Yes most ridiculous idea ever, NZ has a geological fault running underneath right next to Wellington, through to the South island. No one in their right mind would even consider building a transport tunnel on an active fault line. Their government sounds incapable of making sensible, rational, safety conscious decisions, seems the trend these days across the globe. Sigh.
