Based on a Freedom of Information request by Scottish Labour we see in the Scotsman and elsewhere today this utterly stupid headline:
Scots die as patients wait days in A&E.
They have found that 7 300 had to wait more than a day in A&E and estimate on that basis, 2 000 avoidable deaths.
Why is that stupid?
The triage system, where nurses quickly identify which patients are at risk of losing their lives and put them first, means that only those who are not at such risk wait longer, some more than a day, but crucially in a bed and waiting for transfer to a ward.
What else is wrong with the Labour/media story?
It’s missing this sort of evidence:
All three nations have recorded a steady rise in recent years in the percentage of people not seen within four hours, including a steep jump since the Covid-19 pandemic.
But levels were higher in Wales than England and Scotland in every month from January 2013 to August 2022 and then three of the 13 months to September 2023, with England taking the top spot on the other occasions.

The SNHS saving lives every day. Every minute. Better than any unionist politician. Absolutely useless. Many people should not be waiting in A&E. Phone for a Doctors appointment either early or late. Any acute problems are dealt with immediately. Get to hospital as quickly as possible.
The UK Gov funding the NHS £125Billion. It has not been increased since 2015. The Tories are spending £1090Billion but no necessary increase for the NHS for 9 years.
The Scottish Gov funds the SNHS £13Billion + social care. Trying to mitigate Westminster cuts. From the Block Grant £40Billion. Nearly 1/3 of Block Grant spending. Westminster cutting Scottish budget and spending £Billions of Scottish monies on totally wasteful projects. HS2, Hickley Point, repayment on debt not borrowed or spent in Scotland. Trident, redundant weaponry, illegal wars, tax evasion, financial fraud. Brexit losing £Billions. Poor, bad decisions. The list is endless.

Scottish ( sic ) Labour , the Scottish (sic ) Tories and particularly the Media ALL ignore the situation in the English and Welsh NHS’s when discussing how ”bad” the Scottish NHS has become .
Context is not a word in their vocabulary when pointing out ”failings” in Scotland – nor is praising Scotland’s successes compared to the other nations in this benighted Union !

Lee was formerly with the Labour party once….then became a Tory MP…..suspended from Tory party….Tories tanking in polls….30p Lee jumps ship onto his GB News colleague Richard Tice’s party….
If Gove wants to seek out and punish “Extremists” then 30p Lee would be a good example of someone that fits the bill for that description…and he is long overdue in getting a visit from Karma….
This is UK politics….this is the UK we in Scotland must endure….a succession of political grifters who also are opportunists and who put their own interests first (bank balances) and we in Scotland are subjected to their constant derogatory comments against those we elect in Scotland via a public platform that is nowt but a rogue news channel……and with a majority of the media bending the knee and excusing and reinforcing their ‘political’ bad behaviour and also their ‘political’ divisive message that supports and endorses these ‘Bobby dancer plastic politicians’……
Surely “Now is the time” for a majority of people in Scotland to be fully aware that the UK is indeed a cesspit both politically & via their media…..if not now ….then when will that be abundantly clear to the majority here in Scotland ?

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine’s (RCEM) website has a section entitled ‘Devolved Performance Figures’ where it provides comparable A&E waiting times data for the NHS in the four UK nations. Presently these enables direct comparisons for the month of January 2024.
Under a Tory government with all the powers of a nation-state:
NHS England: ‘In January 2024, 177,805 patients waited 12 hours or more from their time of arrival. The MOST AMOUNT FOR ANY JANUARY SINCE RECORDS BEGAN AND the second most for any month.
’13.2% OF ALL TYPE 1 EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ATTENDANCES WAITED 12 HOURS OR MORE IN JANUARY, the second largest proportion of patients since records began.’
And under a Labour government with limited, devolved powers –
NHS Wales: In January 2024: ’24% of major ED attendances waited more than eight hours (15,228 patients).’
’15.5% OF MAJOR ED ATTENDANCES WAITED MORE THAN 12 HOURS (9,838 PATIENTS).’.
And in Scotland where opposition politicians and oppositional news media berate the Scottish Government for NHS Scotland’s performance endlessly, to degree unknown elsewhere in the UK:
NHS Scotland: In January 2024: ’17,077 (16%) of patients waited eight hours or more in Emergency Departments’.
‘8,402 (8%) OF PATIENTS WAITED TWELVE HOURS OR MORE IN EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS.’
So on the longest times spent in A&E i.e. 12 hours or more, the equivalent percentages during January 2024 are: England = 13.2%; Wales = 15.5%; Scotland = 8%.
On more than 8 hour waits, the equivalent percentages during January 2024 are: Wales = 24%; Scotland = 16%. (NHS England doesn’t publish monthly 8 hour performance data.)
These are substantial differences. They confirm that NHS Scotland, notwithstanding its shortcomings, provides by some margin the best performing A&E service measured by waiting times of any in the UK.
This is the important perspective that BBC Scotland and the mainstream media that supposedly serves Scotland will ensure the wider electorate in Scotland is never given!

The biggest Tory donor is a racist. Getting Government contracts and donating to the Tory Party. Total corruption.
The NHS has not been properly funded by the Tories for years. No increase on £125Billion, a year, for nine years. With the population % of elderly people increasing. Elderly people need more help from the NHS.
The Tories have the monies but do not increase the funding. Spending £1090Billion a year. Wasting £Billions on useless projects of little value. Raking off public funding to fund the Tory Party and their associates. Absolute unionist corruption. Mone etc. Illegally taking monies from the NHS and the elderly. Just disgusting. Bribery and corruption.

Yet we have Dross and Stephen ‘flying tooth’ Kerr thinking they can school the SNP on politics…..both knowing full well the state of their own party….same kind of party that chose 30p Lee as a candidate in 2019 (pre him being a Labour councillor in 2015, where he was suspended from them in Feb 2018…. then he joined the Tory party as a member in March 2018…..was then elected a Tory Councillor and then became a Tory MP in 2019 and then in March 2024 he defected to the Reform UK party)…..that’s the kind of people Dross and Kerr’s party choose to represent them as MP’s.
Reminds me of the proverb “Physician heal thyself” whenever I read or hear either of those two, Dross and Kerr, slate the SNP .
