As BBC Scotland delights today in the irony of the one housing officer, in Fife, who had to declare herself homeless after her private landlord decided to sell, their extended report has, of course, no context.

Since the SNP came into power in 2007/2008, when Labour Scotland’s affordable housing completions were only just above those in Labour England, the Scottish level has climbed and stayed way above that in Con England and even further above that in Labour Wales.
Remember, every 1 completed per 10 000 population in Scotland, means 544 homes.

Across the 15 years between 2007/08 and 2022/23, the annual average supply of affordable housing per head of population in Scotland has been 14.2 homes per 10,000 population [7 725 homes every year on average], higher than Wales (8.2 homes per 10,000 population), England (9.7 homes per 10,000 population – average across the years 2007/08 to 2021/22), and Northern Ireland (12.7 homes per 10,000 population – average across the years 2010/11 to 2021/22).
Scotland has had a higher rate of supply than all other UK countries in each year but one from 2015/16 to 2021/22, with the rate dropping below the rate for Northern Ireland in the year 2020/21 following COVID-19 restrictions.

Despite only winning 20 seats at May’s local elections (2022) compared to the SNP’s 34, the party gained the support of both the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives to take control.

Fife Council highlights the utter hypocrisy of Labour ( whether claiming to be ‘Scottish” or ”British ” or ”Martian ” ) .
They want the public in this GE to help them ”get rid of the Tories” , yet up and down Scotland they actively support Tories or happily accept their support to keep out the SNP !

In the past I have called for the SNP to publicly denounce these outrageous distortions of the news by the BBC. The fact they don’t makes me suspicious that some MSP/MP’s are not as enthusiastic about Independence as perhaps they once were which is an accusation also made by other pro Indy groups . I would be interested to hear the views of others on this issue and suggestions of what course of legal action is open to us.
I fully accept that we do want to be accused of stifling free speech as both Labour and Tories seem to want and that we should all of course uphold in a true democracy but certainly I am no longer of the view that we ever had that in the UK due to the complicity of OFcom and dominant Unionist Media/Press.
Until we bring about some modicum of balance, fairness and integrity to those reporting the news the Scottish public will never get to hear the reality of what is happening and with it goes any possibility of Independence. .

The media is 100% anti SNP and anti independence, and even though the media takes the name of Scotland, or Scottish, it is definitely not Scottish.
Scotland has no broadcasting powers it is banned from by the English government. Broadcasting is controlled by the English government, with regard to the ‘main media’ via the normal channels and platforms.
Aside from The National, which is rarely stocked in our local shops now and if it is, it’s usually hidden behind the right wing rags by the anti independence folk. How the SNP are meant to denounce the likes of the BBC lies and other mass media massive onslaught of propaganda I don’t really know other than following blogs like this one, and others on the dreaded by the state, social media platforms. I’ve seen via twitter this week, that some pro independence people in Scotland have thought Broadcasting Scotland is a BBC channel, rather than the independent run by volunteers news programme, via alternative channels.
Share, communicate, like, subscribe, donate…people can’t expect the SNP to do all the leg work in countering British state propaganda, we have to help out with that, in great numbers. 🙂

Fife Council with a £10m underspend on budget for local communities and haven’t even bothered to request funds from the £50m available from the SG for long term settlement. And have the audacity to say they don’t want to make housing a political football – bunch of hypocrites

Tories, Labour and libdems are perfectly content to facilitate the suffering of the people in councils by denying them services and infrastructure, in order to con the people into believing the utter lies about it being an SNP fail, via British state media. The BritNat parties will actually cause homelessness on the people of Scotland, for political gain, it’s immoral, unethical, and undemocratic. That’s the whole point of the English parties in Scotland, to keep the people down, and to keep thieving Scotland’s vast resources, simple really.
There’s one thing that can put a stop to the English parties operating in Scotland, from imposing their undemocratic, greedy, self serving assault on Scotland though, independence.

The Scottish Gov have to take an oath of allegiance to Westminster. Like all civil servants. Under the Official Secrets Act. Sworn in at Holyrood. All civil servants have to do it. Police etc. Devolution terms. Scotland needs Independence.

The Scottish Gov is funding house building in the NE. It is taking a while. The (unionist) Councils do not follow up with school building. Overcrowding the schools. The pupils have to be there before they build the schools. Councils (unionist) spending monies on empty shops and offices, instead of schools and houses.
The SNP win the most council election candidates. The unionist gang together to keep them out. STV. People who support Independence need to get out and vote.
