UK Prime Minister, in the run up to a UK General Election, participate in a ‘debate’ broadcast to a UK-wide audience by a UK TV channel . They end the night with cosy, ever so jocular remarks – triggered by the same UK TV company’s interviewer – in praise of England’s international football team manager and England’s prospects at an upcoming international competition.
And then we had this: no clarity over what in policy terms is reserved and what is devolved; no representation in the ‘debate’ from the range of political parties operating only in NI, Wales and Scotland that presently have MPs in Westminster and are competing for seats in the upcoming GE – are all MPs not in principle equal? – and as a consequence there was throughout the clear implication that the ‘UK’ is equivalent to ‘England’.
So no Union Flags on display in this ‘debate’ but then no other acknowledgement of being in a ‘Union’ on display either!

In other news……..”Labour to propose ‘offshore skills passport’ as Ian Murray visits north east”…………..however Stephen Flynn SNP said “Labour pay so little attention to the North east that they do not seem to know that the Scottish government is already funding a development of a skills passport“……….
I suspect Labour do know this….but Stephen was being diplomatic or making a point that Labour, as per, choose to ignore what is already being done by the SNP as they, Labour, once again steal an idea/policy from the SNP…..which they, Labour party, assume that the UK media will then attribute it as being their (Labour’s) idea only………while, as a UK media, ignoring tis already an SNP initiative………
Ian Murray shadow Scottish (INO) Secretary of State and Edinburgh MP…..is already preparing himself to be WM’s ViceRoy in charge of the Scottish colony………
Same Ian Murray that in 2014 told us that the North east of Scotland would not be the economic saviour for an independent Scotland…..but since 2014 (as from 19 September 2014) is now, like other UK politicians, declaring how important Oil is to their UK economy…..with windfall tax a factor in how Labour, as the next anticipated UK government, hope to partly fund UK government projects and public services in England with a windfall tax on Oil & Gas companies
( Also Labour said that council tax in England could potentially be decreased thanks to Oil & Gas windfall tax ….apparently………..well that’s nice….maybe….but what about us in Scotland…..where’s our benefit and share of this good fortune as bestowed by a windfall tax via Oil & Gas in our Scottish waters)………
Labour can also add COPY CATS (or plagiarism) to their many faults as a political party…..and some of the things they, Labour, steal as ideas sourced from the SNP then they Labour also criticise these same ideas when they are implemented by the SNP….as the Labour party always promote that the SNP will be as a party ‘Damned if they do and also damned if they don’t’ also known as a just ‘Can’t win situation’ when Labour are there to constantly critique your every word and action.
Vote SNP…………if you want proper representation for Scotland in England’s parliament in London their , England’s, capital city .
Sorry for too many comments by me today………maybe time I also STFU…..LOL

No we need and appreciate your writing, information and comments NMRN, so keep up the good work.
Yes the oil, the black black oil. I have a book, ‘Black and Green gold, Aberdeen’s continuing role in the energy revolution’, by the Balmoral Group, 2010 produced in limited edition of 2500, so shouldn’t be too rare to find to buy. In it even then, there is a bit about how the industry was being diminished (I presume by the EngGov) and rigs started to be decommissioned, the writer seems to think that was not a good or necessary move. Theory, it was deliberate as soon as A.Salmond was on the scene and an independence referendum was guarenteed to go ahead.
You can watch some (not many for free online though) films about Scotland’s oil and energy industry via NLS ‘moving image archive’, very interesting and re geological surveys, the BritEngGov had known for decades that the oil was in Scottish waters, way back, 1940/50’s.
I have a book called ‘Natural resources in Scotland’ 1960, by the Royal soc of Edinburgh, ‘SCOTTISH COUNCIL (DEVELOPMENT AND INDUSTRY) 1961. It runs to 796 pages! The book I have called, ‘Scotland’s parliament’ 1997, (pub Scottish Office) a pamphlet really, runs to a massive, 43 pages. Very telling.
England was surveyed for coal and other minerals a very long time ago, the EngGov only surveyed Scotland much later and my oh my did they discover that Scotland was a gem, a gift that would keep on giving, there for the taking, a huge resources rich, but very poor country. I mean who wouldn’t want to keep the myth going that Scotland was and is a subsidy junkie dependant on the ever generous country next door just to keep the lights on etc, LOL.
Scotland is sooo scammed it’s tragic.

