5,182,993 people were registered with an NHS dentist as at 31 March 2024 (94.6% of the Scottish population). 732,618 extensive clinical examinations were paid in the quarter ending March 2024 under the new pay arrangements
I can’t find directly comparable figures for NHS England, but from a UK Parliament report in 2023:
1 in 5 Britons (22%) are currently not “registered” with a dentist. Of those who were not “registered” 37% said this was because they couldn’t find an NHS dentist.
Only 78% in UK registered, 16.6% lower than the 94.6% in Scotland. So access to NHS dentistry in Scotland 21% higher (16.6% of 78) than in UK.

Cauld-Ham’s mendacious, but unchallenged, assertion has been on the top line of the BBC Scotland Politics page for three days.
As far as I can see, since the GE was announced, BBC Scotland has only published ‘policy’ statements by the three unionist parties. News about the SNP is lower down, negative, and has been in place for several weeks, with several still having Humza Yousaf as FM.
The Greens get no publicity. This is ‘balanced’ reporting???

This is the British State broadcaster we’re talking about, whose sole purpose in this case is to attempt to destroy the case for an Independent Scotland. And you can bet, the closer we get to the G.E, the propaganda will reach a crescendo, in what I hope will be a vain attempt to prevent an S.N.P majority.

Alex ‘F*** You Maree’ Cole-Hamilton & Ed ‘Horizon scandal’ Davey…..from the Lib Dems…..yet another pair of Bobby Dancers jumping on the #SNPBAD bandwagon while expecting voters to ignore their many (serious) faux pas moments as politicians…..
Ed Davey….a sub postmistress is standing against him in his constituency because of his lack of action aka ignoring Sub postmasters pleas of innocence during the Post office scandal while he, Davey, was all too willing to simply accept the Post office Bosses assurances that they , as bosses, were right and truthful while the poor victimised sub Postmasters/mistresses were all wrong….or lying.
Alex ‘F*** You Maree’ Cole Hamilton…..has his own wee (serious) problem via a former member of his party, a female, who made various allegations about the Lib Dems, which she said were failed to be addressed by ACH and she is running a campaign called #AskAlex……….
However the media seem somewhat less interested in both of the above stories linked to both the HQ leader & the Branch office Manager of the Lib Dems as most of their media attention, especially in Scotland, is, as per , in only regurgitating and creating #SNPBAD stories while also willing to report any old S**** (rhymes with Plight) that is uttered from the mouths of both of these Lib Dem leaders especially anything that is #SNPBAD….as apparently both of these leaders consciences are clear obvs and thus they feel worthy to cast any stone in the direction of the SNP…..as they both are seemingly without any political sin…..though in honesty this opinion is only via them…..others know better ……as in

LOL…..they will both need to Brush up on their sweeping …..though they are experts at making ‘sweeping statements’ when it comes to the SNP and independence….they think that all voters will Brush over their many wrongs as a party…..and they tend to prefer to Brush off any and all criticism made against their party…one thing is for sure they, the Lib Dems, will not have a clean sweep as far as winning majority of seats in Scotland…..voters here would be as daft as a Brush to do that…..

Only one so exceptionally dim as Cole-Scuttle could see political mileage in a headline like ‘dental desert,’ let alone portray himself as the champion of the deprived 5% who suffer with private insurance plans…
PS – Remove Scotland entirely from the UK figure and it’s 77% before you extract the Wales and NI figures. Saw it written on a phone box labelled “Lib-Dem HQ, call Airbnb-Alex to book conferences and weekends away”…
