Millions of NHS patients in England will face higher medicinal costs from next week.
The cost of a single NHS prescription will go up to almost £10, following an increase of 25p this year to £9.90. This is an increase of around 2.5 per cent, which is below the rate of inflation, but the increase could still make life more difficult for people on low fixed incomes.

Well in 2019, Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour said they would, but by January 2024:
And when it comes to prescriptions Labour’s social security spokesperson has indicated that Tory plans to withhold free prescriptions from people seeking work ‘is not going far enough’.
Never mind, Health is devolved. Scottish Labour will look after us. Nope:
Every year since election to government the SNP has shown its commitment to free prescriptions and abolished them. However, over that period Scottish Labour have criticised the policy – a former Labour leader described it as “something for nothing”; and their current health spokesperson even said they would bring back prescription charges:

I blame that reckless SNP government for giving out freebie’s to those freeloaders that can’t afford to pay for their own medicine……those damn pensioners are just a thorn in the side………until Labour need their vote then we can just tell our media not to mention what we really think of those nasty old Scots….let them come to our ermine clad lords and ladies, cap in hand and beg for some crumbs from our mother of all parliaments in Westminster, we just don’t care about Scottish people, who get what they deserve…..the only thing they are good for is being too stupid to realise how much we are robbing them of….the fools, all it takes is for our media to tell them how bad Scotland is under the nasty nats, get some of them arrested, tell them their ferries are old and broken, tell them one thing “change” because they aren’t clever enough to understand a sentence and the money is in the bag…..back to free holidays abroad, free pies, free booze, free limo’s and make every service privatised….they won’t even notice because our media will tell them that we are doing a good job….cackle cackle cackle. Coming to a country near you sooner than we all think, unless we all get out their and vote for independence and the SNP Scotlands largest party.

None prescription charges keep people well. Less need for more expensive hospital stays.