Yep Oil only a burden for an indy Scotland…..Oil….meanwhile for the UK……
Tis most pathetic and obviously a lie!
BTW…..last word honest…LOL…..
I think Starmer may have made a politically tactical error in demanding our FM not be part of the televised UK leaders debate….because when it is only him and Sunak then the people in Scotland only get to see and hear what Sunak has to say ,accusations wise, about Starmer and the Labour party…..(and vice versa for Sunak)…….and thus includes for both of them, all of the accusations, their weaknesses as leaders, highlighting the poor performance in government in both Wales (Labour) and England & UK (Tory party), current instability within each party (Tory defections to both Labour & Reform UK parties and with Labour the purging of the Left within the party and the current backlash on this but also how right wing their, Labour’s, views and policies have become)…………and for both of them their pretend passion as politicians for England only………….via them both debating the English NHS & other English public services/issues and thus matters unique to England alone (Wales only mentioned in the context of Labour governing there but no skin in the game for either of them in Scotland…..apart from our resources that they do not want to over emphasise as assets for heir UK aka England)…..
This all being played out on ‘Live’ TV as they both hope to be the potential next UK PM post July 4th…..and BTW with no mention of Scotland by either of them in the debate…..this then helps show Scottish audiences their true place in Starmer & Sunak’s UK ……………..as in not worth a consideration via either of them as potentially the next UK PM………..
So there is no respite or deflection away from Starmer’s leadership or from his party….or Sunaks’s………if our FM had been “allowed” to attend then both Starmer & Sunak could have occasionally diverted attention onto him, our FM, and too our Scottish government….but now that is not an option………….that’s an own goal from Keir Starmer…..LOL
So the audience at home only get to see and hear #BAD from Sunak about Starmer & the Labour party and vice versa for Sunak via Starmer……and when debates are in England only then I hardly think that English audiences will raise the subject of the SNP or our government’s performance…..but instead they, as an audience, will only highlight negatives to do only with both Starmer & Sunak’s parties, both of their respective election campaigns, their policies, their opinions on relevant matters such as public services, taxes etc and their mistakes and bad decisions that they have both made as UK political leaders……and also the English audiences will want to only discuss matters concerning England alone………………..and not other nations in the UK !
For Starmer there is nowhere to hide…..it’s a constant barrage where he is at last exposed to scrutiny that the BBC here in Scotland & STV too seem to fail to give Labour and him in Scotland….same goes for the Tory party as well !
So in a twisted way tis a win win for the SNP…..as perhaps at last some home truths will come out in their two way debates about both the Tory party and the Labour party (also about both of them as UK leaders)………….and many more people in Scotland will then at last be more enlightened as to how bad, boring , duplicitous and uninspiring both Labour & the Tories really are ….not just as parties or current and wannabee governments …..but via their current leaders too…………and you know to ignore Scotland in a UK political debate after you have demanded no Scottish senior politician, as in our FM, be at the same leaders debate……….well that is powerful message to send to Scotland….as in they both do not care about Scotland or it’s politics………but outwith their GE leaders debates both of them are not slow in slagging off Scotland’s public services and also the party we in Scotland have democratically elected to govern us……..as in the SNP……..so hopefully more in Scotland will now see what we see….and too that the BBC etc in Scotland fail to reveal……for obvious reasons……
Have a lovely evening ArtyHetty

The chief Treasury civil servant wrote to Labour two days ago saying that the £38 billion/£2,000 tax attack “should not be presented as having been produced by the civil service.
Having read this (not defending Lab)
My point is that we had DRoss on the leaders debate accusing the FM of backing a liar so if the above story is true will someone ask DRoss why he is backing a liar in Sunak.

Any truthh in this if so he is not working class.
To court working class voters, Starmer touts his background as the son of a factory floor toolmaker. But peek behind the veil and cracks emerge in this narrative. Turns out his father owned an independent toolmaking firm, devoid of managers lording over factory workers.

It seems that it is true, he ran his own business the Oxted Tool Company, at companies house their are no records of the company on files, therefore it said he may have been a sole trader….but who knows!!! All I do know is that I wouldn’t vote for him or his unionist ( destroy Scottish democracy) cohorts. Vote SNP and let’s be rid of the Westminster chaotic merry go round!!!
